IC: Darlyn Boda
Hyperspace travel in much of the Anoat Sector is through dense nebula. Many of the hyperspace lanes were plotted by the famous Ecclessis Figg, founder of the Outer Javin Company. Imperial forces have clamped down on the Anoat Sector, but the recent assault seems to have broken things up a bit. The travel from Ione to Darlyn Boda is about 1.5 days galactic ‘south’ on the Ison Corridor.
From the navi-computer and the ship databanks, you can tell that Darlyn Boda has a Type-I, human-friendly atmosphere and a planet-wide population of about 200 million sentient beings of mixed species. It maintains a high average temperature and unusually high humidity factor.

Re: IC: Darlyn Boda
Darlyn Boda is a steamy planet of jungles, swamps, and bubbling mudpits. It is able to sustain life and a feasible spaceport, but not much else. On the outer edge of the Anoat System, Darlyn Boda does not attract much attention.
The Pirate Captain, Jairius Tye, gave the group the name of a contact there. A contact who may know something of a lost Rebel Alliance ship. In typical fashion, he gave this information with a wink and a grin. One can never be too sure when dealing with pirates! Ty Janus, he says, is a tough, rough-looking, human male with an eye patch who spends his time at a place called Pepper's Pax in (Darlyn) Boda City. All-too-eager to count his credits, Jairius made off quickly without further information. But not before tossing some credit sticks our way to thank us for our contribution. He and his friends likely made over 100x's that amount in those fueled tankers, alone.
{{{ + 5,000 credits each }}}
With Captain Kettel and the others aboard, The Red Dawn makes its way over the planet's surface. There is one, large city on the surface....Boda City.

Re: IC: Darlyn Boda
Vesper, Helios, and crew know very little about Darlyn Boda. Vesper knew that Echo Base had several staging point throughout the Anoat System, but assumed they were all icy planets like Hoth (2 Failures, 2 Threats). It was a pretty tightly-held secret as to where those temporary bases were located. Darlyn Boda has one spaceport, located in Boda City. Casual scans indicate several smaller cities scattered around the edges of a large sea.
Private Joons steps forward.... (4 Succ, 5 Advs) "Darlyn Boda??!! Hey! I was stationed there before Hoth! I don't know if any Alliance member are still there, but there may be some sympathizers left over from our time there. Sadly, I was not privy to that information. Our location was hush-hush."
If it was a Rebel staging point, then there is likely remnants left behind. Medical facilities, supplies, fuel. The Alliance always kept up a network of smaller locations for possible future use.
"AND AN IMPERIAL BASE AS WELL!!!" comes a shout from the back. It is Lieutenant Pitts. He had been rather quite for the half-day's trip. "Yes, I am afraid you are going from the jaws of victory into the bowels of defeat! An entire garrison of the Emperor's best troops are stationed there! I shall be reunited with them soon, I believe!"
Lt. Pitts' comment visibly shakes the crew (possibly leading to future setback dice), however it is obvious he is embellishing the quality of those troops (1 Threat). Such distant outposts are usually isolated, small, and undermanned. That much is pretty common knowledge.

Pitts furrows his brow and scowls, "It's Lieutenant. " Nonetheless, the presence of an Imperial base on Darlyn Boda is worrisome.
Re: IC: Darlyn Boda
Vesper overlooks the navicomputer and glances out the viewport. "Guess all we can do is set down in the spaceport and see if we can't find the remnants of this Rebel staging area. Unless this Ty Janus has something else in mind..." She gives the others a wary look.

We should see what we can find out about this imperial presence as well. A base even one full of bucket heads may complicate our endeavors.

"YOU'LL FIND OUT ABOUT THE IMPERIAL PRESENCE SOON ENOUGH!!!" comes a blustering shout form the back.

{{Helios can make a Coercion Roll to back up his last threat. Perhaps reinforcing what you said will shut him up. (That, or moving Lt. Pitts to a closet!) Not easily coerced, the difficulty is .

"SHUT IT DOWN ,PITTS!!! YOU AND YOUR IMPERIAL FRIENDS AREN'T GOING TO STOP THIS REVOLUTION!!!" shouts an irate Oona Braitano! She has half a mind to space this Imperial loyalist.
Lt. Pitts quickly complies (2 Successes) and is heard from no more. However, (Despair) the ship's transmitter was in the "on" position at the time as Helios and Vesper were in the process of radioing in for landing instructions.
The feminine, high-pitched voice of the spaceport operator comes over the comm system in the cockpit,"Copy again, Red Dawn? We have you as a YT-2000 freighter. What is this about Imperials? Are you requesting contact with the Imperial HQ?"

Re: IC: Darlyn Boda
Helios rushes to the console. That good for nothing commander owes me money. You shouldn't gamble what you don't have. What is that captain? Fine! No control the captain won't let me collect on this trip. Perhaps next time. For now well just take the usual landing instructions. Next time captain I collect. Hellios begins to spout at various intensities speaking loudly and in an angry tone at the imagined captain and calmly to the operator in turn.

Helios confusing stream of nonsense barrages and confuses the comm operator at the moment.
"Trouble with those types? Understood. (1 Adv) "We'll move you to a less-trafficked landing bay farther away from possible encounters. Bay 16. Confirm, Red Dawn?"

Re: IC: Darlyn Boda
Steam rises from the surface of the planets as boiling mudpits and lakes create a highly humid climate. Even in the city, clouds of low-hanging vapors exist.
There is no visual sign of an Imperial presence. No towers, AT-ST's, armored vehicles, or barracks. If there is a presence, it is either small or well-hidden. Docking fees, spaceport security says, are 100 credits plus 20 credits per day. You know this to be quite the norm on the Outer Rim.

Pepper's Pax is a fairly popular place and easy to find. Helios seems to have a nose for finding these things in such places (Like finding that cantina shelter in that nomad settlement of Lost Point back on Ione). The locals tell you that it is a combination restaurant and tavern, located at the end of a muddy alleyway, positioned between a jewel shop and a mortuary. A favorite gathering place of the planet's criminal inhabitants of every denomination. (5 successes)

Re: IC: Darlyn Boda
Helios, Vesper, Kettel & company notice many interesting things in the city, but the clutter of activity prevents them from noticing if anyone had noticed, marked, or followed them.
For a planet this far out in the Outer Rim, they notice that the streets are rather peaceful and free from violence. While they see many violent types, they seem to keep their to their business as if observing some kind of social code.
Vendors sell various potteries, clay objects, power sources, jungle fruits, and select animal pelts and meats. Standard fare, if not indicative of the planet's resources.

You notice as you enter Pepper's Pax that two bouncers sit to the side and they wear light armor with prickly spines on them (2 advs).
Once you take a seat (either in at a table or the bar), a female Rodian waitress brings over three plates, each with a plant item on it. She stands and waits, looking to you and then to the plate. One burly bouncer stand up and comes to stand a few meters behind the waitress with his arms folded....waiting. The second bouncer does the same.

Vesper tries to guess the custom being presented here, but she can't place it.
She looks up at the Rodian. "A little help here?"

Helios focus on the pepper for a moment trying to understand its significance before being distracted by his pet next who has leaped up onto the table flipping it to the ground and sending the peppers flying. A shadowy image of the creature appearing briefly to those looking on.
"I told you, girl, that is not how we behave in public. Bad Girl! don't you eat those come kneel by me. He says looking towards where the pepers landed. before turning to the waitress. I sure am sorry about that. She is usually well behaved but is feeling excited since we haven't eaten here before. I'm Helios.

The table wobbles, nearly tipping over, and the plate and peppers topple to the ground. The table settles back to its foundations. The Rodian waitress, at first, looks startled by the events and then looks either scared or angry. You guess that she either wants to hit you or call for help. She's not sure what happened. Helios and Vesper (And Kettel) are unsure of what was asked of them.
Another human female waitress sees what happens and brings another a few more wooden discs over, each with one strange, green plant pod on it. Some sort of local sporting event plays on a nearby holoscreen.
One of the burly bouncers comes over and leans in. (1 Adv = They don't go immediately to fisticuffs. They take the minor disruption as an inadvertent bump of the table. No big deal. )
"Perhaps you are off-worlders, eh?" he asks. Straightening up and addressing the other patrons he says, "First-timers for sure!"
"We have TWO RULES here at Pepper's Pax: No Fighting and No Cowards!!! You see, the "No Fighting" we can take care of. And if you're a COWARD, we toss you out!!"
"This here (the green pod before you) is a firespice vegetable pod. It's a rite of passage to patrons at Pepper's Pax. If you can't take eating one of these, then you're a weak coward!! If you refuse to eat the firespice, then you are also a coward!! Either way, you are obliged to accept this hospitality since you've taken up residence here." He then steps back just a step, folds his arms and stares down at you all.
In the background, cantina patrons have stopped what they were doing and many appear to be exchanging credits with each other while whispering among themselves. Making small wagers among each other, you assume, on whether the noobs will dare to eat the vegetable pods or not.
