"That gods' forsaken light forced us into fight with the wolves that were only protecting their pups." Oomaq says angrily, stabbing towards the light as he steps closer to it, missing horribly.

Re: Klaverjassen
Thew'Ruk sees the wolf fall at his feet and then looks over at the other wolf who ran away, unsure of what they were planning to do he almost moved to pursue then saw the fleeing wolf pick up a pup and continue their retreat, with several other larger pups in tow. They never meant to attack us, they were as much placed into this trap as this undead whisp and only trying to protect their young.
Dropping to his sword beside him and kneeling in front of the bleeding wolf, Thew'Ruk moves to stabilize the wounded animal's condition, while whispering calmly to it, "It's ok, we didn't know, your pups are safe."

Oomaq holds back his anticipated strike, taking a stance on the balls of his feet with the rapier held at the ready. "Where'd that devil's light go this time?"

Re: Klaverjassen
Thew’Ruk growls at the mention of the orbs disappearance and then calls over, “probably to set up some other thrice damned trap like this one, now come and assist me, these wolves are also it’s victims and I want to stabilize their condition.”
The half-orc continued to work at healing the wolf in front of him grumbling under his breath something that sounded like -no one tricks me into harming the innocent and gets away with it-

Re: Klaverjassen
Thew' Ruk Stabilizes the wolf at his feat. The sound of its whimpers dies down though. One other wolf lies dying near the group the third having shattered from the cold and the forth running off with the pups.
Re: Klaverjassen
"Watch for that blasted orb while I work." Meddaar begins treated the other injured Wolf. Having a wolf companion would be handy but he knew better than to elect something as such.

Re: Klaverjassen
"They're wolves." says Gage as-matter-a-factly. "They'd tear you to pieces this very moment if not for their current condition." he says, looking at the nearby corpse of a wolf and the unconscious ones on the ground. He then applies a cloth to stop the bleeding from his ghastly wound. "Perhaps the next set of travelers will not be as lucky."

Re: Klaverjassen
Thew’Ruk shook his head, “you misjudge then my friend, all animals serve a purpose in nature, these wolves are no different. They only attacked us because that undead whisp lured us closer to their den than they were comfortable with and they thought we were a danger to their pups. If what you said were true then that other one would still be trying to savage us rather than running off to protect her pups.”
Re: Klaverjassen
We should move on and get the dead back to Klaverjassen. If you want to take the injured wolves with us, perhaps they can ride next to the driver of one of the carts.

The group gathers together their equipment, horses, and cargo and head back to the main road. they travel for several hours without any issues. The darkness fades behind them and gradually disappears all together. Several hours into their journey the sound of a galloping horse can be heard as a single horse with a rider at full gallop rounds a bend a quarter mile up the road. (1295 feet).
Re: Klaverjassen
Bersk readies his crossbow, prepared to fire if the rider shows hostile intent.

Oomaq also readies his shortbow in case of hostile intent, but steps to the trees/brush along the road side for cover.

Re: Klaverjassen
The horse continues to gallop towards you until the rider notices the drawn weapons. He reins in his horse which stops a way away (120') and draws his sword before calling out. "In the name of the Kingdom of Klaverjassen lower your weapons!" Shor-tay hearing the sound steps forward and raises his shield towards the indivdual who recognizes not only the symbol but Shor-Tay himself. sheathing his weapon the horse back rider moves his horse forward at a walk. He dismounts and greats the group. "I am sir Bedun Radar. I recently returned from an expedition to the capital and was informed of your mission. When you did not return yesterday I was sent out to find you.
Re: Klaverjassen
Cleric Bersk lowers his crossbow and approaches the rider. "We were delayed... but we are on the way back to Klaversjassen now."
Clerk scrutinizes the rider before giving any more information.

The rider looks at the Cleric quizzically. "My Lord, Why are you not riding the horses? Surely you would have arrived much faster with their use."
