Good news and Bad news. First the Bad. I looked over the Coercion skill several times and I am afraid it does not apply here. It is based on threats or harm, neither of which Vesper is doing. PERHAPS the threat to "leave", but Marax doesn't need your business. The check very much matches the language under the Charm skill.SavageBob wrote: ↑Sun Jan 07, 2018 3:07 pmSo, DS, Coercion to get Marax to fork over some credits? You mentioned there would be alternative forms of compensation that don't include looting bodies, so this is my one attempt to get some of that. This is also Vesper's temper coupled with her sense of injustice being piqued. Vesper's no face, so a boost from one or two of the other players would be nice if there will indeed be a roll. (That is, if they want to indicate they'd help, like Lanna glowering or Ronin or Thino speaking out on our behalf or whatever.)
The Good news is 1) Marax is a wealthy noble template, not high attributes or skills, and 2) I reread the Charm skill and saw...
Ronin's approval of Vesper's request seems to mean something to Marax, almost as if he trusts him (to an extent) (6 successes on a previous charm check). Vesper can make a Charm Check at 1 Diff with 3 Boost dice. 'Skilled Assistance' from Kzar makes your initial dice pool GGG. You may want to use a DP to upgrade and get a chance for a Triumph. The amount of "payoff" will be determined by the success of the roll. A Triumph working alike the 'multiplier' on a lottery ticket.CRB = "For situations in which...a target who is already predisposed to react favorably toward the PC, the PC does not need to make an opposed check. Instead...difficulty (of the check) is determined by their number and their disposition....may require few, if any, difficulty dice."
