Re: IC: To Dxun
Things are getting tense as these Sith Soldier have the upper hand (and the upper ground!). Monty bears down, aims, then sidesteps closer to the wall to deflect the return fire.

Re: IC: To Dxun
Not to flee from a challenge, the courageous Sith soldier tries to return to Commander Monty fire over the precipice of the drop-off below. It is difficult (Sidestep upgrade and +2 Setback dice), but not impossible.
He NARROWLY misses!!! Monty's body armor absorbs a nearly-lethal shot!! The soldier moves himself into a better shooting position above (1adv=boost) that has better cover from below (3 adv = +1 ranged defense)

Re: IC: To Dxun
Anjali returns fire, nicking the Soldier despite his cover (+3D after soak).
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Monty follows with a barrage of his own, putting everything on the line to bring down this last foe. Monty fires three carefully-aimed volleys. The first strikes the soldier in the hip, crippling him, to an extent. The second strikes the soldier's hands, knocking the rifle from its grip. The third shot strikes center-mass, causing the shiny-armored soldier to fall forward and collapse (16/15 WT).

Nothing happens for a few, brief seconds. The three below stare upwards waiting for any further reprise from their foes, but receive none.

Re: IC: To Dxun
The dark, durasteel-like walls prove too much for BA....again. This room is bewildering, dark, and silent. The recess lighting is eerie and an aura of unsettling darkness permeates everywhere.
This has been a brief, yet exhausting battle. A slight twist of fate the other way would've left AA, Monty, and BA as a pile of rotting corpses on the ground. Those were two tough Sith soldiers, probably hardened from years of battle in the recently-ended Great Galactic War. These Sith don't seem to know that the war is over. Although, we are technically in Sith territory according to the terms of the Treaty of Coruscant and it would be within their rights to defend themselves.
It take a while to find a way up to the next tier. There is a well-hidden turnabout concealing a staircase up to the next level. This level wraps around the floor below, giving a good overview of it all. No sign of anyone here. It takes a lot of searching, but eventually there is a concealed staircase going upwards and also a 'concealed' private turbolift which only illuminates the control panel when one's hand passes over that section of wall. safe to assume that both lead to the hexagonal command center above, which is one layer below the surface.

At the top of the stairs, (1 succ, 1 adv) one can hear a commotion going on the other side of the door. Voices, shouting, rushed movement, furniture being knocked over, and dull thumps in the surrounding structural environment as if impacts from above the surface or on the walls. (The top level is just below the base's surface.)

Re: IC: To Dxun
While listening for sound beyond the door, the door creaks open loudly (2F, 5 Advs). A scene of chaos is unveiled. 'Ferocious beasts' are falling from the sky, crashing into the surface of the base!!!

"Ah! Best to lay low a minute."
A few helmetless Sith soldiers run by at about medium range. One looks this way for a second and then decides to keep moving. It appears an evacuation is underway. There are some flaming wrecks, some downed, half-frozen beasts (the Drexl), soldiers, and some shuttles.

Over yonder (that's a Star Wars word, right?), there is a shuttle preparing for takeoff. Everyone moves towards it stealthily. No one who is there notices the approach of the A-Squad. There are a few soldiers there: two guards, a pilot, and co-pilot. And, to everyone's surprise..... Alamy!!!(1 Succ, 6 Advs, 1 Triumph)

Anjali levels her blaster at them with a glare she hopes is at least half as fierce as BA's.

"You should take this opportunity to leave with your lives. There is another shuttle nearby. Leave the prisoner and be on your way." (Leadership check)
At first, the crew seems startled by our presence. What would enemies of the Sith be doing here??? Commander Monty, combined with BA and AA's contributions, makes a convincing argument. Despite the treacherous outdoor circumstances, they exit this ship for the next one over.

Alamy is there, seated and in a stupor. You MAY be able to awaken her a bit with some medical attention (a stim? Smelling salts? Some caffeine? Etc...)
Re: IC: To Dxun
Anjali holsters her blaster and runs over to Alamy. "Monty, BA, get us out of here! I'll tend to Alamy."

Re: IC: To Dxun
Alamy is heavily sedated, yet she recognizes you. This may just take some time to wear off. Although, injecting some stimulants into her system MAY counteract the depressants. Or, it could have an unforeseen effect. (2F, 4Advs) (You may try to counteract the stim. RP Medicine check)
Monty fires up the shuttle and flees over the landscape. He heads over the treeline and out-of-sight of the calamity behind them. Eventually he finds a small landing space free of enemy detection.

Anjali takes a moment to calm herself - she HAS to help Alamy. Anjali carefully examines her to treat this stupor she is in.

It appears the stim applied had the temporary, partial effect of arousing her senses. What they drugged her with, who knows? "Anjali???" Alamy asks inquisitively, but still sedated.

Re: IC: To Dxun
She struggles for a moment to recall. Bits of information come out sporatically. "I....I....I.... stumbled upon their thought-control program. Compelling beings to work for them (the Sith). Implants.... She says this while reflexively reaching her hand behind her neck to feel if she has one herself!!! She does not, and she seems relieved when she finds nothing there.
Later, with some ship-brewed java-caff in her system, she communicates more. "Spying program. Spies, fighters, .... all under their control."
"I have to go warn the others back on Coruscant!! And.... Kintan!!!!
They are heading to KINTAN!!!!! You have to stop them!!!"
