Sounds like a plan.
Give me about 5 minutes after a post, I'll probably edit it a bit before it is finalized.

LS 3 / DS 3

True, we can talk / negotiate once we see how things progress. Perhaps they will give one of those villainous monologues prior to things!

It's funny, the campaign I'm GMing, I've usually got about half a dozen things in mind that my players could ask for or think of that I could roll with, and try to give them leeway for all kinds of options, yet they often just barrel ahead guns blazing, and I think, "dang why didn't you try to think of some other things"? Now here I am as a player, and I'm sure there's probably a half dozen interesting things we could do here, and yet I can't imagine a damn thing except "prepare for combat". It's like freezing when put on the spot. Sigh.

I know that feel, don't worry about it, it'll be fun regardless.

Tuesday might I ran an impromptu session on google meet Tuesday night that ended in a way that you were looking for. One player backed out this week, so I try to keep a few one-shots at-the-ready for one of those times. They went to see an artist on Berchest whose sculptures seemed to have some unusual healing properties. The two of them went to the artist's home and noticed the meandering street folk paying them particular attention. They were talking to the artist at the doorway and the archaeologist decides to suddenly dart inside the house! The two street folk pull blasters, we roll initiative, they shoot at the Hired Gun outside and then take cover w/ defense (with the 8 Adv's they rolled). I am expecting the typical shootout. The NPC's are all D'd up behind cover in the yard outside, and when it is the Hired-Gun's turn, he..... simply walks inside the door and closes it behind him. "Geez," I thought. That took a few rounds of combat off the table! The artist conceded two rounds later and called off his allies, who were outside taking cover. The Archaeologist actually paid the man (after shooting him once) for a book on jedi symbols and some artwork and they walked off peaceably. I gave extra XP for the creativeness of it all. The artist did not know their significance and had been replicating them in artwork.

I like 'trying' to provide different options when I can think of them. We'll see how it turns out. I sort of had TWO ideas for npc actions, so I will have to settle on one of them!

Sorry for the long delay in posting. I thought the time after Christmas and before NYE was going to relatively open, but life filled in that void. My apologies.

I'll leave the IC where it is at, for a moment, in case anyone wants to adjust their actions.
(Not saying there is a REASON to adjust your actions! Just pausing in case you do.)

Again, the port structure is a large, circular tower with ports all the way around on many levels.

Can we calculate their most likely route to approach our location, and if they will stay together, as well as how they're equipped, numbers and strength?

It's been a while, so..... (from the ship scan)
For the contents of the shuttle (5 Succ, 3 Adv), you have very specific details. There are 8 occupants: 1 Pilot, 1 Co-pilot, and six passengers (all male humans). All passengers have carbine weapons and wear armor (1/1 Def). The co-pilot has a particularly strange energy signature from his entire body that is different from the others (3 Adv: detail not normally available through successes). His energy weapon is a lightsaber.
The ship lands a level above us, almost directly.

Without direct observation, not possible to know what they're doing in real time. Caspo COULD hammer the ship scanners repetitively and constantly talk into the comlinks to inform us, albeit, with a slight, but significant, delay. There's a lot of activity nearby and it could be tougher to scan point-blank than scanning a ship from afar, but it is possible. For example, the persons could walk into a crowd within the port tower, making things very difficult to track. It all comes down to the rolls if you want him to do it.

Ok, what are we looking at for bystanders here? I was thinking we're pretty much alone around where our ship is.

Bystanders and passerbys in the hallways outside the hangar. There's an outdoor landing platform where The Vandura is, a walkway inside, and then a 'hangar' that can hold a sil 3 ship. No bystanders walking through there.

Hmmm..... I am no SW history expert, but I suspect not. I kind of think the Sith Empire approved of such things but The Republic did not. Researching Wookieepedia briefly, the Sith did use slavery.

The NPC's barging in got the drop on us, but FOUR threats from their perception check was awful. They have armor plating under those cloaks, Defense '1', so melee or brawl will be Purple-Purple-Black-Black ImageImageImageImage.

If BA should go next, then it could be a total of 4 Boost dice.

Anjali should maybe squeeze off a shot before BA engages, to avoid that diff upgrade.
