One vote here to 'crash the mountain'. We got to leave soon. Take anything that could possibly be useful and bury the rest. Ask the 'sphere' if it has any last words. Perhaps it has a self-preservation protocol and we can gain something from the experience? Trixie isn't one to threaten a seemingly non-hostile object, but if it is, indeed, simply a thing, then she would compassionately issue it a proper goodbye.

Trixie's weakness is confronting evil and her motivation is helping the helpless. Burying the mountain keeps everyone safe. She is also very much for getting a possible cure out to everyone she can (Strength = Compassion).

The pragmatic choice: collapse the entrance with a generous application of explosives, or a concentrated barrage of turbolaser fire from orbit.
The keep-your-options-open choice: post a contingent of Republic troops to guard the entrance.

I personally don't like the second option, as it suffers from a major drawback. You either have to explain why the place needs to be guarded or you keep the non-Jedi troops in the dark. Either way you have a risk of a security breach. And this assumes hostile spies won't find out, or one of the guards betrays the place's existence, or just sticks their nose in where it doesn't belong.

Famous quote from Aliens: "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure." -- Ripley

Bombing it it is. Leaving the Sith ship here, taking the holocron, anything else?
Give me about 5 minutes after a post, I'll probably edit it a bit before it is finalized.

Besides data, was there anything else that wasn't "nailed down"?

Datapads, computers & comp files, chemicals, samples, and the like..... It kind of goes without saying, but I'll say it. ;)

Ready. Would the sphere have any inclination to self-preservation (i.e. negotiate for its survival)? It seems that the sphere had an inclination against the holocron, so it seems like it has a mind to it.

Or, should we act that out IC?

If you want to figure that out, you'd need to do that in character.

Reconsidering what Trixie knows, IC, I re-thought my idea in terms of what the character would likely do. Varc and Arca did some things so Trixie will consult. If nothing comes up, then I am ready to move it ahead.

Lore check to figure out who the holocron is based off of?

Its a she, DeepSpacer, just as a heads up. :P

Average lore check upgraded once (RP), two boosts because Varc cares about the Sith and spent time looking into them.

Would it be cheating to use my unused XP to raise Lore now? If it takes it too far I’ll roll with my GG. I’m guessing the boosts are just for Varc because of his background correct?

No, it would not be, lol, go for it. Yes, those two are just for Varc.

You know that Sorzus Syn is associated with the Hundred Years Darkness, and you know that the Hundred Years Darkness was basically a century long war between fallen Jedi and the normal Jedi order that created uncountable mutant monsters and hybrid species, and led to the Jedi involved being exiled and eventually joining with the Sith Empire.

That’s heavy.... I can only imagine what I would have gotten with a success!

I’ll wait for a response before I share what I know about the clearly crazy holocron.

I thought we had already failed the lore check on Sorzus? Or was that a different kind of check? Maybe on those datapads or the monster? It's okay. We can move on. Thanks for the heads-up on the correct gender pronoun. I evidently missed that. ;)

Oh, maybe you did fail one earlier, if so I didn't write that down. I'll make a note this time.

That stuff you got would be the standard Jedi lore on the Hundred Years darkness, something all padawans would have taken at least one course on during training. It was the second major schism and, of which up to this point there have only been two (this game is set before Exar Kun/Ulic's schism of the Order).

Just curious, how do you keep track of things? A notebook? Sheets of paper? Excel/Word? Software records?

I rolled 3 successes on my Knowledge: Education check!!!

Usually add in notes to the google drive or evernote docs where I have my notes for these games.

Is that a new role, or an old one?

If new:

- Sorzus Syn claimed to have been the one that perfect Leviathans and all manner of mutations during the hundred years darkness
-Sorzus Syn was a fallen jedi relatively late in the conflict, having stayed out of it for a while until she had perfected her mutations
- Sorzus was one of the 11 surviving dark jedi that were exiled, and eventually took over the Sith Empire 3 thousand years ago.

New roll. Unlike most of the rest of the party, Arca hadn't had as much interaction with the holocron until just recently so I hadn't had an opportunity for a roll.
