Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
Well, that's two PCs next. @ThreeBFour and one of you two.

Also, I'm not sure Inspiring Rhetoric will be helpful in this particular encounter, @Boutrose Saba-Norr. You'd be sacrificing successes, and there may not be a second song after this one.

Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
Technically, you're getting for your Performer's Attire, doubled to due to Raysel's successful check. Your professional instrument adds one more . But yeah.
Then upgrade once for the earlier Triumph.
Plus you get the generic from the venue itself.

Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
Yikes. I hate rolls like that! (Just had one in DS's Uprising game.)
So, it's another Echo's turn. @kanila or @Boutrose Saba-Norr can go. When you take your turn, @kanila, I'm thinking that the spectacle of you filming the proceedings—even with a datapad—is enough to add to the overall impression the band is making (thus justifying your contribution). Higher difficulty will represent more sophisticated camerawork on your part.
Whoever goes next, the standard applies, plus any other bonuses you get from buffs, talents, and gear.

Whoops, then I forgot one boost for performers attire.

Maybe flip a light side point here? This seems to be our big battle of the scene.ThreeBFour wrote: ↑Wed Jan 02, 2019 3:29 pmHoly crap what a meh.....

Too late for Targus, but not a bad idea for our next two PCs.

I just flipped a LS. So I guess the counts as because I went with the roll. Which cost 3 strain and the threat cause additional strain or something else?

Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
Correct. Ryg'gos adds to the Echoes' total and takes 3 strain. The will be used to give the next rival character .
Two NPCs are up, then Ghaise takes us home! Get ready, @Boutrose Saba-Norr!

So, failed roll for Granari, but 9 !
For , she'll distract Ghaise temporarily and remove his bonuses for the round (the various from both his attire and professional instrument). For she'll also give Ghaise an additional . The last 4 will grant her final Ronto on his check.

It’s all on Ghaise. Also one Ronto left to go. Oh boy....
Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
Hey, all, I'm traveling today, so apologies for any delays. We can't do much until @Boutrose Saba-Norr has Ghaise do his performance check anyway. Hope all's well with him and we can wrap up this encounter soon.

Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
I've tried to get in touch with Boutrose to see how he's doing. I'm still hopeful he'll return, but if he's away for much longer, I'll roll for him. However, because this is a crucial roll (with only one separating the two teams), I'd like to get your feedback on what difficulty he should roll against.
He got a on initiative, which would be worth a free maneuver, but he's last in the rotation, so there's not much he can do with it other than sit down at his drums, which he would have been able to do anyway with his normal free maneuver. Due to the earlier of Granari, he won't get from his performer's attire or instrument, so that leaves the base to the roll, plus for the Command talent. Leaves him with a pool of (or with a DP spend) plus .

Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
Could he use the free maneuver to sit at the drums and then Aim? Aim being used loosely to ‘aim’ for the appropriate moment to jump in with his drums?
I would say with a LS flip. We don’t know the skill level of their last performer, but I would venture to guess they would save their best for last!

I like the idea of the use of aim. If it had been mentioned before I missed it and if not, @Kanillashould have thought of it earlier....kanila wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 6:54 pmCould he use the free maneuver to sit at the drums and then Aim? Yea, my bad haha! It just dawned on me. Not firing on all pistons I guess.

Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
Not a problem, I'm just jealous I didn't think about it 1st. @SavageBob what do you think of using aim at the beginning of a performance like @Kanila suggested? Or even mid-performance in the case of solos latter in the game?
Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
Well Aim could be used for any timing related thing. It’s just about how you justify its use really. I wish I would have thought about it for my turn too!

Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
I've been thinking about Aim, and I don't think it makes sense. Here's why: You can't "aim" anything else in the game other than weapons, and I think that was intentional. If I allow "aim" here, it essentially gives players a + on nearly every performance check they make and takes away the impetus to do other things with that maneuver (like moving, readying an instrument, or offering assistance to the next performer). In the economy of combat encounters, there are a lot more options to do with your maneuver, but allowing aim here means that maneuver suddenly becomes the best of limited options. Unfortunately, then, Ghaise won't get to make use of that free maneuver (since he's last in the rotation), but he did give you the first initiative slot with it!
I'll have Ghaise make his check later today.

Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
I was thinking only for the 1st round of a performance, with the possible exception of a character doing a solo, which we haven't done to date.
Re: Reverb in Blue: Session 2 (OOC)
Well, looks like Ghaise won it for you anyway with that Triumph! Without it, you'd have lost by a single !
@kanila, will Ryg'gos try to stop Kri from taking the bag away? If so, it will be an opposed check versus your Vigilance.

If it’s like the first one we did, one round works out to one song. So unless we are doing a second song, we’re done I assume?ThreeBFour wrote: ↑Wed Jan 09, 2019 1:33 amI was thinking only for the 1st round of a performance, with the possible exception of a character doing a solo, which we haven't done to date.
