I have tried out both with my live groups and they can both be fun. Arcane trickster seems quite limited because they don't get many spells, but it is surprisingly adapt. Specifically the ability to make their mage hand invisible and do things they can normally only do with their hands with it. Such as picking pockets, locks, and disarming traps. It has a 5 lb limit, but that covers a lot.

That right there is why I thought it would be fun.

Did either of you check out the Arbalest? Basically turns the Rogue into an archer, but it is Homebrew.
But I do agree the Trickster can be a fun idea.

I just looked at what I had on hand.

So as far as the coins go does that seem good for the lot breakdown? Same with the potions?

As for the gems, were you wanting all of them?

I was just gonna sell it anyways. More gear since I don't use armor.

Yeah one potion each with the rest as a group kitty works, although I'm sure the potions will be used as needed anyway :D
As for the Gems, it goes with the background and Oomaq could probably use them in his downtime, but like I said he can work something out with the party for them.
The Arbalest is in the Homebrew section of D&D Beyond.

Posting here because it's the general spot right now. Oomaq is up for choosing his Archetype as a Rogue. General choices are Thief, Assassin, or Arcane Trickster, plus several Homebrews available that I've been looking toward at, primarily Arbalest, although Roguish Treasure Hunter is the Indiana Jones version, and Two Goblins in a Trench Coat is just silly but could be fun.

Anyway I need opinions on what you guys think Oomaq should go forward as.
Looking at Oomaq's background, Thief looks to be the way to go. Seems like he was always a serious child, asking questions of his father about when it is right to steal and who it is right to steal from. He doesn't sound so flippant as to be a Trickster nor cut-throat enough to be an Assassin. Plus, Oomaq already has some racial Climb abilities which would be enhanced. Sleight of Hand as a Bonus action (Fast Hands) is pretty great. He can do something else (like Climb or Grapple) and then snatch something while he does that.

Well I really don't need the gem. I'll take the statue to sell in its stead.

I'm gonna buy a healing kit and a wagon for the donkey to pull. Most of my funds will be going to that sort of stuff. Maybe I'll look at a new weapon but I'm not 100% on that yet.

In that time, can we decipher/read the scrolls? How does that work in 5e?

One gem each? I'll take Zircon, 'cause it starts with a 'Z'.

I'll give my share of the gems up and take the statue and dice if everyone is fine with that.

Maybe take the Sardonyx @ThreeBFour there are two. You could make earrings haha.

It is an arcana check DC based on spell level. After which an arcane caster can cast an arcane spell or copy it to their spell book. Gage could case them, or the group could sell them. They are quite valuable.

@Swrider
Are you wanting us to choose a living expense for the week? Or will we be staying at the temple?

As far as purchases go I think I'm going to buy a wagon and chest as well as the healing kit. I'll probably look at buying more but for now that's what I'm leaning towards. The wagon will be able to carry 2100 lbs if the donkey drags it. Minus 400 lbs for the weight of the wagon. I might also get fishing tackle and a two person tent.

The purchases will probably be more based on where our adventure takes us and what we will need.

They actually fit perfectly with the next quest.

No need to determine living expenses. Accommodations can be at the barracks, or the inn. We will call it a wash as it would only be measured in the silver or may a single gold or two.

Ill put up the next IC with the introduction to the next mission, but if there is any role play in town or with finishing up this mission I would like to get that finished first.

Just purchases and the 3rd level monk stuff. I'm fine with handling that ooc.

So am I good to take the statue and dice instead of a gem? I figure our magic user will want the scrolls.

Alsoside question for you @swrider is there a big difference between the cart and wagon? Besides cost of course. Because I imagine we took a cart to carry the unconscious party members back. If I can hook the donkey to the cart I'll just keep that and save the gold.

you can ride a wagon. A cart gets pulled and you walk in front of it.

Looks like I'll shell out the gold for the wagon. Could we sell the cart we brought back or trade it to reduce the cost of the wagon? Either way is fine by me.

Cart is 15gp which drops it to 12gp.
Also for the statue and dice the number you put next to them are their value correct? Or was that quantity? They didn't have a coin type next to them.

Oh and how much are the spell components for the Paladin? Need a small silver mirror for one, and holy water(already know the cost) silver and iron dust.

Also what deities can I choose from for my dwarf Paladin? Is there a certain realm to stay within? I forgot that my holy symbol can be used as a focus.... at least for the spells that don't consume the materials needed.

I'm leaning towards Heironeous, God of chivalry and valor; LG; Symbol: Lightning Bolt. It's one of the Deities of Greyhawk like Pelor.

Oomaq will take the two Sardonyx if that works, and will pay for half the wagon if that works for you @kanila?

@swrider can we also exchange our copper and silver pieces for gold to lighten up weight of coinage? Other than using them to pay for items as well?
