Re: City of Corin and Beyond
Thanks! It took a while to find something that wasn't a dystopian metropolis. Corin is (was?) a few thousand people, not skyscrapers and starports.Boutrose Saba-Norr wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 9:31 amLove the images for corin, it’s looking eerie as hell.
Once people settle up on XP (or, I'll give it a day or two) I can finish up the idea. I have time today to add some more to it.

I’m actually going to hold onto my 10 xp so that I can buy the introduce contact talent later.
Also about the duty thing I know we can get a rarity 5 item but what about can we get in price?

Re: City of Corin and Beyond
I see no restriction on Price and Restricted items are at the GM's discretion. I'd just suggest something customizable to the character. I have the idea just to uncover items amongst the bad guys we obtain, which includes what pc's may want. Or, you can wait on them. Maybe run into Alliance members and be gifted something.Boutrose Saba-Norr wrote: ↑Sat Sep 08, 2018 6:26 pmI’m actually going to hold onto my 10 xp so that I can buy the introduce contact talent later.

Re: City of Corin and Beyond
Cool, I’ll have to think about what Thino might want, I already got the hacking tools so maybe not the code breaker but I’ll have to try and think if there is anything else that would really help out his private eye aesthetic.
Re: City of Corin and Beyond
Looks like using sensors is an Easy check by default (AOR CRB p. 239). Please let me know if this particular check is somehow harder or needs setbacks applied and I'll add them to the roll.

Re: City of Corin and Beyond
DS, can the radiation detector be used actively, like ship's sensors? That was my intent. As I understand the sensor rules, only active use requires a roll.

Cool; that's what Vesper did. It may make no difference on the "no radiation detected," but I wanted to be sure.DeepSpacer wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 2:49 pmActive use as in, make a roll and extend range in one direction by one range band? Sure.

Re: City of Corin and Beyond
Also I’m heavily debating whether to make a survival or perception roll based on the fact that Thino is a tracker with talents that benefit survival, but has a rank of training in perception. What do you guys think I should go for thematically, I feel that Thino being an expert private eye would always be on the lookout for potential signs of habitation, espeacially in a place where there shouldn’t be, so I should be able to use expert tracker to remove the setback, but if that’s potentially too metagamey I can make the perception check.
Re: City of Corin and Beyond
Doesn't sound metagamey to me. The game is designed to allow overlap among skills, so what one character would do with Perception, Thino is just going to do with Survival. The approach might vary slightly, but I don't think there's anything wrong with using the skill you feel most comfortable with. (I'll have Vesper roll Vigilance once DS comments on whether it makes a difference that Vesper used the sensor actively.)Boutrose Saba-Norr wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 4:31 pmAlso I’m heavily debating whether to make a survival or perception roll based on the fact that Thino is a tracker with talents that benefit survival, but has a rank of training in perception. Yes you can. As it says, one check oer session. This would be in addition to the prescribed check. Expert Tracker Talent removes a SB, too.Boutrose Saba-Norr wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 4:23 pmDeepSpacer would I be able to use improved street smarts in this town?
I figure that whichever skill a player uses will help determine the kind of clue that they find. it also lets the player choose between removing the setback die with some Talent OR potentially using a skill one might have a rank in or two.

Re: City of Corin and Beyond
Cool, then I’m definitely going to use survival, I’ll type up the post now, I should really buy ranks in survival from the amount I use it, but I really want to save for that next talent.
Real quick I’m going to check how much it would be for me to get survival (if it’s a career skill or not) and if it is I think that I should buy a rank in it considering the number of times I actually use it it doesn’t make sense for the character to not be improving in it.

Re: City of Corin and Beyond
so it is not a career skill, but i just checked, i should have a rank in survival already due to being a rodian, so i can't afford to get another one and i'll still save that 10 xp, but i am still rolling yel grngrn
Made the check, three successes and two threats, thino is currently not on a bike in case you want to use that for the threats.

Hell; Uprising; Perception:
1 Success, 2 Threats, 1 Triumph,
The result of this roll will greatly affect the narration so I thought it best to post here and get results before posting IC.

Nice! 3 Successes 1 Threat for Vesper's Vigilance. (That 10 XP paid off!) We're rolling well; let's hope it continues.

Good call! I was going to let the rolls determine where it goes. Could've been all failed rolls and we walk around a long time. Or....we find something essential to the adventure. I'll wait for the other rolls to piece it all together. @SanguineAngel Things are looking good for the players!swrider wrote: ↑Mon Sep 10, 2018 11:01 pmHell; Uprising; Perception:

Ok feel free to narrate for Hell as the results will largely dictate what he has to say.DeepSpacer wrote: ↑Tue Sep 11, 2018 2:36 amGood call! I was going to let the rolls determine where it goes. Re: OOC: City of Corin and Beyond
Sorry for the delay, everyone. M-T-W were all long work days and past-midnight bedtimes for me as I wound down afterwards. Things are freeing up Thurs-Fri. I am in Virginia and the east coast hurricane watch has been quite disruptive to the normal workweek.
