I like both our descriptions of the space, I feel like the one for Thino is his perception of the place based on his experiences and yours is what he sees after he starts looking around. It will please him that this place isn’t one with a lot of downtrodden people, it will give him a more congenial demeanor towards whoever we have to interact with here.DeepSpacer wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 12:24 amGood roll! You don't start off on the wrong foot. Good narration. Skip Tracer is very much about doing these things. Does Thino relate his observations to the rest of us? Then one of us can approach the Gran cook maybe.

Re: OOC - "The Assault on Ione"
1) the idea with the Streetwise check is that Thino knows who to talk to for info in this type of environment. Cooks, and the like, typically interact with everyone. Yes, it is a group check, but it is basically Thino coming to this conclusion. I dislike having 4-5 PC's all roll checks....it slows down the (pbp) game too much, IMO.Boutrose Saba-Norr wrote: ↑Mon Jul 30, 2018 10:00 pmWithout turning to address them so as to not draw attention, Thino speaks quietly to the group, “so, tell me what you all see”
2) That said, I am all about possibilities!!! Several players have Perceptions skills, so all who wish to roll may do so. Difficulty is AVG (DD + S) One Setback die for things being concealed somewhat by buildings, tarps, people, and such. With some good rolls, something unexpected/interesting may be observed!!!)
I'll have it as Thino, Oona, Lanna, Kettel, Helios, and Vesper with the five Alliance soldiers in regular clothing. Ronin and Helios' pet on ship with Lt. Pitts (who is cuffed).
Re: OOC - "The Assault on Ione"
Instead of a general see-what-we-see kind of thing, Vesper would be interested in the level of sanitation in the settlement. Any sign of ditches? Sewage? Trash piled up? Vermin? Is this sort of stuff obvious or is Perception in order?

Same perception check.
You're following my train of thought. Each check lets me reveal something pertinent to each individual character. ....or not. .

Lanna could care less about the settlement. The inhabitants, OTOH, is something she would pay close attention to...

having identified the cook as the most likely source of information, thino would likely be interested in finding out more about them and the area surrounding them.
but wouldn't notice anything extra

No sign on any permanent sanitation system, just temporary means such as ditches and a likely refuge pile outside the camp. A successful Perception check could reveal more details around the camp..

Lovely bit of character chatter going on!
Hope DS gives me a little something for my perception check - it might have gotten lost in the (delightful), chatter.

Hey, @DeepSpacer, I think @SanguineAngel's Perception check got overlooked?

Re: OOC - "The Assault on Ione"
Simply the expected shady types as described at the beginning. No one "noticeably" threatening. No gangs. No one wearing 'colors' or symbols. No one giving off obvious signs of anything, but merely checking us out as we come by. The Perception checks were to see if anyone noticed something of consequence to their character, including threats. Her success allowed her to notice the logo on some storage crates.
Re: OOC - "The Assault on Ione"
Cool; just making sure. For some reason I thought we were waiting on that to resolve before moving on.

Hell is going off drinking again! LOL with as big of an alcoholic my character is you would think I actually drink.
Re: OOC - "The Assault on Ione"
Stay out of trouble!
Vesper's buying one piece of bread for each of us, plus a tip. That's her +1 Boost die to whomever wants to do the social check on this guy provided DS is cool with that.
She got one Success on the Xenology check. Maybe enough to at least remember these guys are Gran, but anything more?

(1 Success) Gran have a close-knitted family life and struggle off-world. They very rarely leave their home planet. It makes sense to have a group of Gran staying together.

i want to make a social check, i don't think we have the setback any more, if i go first then i can use my advantages in case of failure to downgrade oona's social check after that.
what do you think @SanguineAngel

lol yea it should be, just the fact that my skill is called good cop and your spec is called the agitator makes it too good thematically to pass up.SanguineAngel wrote: ↑Thu Aug 09, 2018 8:19 amSounds like a good plan. I think this could be Standard Operating Procedure for us

Re: OOC - "The Assault on Ione"
Thanks! Thought it might be an interesting approach. Felt more AoR too.
Yeah, I think Oona quite respects, and perhaps is a bit jealous of, Thino's way with people. So far he's managed to charm most people he's come across. It makes sense to me that they'd fall into a pattern of working like this. Especially as I'm trying to play her as a little tighter wound, socially speaking.
