Re: Klaverjassen OOC
I edited the post to include an attack.
Re: Klaverjassen OOC
I screwed up my damage roll by clicking the "Roll Single d20" button. The roll was 9 on a d12 and 15 on the erronious d20. Since I screwed it up, I rolled again for the sake of expediency and you can choose which really happened. *secretly hopes you choose the original roll because it was more than twice the damage, although it doesn't matter if the will-o-wisp succeeds on the wisdom saving through*

Re: Klaverjassen OOC
Alright so I know that I’ve already acquired a war horse but hear me out on this. Since Thew’Ruk isn’t raging he would have had the presence of mind and wisdom to notice that the wolves never meant to draw us into this conflict in the first place and that they were as much victims of the lights trap as we were.
If possible I’d like to try to do a first aid or some sort on the wolf you said was bleeding at Thew’Ruk’s feet and then use an animal handling check to make it friendly towards us.

Animal handling only works on domesticated animals In this edition. You can do first aid DC 10 to stabilize the animal and keep it unconcious.

Re: Klaverjassen OOC
Ok I’ll try that, what would I use to domesticate an animal in order to be able to use animal handling?
Re: Klaverjassen OOC
The only cannon way to do that is with druid spells. You would need to improve the animals attitude towards you first. Right now it is hostile.

Re: Klaverjassen OOC
cool cool, i'm about to make the role, and I know I cant tame the wolf, still, it has given me things to think about. My next DND homebrew is definitely going to be a barbarian animal handler subclass after i finish the bard one i'm working on.

So medicine checks count as death saving thoughts except they don't count against. So on the wolfs turn it will make a death save. It takes three fails to die and three saves to stabilize. With treatment it is much more likely to live. That being said the cleric probably has the spare the dying can trip he could use to automatically stabilize the wolf.

A re read of the rules shows that a successful medicine check does in fact stabilize a creature. So one successful medicine check removes need for any death saves. Remember there are two dying wolves only one is outright dead.
Re: Klaverjassen OOC
We are now in unstructured time. It is the morning of the day after you left the city. You still have two carts of decaying bodies behind you. A mix of both barbarian and members of the order.
Re: Klaverjassen OOC
Is it possible to tame a wolf? Or do we just leave them here since they are stable?

Re: Klaverjassen OOC
Its all good. It is easy to do, but it was too much to just quote into one post.
I do want to be clear that I am not saying it can't be done. It just wont occur with a single roll or over a short period of time. That is the reason that the monster manuals in 3.5 specified which creatures could be tamed and often listed prices for the young or eggs of those creatures. Creatures raised from birth are a lot easier to train.
Your question was slightly different in that you asked if you could "tame" the wolf. taming is defiantly possible. Domestication is a genetic change in a species brought on by selective breading of desired characteristics. Domestication would take a few wolf generations and result in a dog. That being said I don't believe the use of "Domestication" in the animal handling skill was meant to be that specific.
I am operating under the impression that you all are going to continue your trip back to the city. I figured you might want to talk a little on the trip, but if that is not the case let me know and I can narrate forward.

Re: Klaverjassen OOC
The topic of taming wild animals is very interesting, and given our current issue with the term domesticated I might ask the question to the game developers on twitter, they are usually very responsive to the community there.
As for current situation, thew’ruk Would be most concerned with making sure that these two wolves will get back to their family, is their a way that he can signal to the other wolves that everything is safe and to come look after their fallen.

Yes. Returning to the city.
IMO, there's probably Animal Friendship spells to do such a thing in a nearly-instant time. Otherwise, I think it'd take time as described above.
Re: Klaverjassen OOC
Animal friend ship make animals friendly and give you advantage on handle animal checks. The second part also suggest they allow animal handling checks on any charmed animal.
