Gah! I'm gonna look at my book when I get home. Looks like one more game couldn't hurt THAT much haha.

I will say I'm a little disappointed in the fact that they don't offer a PDF version of the book like Piazo does for the Pathfinder/Starfinder books.

I play with a regular group they might have a pdf of the book, if I don’t already have one, I’ll check in a little bit.

Serious question now, I don’t usually play characters that are the most min-maxey likening to play characters that are more fun instead, so would there be an issue with playing a Half Orc bard?

Also for anyone new to dnd 5th and might be needing some assistance with character creation I would recommend checking out the website dnd beyond, it is as strait forward and easy to use as oggdudes but is an official character creator, the only downside being that most things beyond basic character creation are locked behind a paywall. So it will help you get started. It you’ll have to figure out how to do leveling yourself unless you only want to use the limited abilities it has from the core book.

Nope go ahead. In my live games i ban bards because they tend to make their players annoying. No such rule in pbp.

Oh man, why the bard hate in real life though, they’re the best class.

Also for character creation do you want players to stick to the core book due to wanting to make it easier for newer players?

I hope not. While I still need to go through the Core Book, some of the sub-races in Unearthed Arcana look interesting as do those in the EE Player's Guide.

How will attributes be calculated? Point buy, or roll dice?

Standard preset attributes according to the starting post in Character Guidelines, 15 down to 8 listed in the core book.

I so far see a possible Half-orc Bard and a Human Warlock. Does anybody else have a rough idea of what they want to play and is there anything that is needed for play?

Honestly don’t count my bard idea if you want to play one, I’m starting to think about how I’m playing one in my in person game and I don’t want to get them confused so I’m thinking of a different concept.

Between D&D and Pathfinder, I can't say I have ever wanted to play a Bard. Nothing against them in a party, just never wanted too.....lol

@swrider Are there human variants (races) in your lands or just "humans"? The variety are all confusing to me...SO many choices. I just want a common human, I think. I looked at Elf a bit, too.

My campaigns are always in my own universe. I don't read enough of the lore to set them in any specific universe. You are therefore on the material plane. Any deity you wish to exist can.

Humans are humans or variant humans (as far as stats go) everything else is just flavor.

Didn't know if there was a map of the world 🗺 I could use for background names.
