When the hail of gunire erupts behind her, Oona backpedals out of the line of fire frantically. She sees the officer go down but the white clad Stormtrooper still stands, returning fire. She grabs blindly at her holster as she stumbles back, drawing it and firing wildly at the enemy.

Maneuver 1: Move from Engaged to Short range of Stormtrooper
Maneuver 2: Draw weapon. 2 Strain

The last Stormtrooper takes a projectile to the shoulder, but (even with the pierce) he remains standing (15/15 WT for the minion group) and prepares to return fire against his foes.

The last Stormtrooper ducks the last few shots from Thino as he considers his options. Deciding against further action (5:1 odds, weaponless...), the adversary raises his arms in the air to signify 'surrender'.

{{ PC's can decide on their options. 1) take the turret and use it in combat, or 2) disable the turret and go on to something else. }}

Out of structured time (for now).

Vesper barely sees the stormtrooper surrender as the pain from the blaster bolts overwhelms her system. Ears ringing, she manages to find a couple of stimpacks among her things. She jabs them both into her leg, hitting a vein. The medicines hit her bloodstream, and the pain subsides somewhat. A dull ringing reminds her that she needs to check herself over when things calm down.

Oona quickly looks about for anything to restrain the Stormtrooper, first checking the Officer's body for any restraints and tossing the officer's code cylinder to Thino as she does so.

{@DeepSpacer would the officer have binders? Or is there anything I can use lying around (wires, rope, etc.)? She wouldn't spend more than a few seconds looking before physically grabbing the stormtrooper to make sure they don't do anything stupid.}

"Get over here!" Finding a pair of binders on the officer, she snarls and grabs the stormtrooper roughly, pulling him over to her, "Just you try something, you piece of - hmf!" She slaps the binders over one hand. Her breathing is short, the adrenlaline still pumping through her system. "You're damn lucky you're not dead..." She winds the binders through the nearest railing and fastens the loose end to his other hand. The feeling in her stomach as the immediate danger passes is unsettling. "After what you did.... you should be ashamed!" She slams her hand into his shoulder. Her heart is pounding, blood rushing in her ears. She can barely see through tears welling up. She punches the trooper's chest, "Were you out there?" Smack "Did you have your part in clearing out the city?" Smack

"Do you know the pain and suffering you, you personally, have caused? How can you live with yourself!" She grabs his helmet and shouts into his visor, "These people are supposed to be under your protection. But you torture them and execute them. There's a landfill of bodies out there and that blood is on your hands!" Her spit hits his helmet. "You're pathetic. You're all pathetic. How can you be surprised when we rise up to oppose you? You aren't human." She pauses and sneers, genuine disgust, "So pleased with yourself for an accident of birth, aren't you? You aren't people at all. You're monsters. Every last one of you!" She screams the last, turning her head upward to they can hear her upstairs and throws his head back against the wall with more than a little force. "Argh!" The frustration and anger hammer to be let out. All the cruel words she can muster don't help. She roars and turns away, not meeting anyone's eye. Breathing heavily, waiting for her heart to slow, for her stomach to settle.

The lone Trooper's visage remains unchanged except for the helmet turning slightly askew from the slap. The Trooper otherwise replies with silence as he is bound to the railing, unable to affect anything from there. (The group acquires his two grenades.)

The turbolift gives a sudden jolt as it appears to be functional again. No sign of the personnel above. Aittle hesitant from taking in Oona's outburst, Sgt. Braxx asks, "Sirs, how should we secure the area? And should we stay below or come with you?"

Back in the communications center, the personnel become a bit more uneasy. These very recent events are far from the normal, mundane daily operations of a fueling depot. Rebel attack? Admiral Cardot? Spies? New Orders? The pressure of the situation gets the best of them. They try to contact Commander Bullard and The Serator, but to no effect. Their efforts somewhat garble transmissions even further (2 Threats = +1 SB to Mass Combat).

Soldiers Braxx and Kwist secure the lower level. Using the code cylinder, they lock the outer door and prepare a barricade for a possible Imperial assault.

The group ascends on the repulsor lift with great anticipation of what awaits them above. However, there is no anticipated conflict as it appears the gunnery crew has abandoned their post. Where could they have gone? Perhaps they went through the side door which leads to a ladder on the exterior of the tower!

A brief moment of concern over their flight is interrupted by a klaxon from the gunnery controls. Several approaching targets have set off the alerts on the scanners. Various small starfighters (Headhunters, some T-series starfighters, etc…) are being pursued by a handful of Imperial TIE Fighters. They are entering from orbit, at about a 35-degree angle towards the base.

Failed to communicate through jammer.
Helios & Dennies are unaware of the approaching Starfighter until they nearly pass by, emitting the trademark “scream” of the TIE Fighter engines as they go overhead. The ground-based personnel were caught unaware of the approaching threat and are only now heading for transports to the airfield. Those transports are close targets, but not loaded. However, all AT-ST weapons have a forward firing arc. You can target a transport or the TIEs, but not both. Only what's "in front" of you.

From the AT-ST, they can attempt to shoot down TIEs in the air with a passing shot each from the two sets of cannons. One by Helios, one by Dennies. Easy Difficulty. Targeting the transport is also EASY + 2 Boosts for being so close and stationary.
+2 Setback dice due to having to adjust your firing angle upward and the TIE’s rapid speed.

The aiming of the AT-ST's nose downward towards the nearby personnel transports (two each side, left & right) draws some unwanted attention. 2-3 Imperials standing nearby raise their arms as if inquiring about what you are doing. Some point to the pathway the previous AT-ST took as if to motion you to go in that direction. (Yes, Dennies and Helios could each target a separate transport).

Oona jumps into the seat by the command console, her anger dissipating now that no one is actively shooting at her. The screen lights up with incoming contacts and Oona immediately begins feeding critical information about all targets to the others. All the while, Oona runs a swift analysis on the turret, identifying potential weaknesses for use against the 2nd tower

Maneuver: {Unsure if I am able to use a maneuver to assist in this situation? I wasn't sure from your previous OOC.}
Action: Fire Discipline {Pass Image to the gunnery check. I'd like to use the triumph to incur system strain on the target in addition to the damage as per Fire Discipline suggested use for 3 adv, since there are no other quilaities to activate.}

"You'll need eyes on that tower if we're gonna hit it. The computers won't lock on." Vesper runs to the exit hatch where the gunnery crew presumably fled from. She pokes her head through and looks for any sign of the crew.

Vesper sees two smoldering wrecks (of what used to be transports) not too far away by the barracks. Near the lower level of this turret, she sees two gunnery crew members descending down an external ladder. The screams of TIE Fighters fills the air.

Oona knows that a hit of this nature from a turbolaser will shred (Breach 2) most anything it hits. instead, the Triumph may be used to upgrade the gunnery check.

Thino uses Vesper's directions as a guidepost, manually adjusting his targeting to line up with where she said it would be. Then aiming twice he smiles and speaks in his native Rodian, "Somoenes about to have a real bad day." He fires the turret.

The opposing turret on the other side of the airfield explodes with a shower of debris, flames, and sparks. However, the turret we are in appears stuck in that leveled position. It will take some work to 'unstuck' it. With both turrets effectively out-of-play, an advantage goes to the incoming pirate forces.

Meanwhile, the overhead dogfighting gives alert to the ground forces of what is going on since radio communications did not.
Spoiler:
Despair = stuck an additional round. Mechanics check ImageImageImage to undo.

Since the weapon is already slow-firing-1, it may be an opportune time to move to another way to affect the battle. Or, ride it out in the turret gunning at the opposition.

The targets above run into an unexpected encounter with an Imperial Dreadnaught in orbit. The accompanying allotments of TIE Fighters are formidable opponents. But, due to the element of surprise, tactical information, and the lack of communication on the Imperial forces part, the battle begins slightly in the ally’s favor. Command ability is in the empire’s favor and the force composition is equal in size. High above the Fuel depot, the battle turns in the ally's favor. The base’s TIE forces have yet to join the fight.

Oona, Vesper, Thino and crew set off grenades in critical places at the tower, rendering the turret useless. They head off in the speeder truck to join their allies in the AT-ST. The "battlefield" is ablaze with four smoldering vehicles in front of the barracks area. It is apparent that Helios and Dennies accomplished what they had set out to do! Vision, in some respects, is obscured from the smoke. The speeder truck pc's are unaware if pilot of the AT-ST recognizes them as friend or foe, at this point.

The PC's in the speeder truck come around to join Helios in the AT-ST just in time to see two Imperial Hover Tanks with turret-mounted light blaster cannons on top of them. They are closest to the AT-ST and they came from around the side of the barracks. They appear to be targeting the rogue AT-ST. The Rebel Soldiers (npc's) will go on the accompanying PC turns. (Dennies with Helios) For this initiative, that is all that is seen. Any troops that were about when the transports were destroyed have retreated either inside or behind the barracks. The barracks is only about 40 meters wide on the front side.

"Take your shot" Helios yells to Dennis as he pushes the vehicle to full speed. Helios attempts to push the vehicle further but failes to manipulate the strange vehicles systems in the appropriate manner. The shot fires wide as the vehicle lurches forward and Helios makes a bee line for the side of the barracks hoping to duck behind cover before the tanks could get a shot off. He continues to push the vehicle as far as it can go maneuvering to the far side of the barracks hoping to keep out of line of site if the tanks roll around the side after him
