To the side, Kettel consoles Lanna,"“I had only heard stories of the savage brutality Trandoshans inflict upon the Wookiee…..but to see their savagery first-hand? I understand the hatred you have for them. So sorry." as he pats the tall Wookiee on the shoulder.

"Their kind needs to be opposed in all corners of the galaxy! Unfortunately, the Empire licenses these activities."
Then he leans in and whispers, "We must complete our mission so that we can help bring the Empire to an end.”

Lanna growls and gestures towards the heavily-wounded human (Kzar) standing near the Weequay corpses.

"Yeah, you can see my colleague here took the brunt of the assault. I can give him medical attention, but I do wonder if we've been led astray by Mexeluine's claims that it's safe and secure for merchants like us... Am I wrong?"

"Merchants, eh!. What is your name, mad'am? I see that you are all first-time visitors to Mexeluine! Typically, Mexeluine is quite safe, although there are crime syndicates that operate in the sector. They typically aren't so brazen in public with their underhanded dealings. I suspect these were lone operatives. Independent. The Ivax Syndicate would punish fools who jeopardize their operations with such savage, public displays."

"Let us go to a more appropriate place. "
The gold-skinned merchant looks over to Ronin Wayne, too. "First to get.....help for....." gesturing to Kzar. "What name to you go by? So sorry for your wounds. Let's get them taken care of! There is a renowned healer not to far from here. Afterwards, we can discuss what you have come to Mexeluine for. Business, must go on!"

"I offer you my gratitude for anything you can do to assist us. As Vesper said, we are but simple merchants. Unfortunate victims of violence." says Captain Kettel. "I am Jameis Kettel. Indeed, it is our first time on Mexeluine."

On the way to the healers, Marax and the human Marax referred to as 'Mr. Wayne' pick up their discussion. The assistant Ezry stays behind to clean up the situation in the streets. Group members clearly hear Marax and Wayne talking about the threat of the Empire to the Outer Rim, the Rebellion, and what should be done in the Anoat Sector about it. Again, Wayne encourages him to lend direct support to the Rebellion before it is too late.

The healer's place is more like a garden, inhabiting a building. Inside is an Ithorian dressed in robes. he introduces himself as Muhmed. Indeed, he is somewhat more knowledgeable that Vesper,
but Vesper has more professional training in her background.
Spoiler:
Vesper can make a Medicine check to heal the wounds of Kzar. Through the Ithorian's "Skilled Assistance", she can utilize the Ithorian's 4 INT for the roll. A youthful human male apprentice will prepare the bandages, yielding +1 Boost. AVG (2 Diff) check since between 50-100% of WT.
The scene progresses to an upscale cantina. Its symbol is a succession of three glasses with blue drink. At first, the staff is hesitant at the site of the group, but Marax gives them a nod to proceed as normal. After taking a seat..."THIS is Ronin Wayne. Before we were interrupted, he was warning me of the evils of the Galactic Empire in the Core Worlds."

Turning to the group....
"I offer you my gratitude for doing away with those savage beings. I am grateful the violence did not spread beyond that street. Peace and safety are necessities for good business. Now... what is it you "merchants" came to Mexeluine to do? I will lend my assistance in whatever way I can."

Vesper starts by injecting Kzar with a stimpack. She then helps the Ithorian and his assistant mend the man further.
Spoiler:
Vesper Reshari; Uprising; Medicine (assisted):
2 Successes, 0 Advantage

ImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

With Stimpack Specialist, Kzar heals 6 wounds. Then with Surgeon 1 + the Medicine successes, he gets 3 more Wounds healed, no?
As Vesper works, she tries to make pointed small talk with he Ithorian. "So, this Marax guy is something else. What's the word on him?"

Vesper finishes putting away her equipment as she speaks. "In the Core. University, actually. Thought I'd be a sports star, but an injury saw to that. Now I try to help others when they get hurt." She smiles. "But I can tell you know what you're doing, though. How'd you end up on Mexeluine? "

(@Vesper) "I prefer to grow most of what I use. They call you Vesper, correct? Mexeluine has the luxury of being a technically-advanced planet that has not turned its entire surface into durasteel structures and given its climate over to artificial atmospheric machines. As such, it allows me to maintain a small, natural habitat here to create products for medicinal use and also a larger farming habitat in the countryside."

Vesper grins as Kzar speaks. "Ah, sorry about the poke. But good to see you responsive again! I think Muhmed's oils made a difference. The others have gone ahead to meet with a local merchant lord. I'll head that way in a few minutes."

She turns to the Ithorian. "I studied a bit about herbal medicine in school, but I've never had the chance to make much use of it. You've got good stuff here. Would you be willing to trade me some of your poultices and unguents? I'd be happy to trade out some of the stuff from my kit, and to pay the difference for what's left over."

"Thank the Maker!" says the Ithorian. During this time the Ithorian has been communicating through an adaptive device, as Ithorians are incapable of speaking Basic with their double mouths. "Gratifying, it is, to trade knowledge with one who appreciates the medicinal uses that life provides us! Your compensation will be used to fulfill the Law of Life. "For each life extinguished, two must be planted in its place." By fulfilling the law, we will ensure a perpetual supplies of medicines for the common use."

For a cost of 150 credits, Muhmed will complete the exchange with Vesper, effectively upgrading your kit to the one you desired. The transaction concludes about the same time that the ringing in Kzar's head begins to subside. Muhmed brings out a small tray of a type of tree bark and places it in the center of the table. "Let us meditate before you go, yes?" he says, looking at Kzar and Vesper. "Then you can rejoin your friends."

With that, Muhmed sets flame to a piece of bark and a pleasing aroma fills the air. He begins to settle into a cross-legged position on the floor.

Vesper closes her upgraded medkit and prepares to leave when the Ithorian begins his meditation. "Uh... We're actually running a little behind our colleagues, but..." But a guilty conscience gets the better of her. "Kzar, feel free to go on ahead. I'll be along." Vesper sits on the floor and mimics the Ithorian's posture. Unsure how to meditate, she sits respectfully silent.
Spoiler:
If the meditation goes on for more than a few minutes, Vesper will politely excuse herself and leave.

It is but a few minutes of peaceful meditation....harmonizing with nature...breathing in the vapors....deeply and peacefully. After just a few minutes

""Convey to your friend, Kzar, that I am not offended. The meditative arts are not for everyone." says Muhmed as he gets up from the floor. He holds up his hand as a gesture for 'Good-Bye'. "Again, Marax should be able to direct you towards your other needs. Be Well and Prosper, Vesper! And may our paths cross again!" With that you proceed to join the others.

The 'technician' is a male Rodian, dressed as you would expect a technician to be dressed.....adorned by tools and gadgetry. He nods and stays off to the side. In the room are Lord Marax, Ronin Wayne, Thino Krist, Cpt. Kettel, Lanna, and the recently arriving Kzar followed shortly by Vesper. Two of Marax's guards and an assistant wait nearby. In the meantime, before the arrival of Kzar and Vesper, refreshments have been brought forth for those who desire such.

Upon hearing the talkative man's *open declaration* of being member of the Rebellion, Cpt. Kettel shoots a glance to his team members at the table. His head raises up, his neck extending slightly, and sits up a bit straighter in his seat.....but says nothing to give away the group's cover. "The Empire takes what it wants, from what I've heard. They strike even when there is no rebellion to quench. They covet what they see and take as they please."

Vesper settles into the booth, shooting an apologetic glance to Kettel. Her eyes convey the message: I can explain.

Then, under her breath to Kettel and Lanna, she says, "What the hell's going on here? I thought we had shopping to do..."

Between the light, background music of the cantina and the man called Ronin going on with Marax about the Empire (somewhat rudely dictating the conversation into what HE wants to talk about), whispered conversation seem secure enough.

"We're well on schedule for delivery. These things often take a few days."

"This guy Ronin and his Rodian friend say they are with the Rebellion....from the Core Worlds. Do you think they are legit? Imperial spies?"

"I'd rather not risk it," she whispers back. "We're here for supplies, not allies." Then, raising her voice so all can here, Vesper says, "Sorry, gentles. I came in a bit late. But it seems we have two different conversations going on here. My colleagues and I were just assaulted out there in the market square, and we've got business to do. I'm already out 150 credits and a stimpack for medical expenses, so this world is looking less and less attractive with each minute that passes. Lord Marax is it? Can we talk business?"
