It is a period of peace.
It has been nearly 1.5 centuries
since the Jedi Freedan Nadd
vanished after slaying his master
and renouncing the Jedi Order.

In that time, the Republic
has grown stronger, spreading
to more and more worlds with
the Jedi existing as keepers of
the peace and negotiators.

On Umbara, Jedi Master
Seer Curvian has accepted
a crop of Jedi initiates,
who she hopes will aid the
Jedi in the future troubles
she has foreseen.

Her new initiates are pulled
from their studies when
the Republic asks Master
Curvian to attend a trade
summit between the Hutt
Clans and the Republic on
Ruusan...




Players: 4 to 5



Basic Premise: Force sensitive PCs, although they do not need to take the Jedi themed (FaD) Talent trees if they don't wish to. Using one of the Universal Talent trees that give a Force rating is fine, although I don't really anticipate anyone doing that. PCs have just completed a majority of their padawan training on Coruscant or Dantooine and have been sent to Curvin's Praxeum for final training and Knighthood trials.



Campaign Goals: Mix of combat and RP. Hopefully 50/50, but this will be the first campaign I'll have written from scratch. Combat will probably gravitate toward Clone Wars style fights, so not super balanced, to represent that beings will recognize Jedi and react accordingly. There is a set end for the campaign, not in a railroad sense but in the sense of events occurring tangentially to the PCs and coming to a head.



Starting XP: 60XP extra, for use after character creation (so no ability score modification with it). The PCs have trained heavily as students, but still have a long way to go before being really accomplished. All Force powers with minimum requirement of FR1 can be purchased with the mentor discount.



Starting Gear: No specific starting gear, other than generic robes, heavy clothing, and training lightsabers. Other gear can be provided depending on the scenario, or not, depending on how training goes and what Curvin is wanting the students to learn. The training lightsabers are Curvin's, and the PCs will get the build their own, although not for the first few stories/episodes/chapters.



Unlimited Power Mystic Sourcebook: When the book eventually releases (IDK, sometime between now and Christmas hopefully), if anyone finds a Talent tree in there that they are just dying to run, I will allow reshuffling of XP to let them start with that one instead, if they wish. As someone who likes GMs who do this for me, I'd like to extend this olive branch to anyone in my game.

4 or 5, it's in the OP :P

However, I'm at least a couple months from starting, don't have anything but the opening "episode" done, and I like to loosely plan out arcs before running games.


I do have an intended ending point for this game, but after this one ends I hope to start another that lets the PCs start as full fledged Jedi Knights, either set in the Jedi Civil War, the First Great Schism, or during the thousand years of war with the Sith from 2000bby to 1000bby. This game is my way of seeing what a Jedi enough XP to focus on Force or lightsaber stuff to a strong degree looks like, so I can know what I'm getting into.

Pretty much. I've never GM'd for Force users before, and I have no idea what challenges it will present me.

OK, so I updated the OP with actual information.

ThreeBFour, DeepSpacer, and probably Shado are who I have down for this game so far.

If you have any questions, let me know. I have the first chapter done, and I'm shooting it to friends for their input and editing, and I'm almost done with the second chapter. Third I'm still getting nailed down. After that, it will be a couple of stories for lightsaber creation based on each PC, so those I can't do till I know more of the characters.

I don't wanna rush the gun and create a section, since Im still waiting for Shado's return and at least one more bite. That said if you wanna bounce backgrounds/character ideas off me here, go for it.

Yeah, the PCs will have 60Xp, they'll be fresh off Coruscant or Dantooine, and are with Curvian for more in-depth training. A la the apprentices in Tales of the Jedi

How do you adjust starting XP in OggDude's? I'm assuming that the 60xp is our staring amount, no matter the species?

No, that's extra. I'll make that clear, sorry, meant that was the bonus to starting XP, can't be spent on ability scores

I was knocking around ideas today in my head. Perhaps Guardian Defender or Warden. So that seems to avoid overlapping with your concepts.

I kinda like the ideas of either a Jedi techie or Jedi scout type with the animal companion added in eventually.
