Yeah, I was thinking maybe Streetwise to find them. Take Caspo to help with shopping then.

BA's streetwise isn't good, but he'll help someone with it if someone else is coming with him.

Not Restricted, as I can tell from the listings. Streetwise is for illicit stuff. Monty hasa 3 Presence., so combined Neg. check can be GGG+Boost.

Caspo has a rank in Negotiation and 3 Presence. It's one of his primary functions. :-)

Ah yeah, BA will grab the droid when he heads out.

So it would be YGG+B then, what's the difficulty

EASY for any. Coruscant is a place of plenty.

Tha is for pointing that (Caspo) out.

Excellent. Just say the Succ/Advs say everything is right there, 20% discount. No more rolls needed. Found a dealer with war surplus to get rid of.

I recall grenades having encumbrance '1', so calculate accordingly.

Oh crap, I have 20k credits, forgot BA never bought anything before. He'll grab everything with his own funds. LMAO.

10 Frag Grenades (400cr with the discount)
10 Stun Grenades (600cr with discount)
10 Ion Grenades (520cr with discount)
10 Concussion Grenades (800cr with discount)

For a total of 2320.

Next BA wants to grab new armor, so he'll take the armored clothing, if that's alright? It keeps him at soak 6/def 1 like the other armor had that was destroyed.

He'd also like to look around the black market to see if he can find any leads on cortosis on the black market. BA wants to eventually craft either armor or a staff based on his Morgukai heritage, and he feels the armor would be easier (to modify his armored clothing with help from Anjali), especially since they're probably gonna fight another lightsaber user at some point.

Can BA take a rank in lightsaber, or does he need to get training in universe before that makes sense narratively?

(EDIT: gonna do more shopping in a future post, just looking stuff up).

Funny, looks like a lot of that tradition is building up NOW, during gametime (3654 BBY)!! The forming of (or, known use of) those staves is about this time. I think I can take things in that direction!! We DO go around helping people in need, true A-Team style. Go ahead and see what ideas you get from the notes I cut-n-pasted.

I think Armor may be the first thing to go after. Cortosis Ore, it says. I think 1) it was used a lot during the recent war, and 2) that could either mean a plentitude of it or a shortage of it.
Spoiler:
Cortosis ore was a very rare, brittle, fibrous material, the conductive properties of which would cause lightsabers to temporarily short out upon contact. This effect made cortosis a useful material for anti-lightsaber melee weapons, though with repeated strikes, a lightsaber could still cut through it. Cortosis, due to its energy resistant properties, was also resistant to blaster fire.

Off Topic
12/17/19 - +15xp. Gained 20k credits.
01/24/20 - Spent 13,750cr on ship
I think you can knock 13,750 off that total for the The Vandura G9 Rigger. I believe we all paid up in 4ths.
10 Frag Grenades (400cr with the discount)
10 Stun Grenades (600cr with discount)
10 Ion Grenades (520cr with discount)
10 Concussion Grenades (800cr with discount)
That's 40+ Encumbrance. That's okay. ;) Store most i nthe ship.
I think Monty can carry 2-3 grenades before being at his Enc Thr.

Sounds great! That other armor we picked up somewhere. Not optimal.

I think it is okay to take. I think the only 'special' thing about them is needing their own skill, not simply another Melee weapon. I see nothing under the Lightsaber skill in FaD saying one cannot take it.

Oh, yeah, BA isn't carrying all those grenades, just bought them and is leaving most in the ship.

Buying a rank of Lightsaber.

What check would it be to look for cortosis?

I am thinking, Cortosis armor MAY be had on Coruscant. People on both sides would've had it. A Riot Shield is 300cr, while a Cortosis Shield is 900cr. NOT a big markup. I think a Cortosis Armored Clothing could be had on Coruscant for 1,600cr. A.C. is base 1K and Rarity 6. +1R for Cortosis and -3R for being on Coruscant. Rarity 4 is and AVG Negotiation check.

I THINK we had rolled for a staff before and didn't find one.

Adventure-wise, I think we can go through with this slavery/spy aspect and then link to Taris, Kintan, or Nar Shaddaa and get involved in the Nikto conflict.

I was looking for maybe getting some raw cortosis if possible, and having Anjali help me coat the armor, but just buying it works too.

Spoiler:

Does Anjali or Monty want the existing armored clothing?

We did roll for a staff. At some point BA wants to craft a weapon himself, but he doesn't have the skill yet (or probably ever, lol).

Oh you don't have to do a nikto conflict for me specifically, I'm enjoying normal ATeam stuff, but in tghe background if it comes up I'd be fine.

Monty can take the armor. I wasn't "searching" for a Nikto path, but it came up in the notes and research on Morgukai Staves, and the like.

Background Wookieepedia notes of the Sith War leads partially to Dxun, Mandalorians, then tangentially to Taris and the Nikto, whom the Republic and Sith were warring over at exactly this time. There is a wealth of background in that direction. I am leaning towards that, but a lot can change. For me, i am learnign about the Galactic happenings around that time. During the peace after the Treaty of Coruscant, proxy wars were fought by both sides. One was on Taris and brought in the Mandlorians and the Nikto. Interesting Stuff! We'll see where it goes.

Oh, nice, ok.

OK, Monty can have it now.

BA also grabs some food and stuff to bring back, and a couple of bottles of nice alcohol for the group. How much is that gonna run?

@Flamiel @Doctor Who
Please mark off 5 Stimpacks from the inventory. Between stims, Monty and BA healing up over a night's rest, plus some extra healing from the Advs on the medicine checks, everyone is at zero WT/ST.

Gamewise, we spend a night's rest the other side of Coruscant in getting these captives off to a good start (and get that last tracker removed). I'll look to advance on the next objective shortly (Hofton Towers).
