Yeah, that really sucks. Activating the concussive property would have been nice. @Doctor Who you want Anjali to take a shot at the Force user or one of the bodyguards?

Go for the Force user. It's gonna be hard for BA to get to anyone over there at this point.
Give me about 5 minutes after a post, I'll probably edit it a bit before it is finalized.

So BA could still take the two maneuvers to get to one these bad guys, but he has to make an AVG Coordination check. If he passes that, but gets 2 Image, is he still falling prone? Or would you only have him fall prone if he also failed the check?

Also, guarded stance only gives +Melee defense, not Ranged, AND the force user incurs a setback die on any melee attacks he makes until the end of his next turn. Just making sure we're on the same page for that.

Sure, sure. A multi-faceted situation. To clarify....

Fail the Coordination Check = not able to advance further (i.e. he stumbles, slides, and comes up short of his target). It effectively becomes difficult terrain for him, necessitating 2 Man's to pass through. He has already spent 1 Man to get to this area.

Fail Check AND 2+ Threats = fall prone, yes. '+1 Threat' add a Setback die to your action. Advantages can yield a Boost on the attack or a setback die on his....."....you kick a bunch of debris in front of you as you come through..."

Make Check = pass through the area. Any threats will likely indicated a setback die to your attack as you come through slightly off-balance. (Or, a bonus to his attack, or strain)

That is right. Total Defense is "Melee 3 / Ranged 1" for this next round. (Guarded Stance, Lightsaber, + Armor)

Alright, maneuver to aim and action to fire at the Force wielder (diff:ImageImageImage), flip DP to upgrade the attack.

ugh, failure. And only 1 Image, not 2, because the bantha sight only grants it upon a successful check. I guess I'll pass a boost to BA. @Doctor Who

An exchange of blaster fire!
Bottom of the round (and then, top of the next round). +1 Boost to BA to act now.

Ranged-Light.

You can use one maneuver to get to short (before the debris on the ground) and throw from there. ImageImageImage to hit the main guy from short range. ImageImage for the one not behind cover. ImageImageImage for the second one who is behind cover.

Daaaanng..... One success on 7 positive dice!

Top of the next Round, PC then NPC.

Monty COULD try another grenade since only one of them moved. Or, he could try his modded heavy pistol, which thanks to Point Blank, starts at 10D.

{{BA can 1 Adv to pass boost, 1 adv to recover strain}}

4 threats rolled by the adversary with the lightsaber. Any ideas?

* 1 Thr: lose benefit of prior maneuver (loses Guarded Stance)
* 2 thr: opponent performs immediate free maneuver (disengage...allows other to target with ranged)
* 2 Thr: give setback die, or two, to next action
* 3 Thr: falls prone
* 3 Thr: decrease Difficulty against him by 1 until beginning of next turn

3 threat to negate his defense until his next turn, other threat for strain. I'd say Monty use another grenade and flip DP again. Triggering the Concussive property would be helpful.

Sadly, Monty only has an ion grenade left.

Note that Negating Defense is a product of 3 Advantages, not 3 Threats. Although, the book allows the Players/GM to spend Adv/Thr in other ways.\, so long as they are agreeable.

Defense Negated, +1 Strain to him. (It does not say, "a point of defense negated". Rather, it says, "Defense Negated". I take that to mean ALL defense. Pg. 206 or CRB says, "defensive bonuses"

Initiative Order
  • PC slot: ? Monty grenade
  • NPC slot: ? BBEG Attacks Monty
  • PC slot: ? We are here
  • NPC slot: ? two npc's
  • PC slot: ?

BA has taken the time through the debris instead of moving swiftly through it. He does not have to spend extra maneuvers to go through it or make a check. BA is one maneuver from engaging the main villain, one maneuver from any opponent.

Anjali is still Medium Range from all (two maneuvers to engage).

Och, you're right! I got my memory mixed on the uses of adv vs threats. Appreciate the flexibility there, though.

@Doctor Who , think Anjali should take one more shot at this lightsaber guy before BA engages him?

Did BBEG maneuver forward to engage with Monty? If so, didn't he also get closer to BA and Anjali (so Short)? But also that would be another upgrade to the diff to shoot, right?

The BBEG moved to the side as Monty was back and to the side covering the others from range. Look at it like an isosceles triangle (two long sides medium away, one short side). BA & Anjali started at one point, medium range to both Monty and the bad guys. Monty and the bad guys were short from each other. (High school Geometry comes in useful for once!)

BA had advanced one maneuver but stopped short in the debris (he is at short).

You are right (Thank You), they are engaged, so another upgrade. Three Upgrades, in total.

In that case, @Doctor Who , maybe BA should just go ahead and engage, too.

So what's the difficulty for BA moving and swinging his axe at the badguy?

One Maneuver to close the distance, moving diagonally to his new location near Monty.
Red-Red (ImageImage) on the attack. Melee upgraded twice for Adversary 2. No passed boosts from anyone.

@Doctor Who I'd say flip a DP and upgrade your attack
