@Flamiel The Adv's may cancel other's Threats, at this point. The odds favor us making the rolls, so maybe some advantages can be ancillary benefits.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Each PC receives +20,000 credits.

Each PC receives +15 XP.

Each PC can remove the Obligation (if you had it) Criminal 10 from your sheet.

@Flamiel Did Anjali have any other obligation? I did not see it on her sheet. (Not everyone takes the additional obligation for credits or xp to start with.) Did we previously do away with said obligation earlier?

AAA has Obligation: Family 10, correct?

@Doctor Who Did BA have any other obligation outstanding?

Obligation

#104

Post by DeepSpacer » Wed Dec 18, 2019 3:49 am

Now, I have not seen a group/PC take on Obligation to gain something. Without our credits, I was thinking it may be possible to purchase a starship. You can take on obligation (debt) to borrow enough to make up the difference for a nicer ship. Up to you all.

(Sorry, been traveling.)

Woohoo! A starship is a good idea. But we have a lot of cash (100,000?) Maybe we just buy one with that?

Always open for ideas! Coruscant probably has a billion, or more, ships on it. Rarity would be greatly reduced here.

Is that unnamed character going to try to sell us State Farm insurance? :-D (come on, you see it, right?)

Anjali went with Morality instead of Obligation. She has Righteousness/Cold-heartedness.

She will happily do work on that droid. Right up her alley.

I'm fine with the starship idea, too. She needs to make a shopping list.

Oh, yeah. That happens when you steal pictures off the internet!

Obligation would be open to take in addition to Morality if one wants to. Wasn't my game to begin with so Oblig-Mor, whatever.

Not sure if to fabricate some droid crafting rolls or just plop in a protocol droid? Maybe let some rolls determine just how fine his attributes and skills are?

Reviewed Special Modifications just this morning. Not thrilled with it and a straight protocol droid may just be better, but I like seeing the dice determine things. I may subject the result to GM fiat afterwards. I guess after rolling (with assistance), we can 'spend' triumphs, Adv's, and such on the tables I have in the books.

Here are two frameworks. I will mix between the two.

STANDARD PROTOCOL DROID
1/1/3/1/1/2; Soak 3; WT 10; 8K Rarity 4;
Coercion (1), Deceit (1), Leadership (2), Charm (2), Negotiation (2), Kn: Education (3), Kn: Xenology (3), Perception (1),
Etiquette & Protocol: + Boost to Negotiation or mediation checks to self or allies

SPECIALIST CHASSIS
1/1/2/2/2/2; Soak 3; WT 11;
(**I think moving the same points around, one can get 1/1/3/1/1/3. IMO, that works.)

Droid Crafting

#111

Post by DeepSpacer » Sat Dec 21, 2019 7:17 pm

Going strictly by the crafting rules, these are the first two steps. Costs and all parts are already provided by the 7 Adv's from before. Still, going to move things around. We'll see what the rolls come up with. :D

STEP ONE: Build a Chassis: "Specialist Chassis"
1/1/2/2/2/2; Soak 3; WT 11;

STEP TWO: Directive Options: "Translation Directives"
Gain Charm 1 and 1 rank in three different knowledge skills.
Gain Convincing Demeanor and Kill with Kindness Talents

No, BA had no other obligations outstanding AFAIK.

adding that stuff to his sheet now.

I'm back. I'll do shopping once I actually get home to DC, though, so that'll probably be the 1st. I wanna look through weapons and stuff and my books are at home there.

The A-Squad spends some significant time off. After all, it takes time for the wheels of bureaucracy to work in acquiring those official exonerations. For the time-being, they lay low. This gives time to scout out the starship market, work on building a droid, and shop for stuff.

Anjali @Flamiel has a collection of parts (7 Adv's) from the scrapheap down the Kizer Rift. Building a Droid Chassis is 3 days and a Daunting (ImageImageImageImage) Mechanics check. I would say up to TWO Boosts from people assisting and then whatever you have for tools, and such. Anjali can go ahead and make the roll. [[EDIT: use a LS DP}}

Positive dice add to future checks and up physical characteristics (like armor, defense, attributes). Negative dice result in negative effects (penalties on future rolls, quirks, setbacks).
I can't flip DPs, the URL doesn't work. But I'll use another one to use the Image and erase the Image, taking one strain and one conflict, if GM allows. Extra boost die from rank of Inventor.

Allowed, yes. The chassis is assembled in about a week, or so. 56hrs, it says, but we had chunks of parts intact already. By-the-book, "each success over the first reduces the time by 2 hours". Well, geez, thanks a lot, book! 56hrs....52hrs.... Where does that really make any difference??? The Advantages get you good stuff, though???

I'll say spend the two extra Successes like Advantages on the following.

Effect:
(1 ADV) --- below
* Practice Makes Perfect: Boost on next check.
* Reinforced Chassis: Increase the droid's wound threshold by 1
• Unobtrusive: The droid gains I rank of the Indistinguishable Talent (this option can only he selected once)
(2 Advs) --- below
* Lessons Learned: Reduce the difficulty or the character's next crafting check by I.
* Deflective Carapace: Increase droid's melee defense by I (to a maximum of 2)
* Narrow Profile: Increase droid's ranged defense by I (to a maximum of 2)

FYI, the NEXT check is a HARD (ImageImageImage) COMPUTERS check to do the programming. No setback, but only ONE boost for assistance.

Special Modifications has programming for "Translation Directives", the closest thing to Protocol, but I can twerk it a bit to include some specific Protocol Droid programming.

Don't forget to used a Destiny Point on the roll and factor in any Computer accessory equipment that may give bonuses to Computer Checks. ;)

@DeepSpacer , the links to use the Destiny Points up there are not working for me, but I've used two so far and will use one more for the Computers check.

I'll use the option of Lessons Learned on the Mechanics check, thus reducing the difficulty of the Computers check by 1. We're going for a Translation Directive here, not combat, so having surplus positive results on the Computers roll will be better, I think.

Inventor talent should still apply here, so that's a boost added to the one boost for assistance.

Anjali; Alpha Squad; Step 2 Roll 1 crafting droid Computers; Inventor (1); Assistance:
2 Successes, 2 Advantages

I'm thinking for the skills, if we're still going by the success=advantage here:

Charm 1
Negotiation 1 [[from Broad Utility bonus]]
Knowledge (Outer Rim) 1
Knowledge (Lore) 1
Knowledge (Xenology) 1
Knowledge (Warfare) 1 [[from Archival Functions bonus; say Monty and BA chiming in with suggestions over Anjali's shoulder]]

That could still leave us with one more Image to spend, which could be a positive personality quirk. That could be interesting....

"Every Success beyond the first..." as the book states for that. One Success get it functional. So that leaves three net "Adv's". Warfare and Negotiation, it is!

Cool. Those are all area needs we don't have access to. I keep a Excel sheet with all player skill ranks.

Too bad about the Boost dice not coming through.

Please roll a 1d100 (twice) for a Positive and a Negative Personality trait. I think each droid should have one of each. If you roll 91-00 then just roll again.

What I think we can come up with is the following:

Protocol Droid, Soak 3; WT 11; 1/1/3/1/1/3; Or, maybe 1/1/2/1/2/3, or 1/1/2/2/2/2
General Skills: Charm (1), Negotiation (1),
Knowledge Skills: Lore (1), Outer Rim (1), Warfare (1), Xenology (1)
Talents:
Etiquette & Protocol: + Boost to Negotiation or mediation checks to self or allies
Kill with Kindness: remove Setback Die from Charm and Leadership checks

I figure a Std Protocol Droid has seasoned, corporate experts programming it. Something we made with parts and homegrown skills should be a notch below. We didn't pay 8k (or more) and deal with Rarity, but we got basic skills none of us have. Used on assisted checks, we're getting a rank in five different skills that we do not have.
Spoiler:
STANDARD PROTOCOL DROID
1/1/3/1/1/2; Soak 3; WT 10; 8K Rarity 4;
Coercion (1), Deceit (1), Leadership (2), Charm (2), Negotiation (2), Kn: Education (3), Kn: Xenology (3), Perception (1),
Etiquette & Protocol: + Boost to Negotiation or mediation checks to self or allies

SPECIALIST CHASSIS
1/1/2/2/2/2; Soak 3; WT 11;
(**I think moving the same points around, one can get 1/1/3/1/1/3. IMO, that works.)

So BA would like to buy two vamblades, and blast knuckles (rarity 6(R)) if possible.

Did you post what the future job is yet, or not?

I may try to spend on more stuff, depending on the job. Otherwise I got some RP stuff to spend it on.

Positive Trait: Efficient (Probably not what I would've wanted for a negotiation droid, but oh well.)
"This droid abhors waste. and does everything in the most timely and precise manner it can muster." Negative Trait: Overly Literal (Uh oh. Again, probably not ideal for a negotiator....)
"Many droids (and some organic sentients) fail to grasp the nuances of language beyond its direct meaning. This is one of those droids."
