Ugh. Part of me welcomes the oncoming era of our automated-vehicle overlords for these very reasons. Good luck!DeepSpacer wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2019 1:50 amGreat roll! Give me a little time. Car transmission went out today IRL. Got tow home after 9pm. I have a second, similar car, so I have transportation. Gotta transition for a day. Miss day of work tomorrow. Figure things out. Junk the first car. Change insurance. Go to DMV, turn in plates. Etc...

Re: OOC: "Return to Coruscant"
A bit of "choose-your-own-adventure" here. I used to love those books!
Or, go it alone, or choose something else. If asked, each of the three refuses to accompany the other (for some reason). Also possible you could ask some more questions. An offer or credits may or not help and may or may not be implied.
I think I worked in the 3 Adv with some of the details.

Good reminder! I should work that in! That is, after all, the standard adventuring package for a group. Perhaps at the destination for this session.

Re: OOC: "Return to Coruscant"
So, which do we go with?
BA just wants to get there quick, he's doesn't much mind how, although regardless of who we choose he will be keeping an eye on them.

Give me about 5 minutes after a post, I'll probably edit it a bit before it is finalized.
Re: OOC: "Return to Coruscant"
Yeah, little to go on but impressions. The woman maybe looks like she's not from around here, which might be a detriment when getting there but a boon when we arrive. The thuggy Human may be the best bet for getting to the place, though the Rodian may be a good bet, too. Both of them seem obviously armed, which suggests that maybe the woman is hiding a weapon or else naive.
In other words, we might do best to take the woman, but she'll need us to protect her most likely (the potential for combat goes up). The other two may try to mug us, or they may be well enough known that the gangs will leave us alone. We'll have to pay the men, but the woman seems like she won't care for a straight up bribe and instead might ask for a drink when we arrive.
Guess I'm leaning toward the woman, then the Rodian, then the thuggy guy.

Anjali would agree with that same order of preference. She needs FR 2 darnit. Whoever we choose, she'll look for an opportunity to do Force Sense on them, but will need to be engaged. It would be awkward (and cheesy) for her to go to each person individually right now and attempt it, so she'll just wait until later.
Do we perceive any malice or deception from any of these guys?

There is no deceit in what they say. (Deceit being 'lying' used to persuade.) That said, there's probably not a lot of Good Samaritans around these parts.Flamiel wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 1:44 amAnjali would agree with that same order of preference. She needs FR 2 darnit. Two votes is close enough, most likely. Both AA & AAA gravitate towards the human man and woman. (BA and/or Monty were talking to the Rodian, we'll say.) As AA & AAA talk to them, Anjali @Flamiel may make ONE attempt to sense "the current emotional state" of one of them since it would not be awkward to do so at this time. Talking to them is "engaged".
Re: OOC: "Return to Coruscant"
Alamy doesn't have any fancy mind-reading Force powers. Would she roll Vigilance or Discipline to detect lies, maybe? (Depends of in you're running RAW or the Genesys tweak that makes Deception opposed by Vigilance).DeepSpacer wrote: ↑Wed May 08, 2019 3:02 amTwo votes is close enough, most likely. Re: OOC: "Return to Coruscant"
@SavageBob I guess this is the part where "If the GM says to make a roll....", then you KNOW you're being lied to (even if you fail the roll!).
There is not necessarily a lie anywhere in there among the three. Deceit is against Discipline, but it is when "a lie is being used to persuade you". Very narrow scope in the CRB. I think it is that way for a reason. If it were just about having ulterior motives, then wouldn't every conversation be subject to checks? (Pathfinder has that with the Sense Motive skill.) Vigilance is defined more as "Alertness".
If a lie comes up, then a roll would be needed. You (the characters) already know to be suspicious based on prior character knowledge about the lawlessness and gang activity here. You could ask more questions, take ALL of their help, take only one person's assistance, take NONE of their assistance and just ask for a few tips, go find someone else, etc... Role-playing and character judgment now come into play and lies will call for a roll.

Wow, I even rolled the TWO light pips, so I don't even need to be engaged (range upgrade to short). Anjali is targeting the woman (she's biased to same gender).

Great roll! You sense the "current emotional state" of Kassandra (in IC).
Re: OOC: "Return to Coruscant"
Yeah, I prefer Genesys's tweak with Deception opposed by Vigilance. I let my players use Vigilance to "detect lies" to an extent, even if a failed roll means "You don't know if he's lying or not." And a success might also indicate, "He seems to be sincere." Helps me curtail an otherwise paranoid group of players! (Not second-guessing you; just table talk.)

Yeah, I'll go ahead and suggest her. As far as player knowledge goes vs. PC knowledge, I suspect she's affiliated with the Sith....

Each PC can make an AVG + Setback die Perception, Vigilance, or Skulduggery check to notice the going-ons around them at this moment. (I think Alamy removes the SB on Perc)
Each PC can then make a Vigilance Check (Initiative). Apply penalties or bonuses as follows based on your first roll:
- One Success? Congrats! No penalties!
- Multiple Successes? Upgrade Initiative check once
- Adv's? +1 Boost to self or others
-Triumph? Upgrade check (or, other option)
- Failure? Add a Red Challenge die to your Initiative roll.
- Threat? Add a Setback die for each one.
Keep in mind we have 5 LS / 1 DS in the pool.

AAA; Alpha Squad; Perception check + Farsight:
1 Success, 2 Advantages, 2 Light Side
(ignoring thanks to Keen-Eyed)
We'll split the LS pips: +, + on the roll. I think that means AAA can upgrade her Vigilance check once, and take a , plus pass a to Anjali.
AAA; Alpha Squad; Vigilance + Farsight:
1 Success, 1 Advantage, 1 Dark Side
Not that it did much good! (Ignoring the DS pip.)

Re: OOC: "Return to Coruscant"
Players can decide what to use the Despair for. Kassandra has us believing she is as caught off guard as we are. Still, a Despair could cause her to drop her weapon, lose ammo, or damaged. It could also maybe Upgrade the minion group's check behind her (a possible combat Despair from them hitting her instead). Open to ideas.
To be clear, 4 directions of assailants. Short range, about 30m.

Re: OOC: "Return to Coruscant"
I'm down with her dropping her weapon, that's funny. Also, BA intends to knock some fools down.
If anyone else wants to go before him, let me know.
Also, as an asside, BA needs to get some better bladed weapons, get the crit range down to 1 or 2 for better usage of his critical hit enhancing talents.
Are there any arranged together where BA could hit two people while only needing to take a single maneuver?

One Maneuver to go from Engaged to Short. Still, costs a Maneuver to draw weapon.Doctor Who wrote: ↑Wed Jun 05, 2019 10:13 pmAre there any arranged together where BA could hit two people while only needing to take a single maneuver?
Yes, minions in groups of about 3-4 so you are engaging multiple people.
For the sake of tracking the action, let's just say North, South East, West groups.
