Resolving Business
VIG Check (2 Succ, 3 Adv, 1 Triumph, 1 Despair)
The Succ/Adv/Tri combine to show some further notes on the datapad that have the four comlink frequencies. ("Notice key environmental factor") The Captain noted two dates on that same datapad.
* Pick up drop at spaceport.
* Make drops at IBOL
(Both dated two days away from now...day after tomorrow...)
Captain Greckel returns to his residence in the middle of the night. He finds everything in order, except for the laundry. The laundry was left undone by the housekeeping droid. “How odd. I must get that droid reprogrammed!” (Despair)
Stealth (3 Succ, 4 Adv, 1 Triumph)
The group escapes with ease and even finds a more discrete way to enter again and find a way to manipulate the lighting to gain 3 Boosts when approaching again.
("distract for the scene, decrease time taken")

XP lines
In the future, it would help me to have a line like this on your sheets:
Total XP 200 = Characteristics (100xp) + Skills (30xp) + Talents (40xp) + Spec (20xp) + Force Powers (10xp) + Unspent (0xp)
EIther that, or indicate such individually in each section on your sheet:
Skills (20xp): Athletics(1), Coercion (2), etc...
Talents (15xp): Grit(5), Toughened (10), etc...
Force Powers (30xp): Move(10), etc...
There seems to be discrepancies out there, but I'd just chalk it up to GM-awarded XP at creation. According to my research, Nikto start at 100, Devaronians at 95, Ark-Offshoot at 100(?).

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
This is what swsheets.com is good for. I think ark offshoot start at 110, but I have to check.
I'm actually a big fan of Force powers, so constructed my character intending to invest in and use those heavily. I like the Morality mechanic, and have no problem mixing that with Obligation.

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
I'd also like to gain access to a mentor. I had one in my backstory, who may or may not be under surveillance by the people I'm running from.

I'm really busy this weeked and don't have time to redo my character yet. I'll try to get it done tomorrow, but I'll see how it goes.
Give me about 5 minutes after a post, I'll probably edit it a bit before it is finalized.

No Problem. I always appreciate your efforts. I took on a heavier workload this weekend, myself.Doctor Who wrote: ↑Sat Sep 22, 2018 3:06 amI'm really busy this weekend and don't have time to redo my character yet. I'll try to get it done tomorrow, but I'll see how it goes.
Not sure if I'll get in any time this weekend. I intend to write a narrative conversation tying in the backgrounds a bit closer through character discussion, so no pressing need from the PC's. Tighten up char sheets, spend the XP, and I'll try to get the IC going well by Monday.

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
BTW, I found THIS some ways back. However, I think it conflicts slightly with recent narrative.
Luke leads the group back to his station and quickly looks up the ships landing permit. The ship itself is registered to the Republic, but through a little finagling he is able to identify the individual who paid the docking feel. He looks up and tells you that the generals last name matches that of the republic general that set you up.
Chalk it up to a long campaign and GM-switching from a year ago. So, we'll EDIT that little part about the General's Identity so that Luke tells us that Captain Greckel paid the docking fee. The identity of both the General and his Wife remain a mystery."Don't you get it? The biggest heist this world has ever seen. And the kicker? It run is by one of their own! And that 5000 credits are gonna get you a name. It's General...." Just as he says the word "General" a blaster bolt whizzes past the soldiers' heads and strikes Jiton right between the eyes. He falls to the ground, dead instantly.

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
Taking some liberties with the IC dialogue, character backgrounds, and the like. Perhaps it will nudge others to further develop their PC's and Obligation. Let me know if something runs afoul. This will also let us get some dialogue in and deepen the PC's. (Also, buy me a little time to plan out the next encounter!)
Possible paths include....
* check back in on the Niktos before the big shakedown.
* testing / identifying the four comlink frequencies
* pursue this delivery happening in a day's time (Luke contact)
* Get to the secretary, Abigail.
* use the uniforms and cloned badges (need to be created) to snoop around more.
* as a side, AAA getting in some gambling (Pazaak) to up our credit pool a bit.

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
I'm getting 185 for AAA somehow.
Attributes (90) + Skills (15) = 105 XP character creation
Force powers (20) = 20 XP GM grant
Skills: 1 free from GM grant = 20
Attributes (90) + Force powers (40) + Talents (30) + Skills (25) = 185 XP (not including the GM granted skill)

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
That's fine! Just mark it on the char sheet, adjust it as you go. I am not worried about discrepancies of 5 here, or 10 there. Free ranks won't count in (much like species ranks).SavageBob wrote: ↑Sat Sep 22, 2018 4:31 pmI'm getting 185 for AAA somehow.

Any ideas where to go now? Spy out the captains "drop"? Check back with the Niktos? Etc...DeepSpacer wrote: ↑Sat Sep 22, 2018 2:56 pmPossible paths include....

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
I was hoping Anjali might comment on our situation. But I can have Alamy suggest a course of action IC in a bit.

Oof, feel BA has found someone that likes Jedi less than he does, lol.

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
Heh heh. It's not like she really hates them or anything; she just thinks they're useless and shouldn't be counted on for anything. Her mentor was good about teaching the Force to her, not so much a love for the Jedi. Or at least, if she did, Anjali formed her own opinion there.
Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
No need to RP gambling, but what's the skill roll involved?

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
What's your game, partner? {EDIT}
Pazaak, I see!
Win by skill? Deception? Bluffing? Cheating?
[/quote]
I think AAA would be good at cheating, but she's probably a bluffer.

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
So, AAA only has 43 credits to play with, and she has no Cool to speak of. Even with all that, she just got trounced on three Deception checks. Well, the third succeeded. Does the Rodian roll now and we see who did better over all for each hand?
I also realized that she could probably use Farsight to just see his cards -- she has several Control upgrades for it. But with her anti-corruption bent, I don't see her as cheating at cards unless we established that this Rodian was somehow deserving of it. So she bluffs.

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
Yes, I will have to roll for him when I get home. As I recall, pizzaque (Pazaak) can end in ties, I believe. Is that right? If Neelo rolls spectacularly bad, as well, there could be an additional roll.
Cheat? Strong is the temptation to the dark side.
I'll make some rolls tonight after work and narrate the results.

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
Neelo only lost by the luck of the (Force) die. I recalled using it as a way to insert randomness into a game. Alamy did not play well and only won by a poor luck of the draw.SavageBob wrote: ↑Sat Sep 29, 2018 9:33 pmI also realized that she could probably use Farsight to just see his cards -- she has several Control upgrades for it. With Farsight, I think it reads that you see through something "as if it were not there", so I'd think (if you did it) you would not see the other side of the cards. One of the end powers allows you to see from another vantage point. Another few powers lets you see fine details, and such.
Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
Yeah, the roller really had it out for me! I see what you mean about Farsight. I don't have the Control or Mastery upgrades yet to cheat at cards, but I do like the idea of Misdirect to make him forget.

Re: OOC: "The Captain's Business"
I wanted to give everyone a heads up that I'll be traveling this weekend as my newborn daughter has surgery. (No big deal, right?) I should still have some ability to post, but if things are stalling out on my account, just assume AAA does something helpful and move on. Hopefully all goes well, and I'll be back home with a healthy baby in a few days.

Abigail....
Would you all rather make an influence roll (of some sort) with her and then move on to confronting the captain, rather than play out something that seems to have a somewhat predetermined outcome? It seems more efficient on PBP to save the time on the small stuff.
