A Force Power-Up

We have gained "insight" into using the Force. Each of us will gain some powers using the Force. I know that Monty has 'nil spent on any powers, BA just has that Enhance: Brawn, and Anjali is full-bore force powers. Trip, the original GM, had this "thing" that each player have some force connection, so we did. Feel free to bring up other ideas if you think differently than what I came up with. I think it "fits" where they are at.

> Each Player gets +25xp for Force Powers ONLY and it will be allotted in the following ways:

MONTY: will gain Force: Influence to compliment his natural Leadership skills. Half cost for the base power +5, then +5 Magnitude, and then +15 Control for Coercion, Charm, Deception, Leadership, and Negotiation checks.

BA: will get +5 Control: Coordination, +10 Control: Horizontal Leap, and +10 Control: Vertical Leap.

ANJALI: +10 on Sense, Control: commit and upgrade incoming attack. +15xp distributed as you see fit. (She has so many powers! I am sure that you will find use for it.)

Oh cool, thanks. Instead of the Sense: Control, however, I'd probably lean toward putting that 10 into Move: Horizontal Leap. The rest probably to strength/range/magnitude upgrades for Move, Influence, and Sense.

Sounds fine. I just thought a defense upgrade would've fit the Sense power used in the jungle.

It could, yeah, but that's also why I'm thinking extending the range/fidelity of the power that was used.

Oh, and next time you want to do an individualized track like that, let me know and I can put something together for Monty. ;)

No problem. I may do that some time!! I was actually going to write it out some more for Monty, but decided to narrate it out to move onward. I'm not particularly attached to him as a character, but I've been reading more about character arcs and am trying to fit them into characters more. His 'conflict' is perhaps his failed leadership roles. Hence, it motivates him to go forward.

I can also say that the extent to which 1-on-1 play with swrider has occurred, it has been great both running and playing in such a game. Single-minded, (sometimes) faster pace, it cuts out a lot of that going-around-the-group stuff that is a necessity for multi-player games, and the game plot is MUCH more simplified. It is much more "I go, you go." If you have the time, @Flamiel then you could probably find a willing player.

I decided to apply an 'advancement' to Caspo, our protocol droid, based on the adventure. I think that each time the group gets xp, he'll get some sort of improvement to keep pace. This time, Caspo got a 2nd rank of Outer Rim.

Possible options include....
* Sneaking past the lair.
* Ambushing the beasts in their lair.
* Lure them out of their lair into an ambush.
* Cutting a new path to bypass the lair (slowly and stealthily)
* Take the trail to the right (away from the base) and try to circle back around.
* Other???

I'd lean toward sneaking past, to be more direct to the base and (hopefully) save time. Anjali would want to commit dice to Agility to prepare herself for the attempt as well as potential combat.

And excess successes on Stealth rolls can be passed along to others to help them succeed. Will see what BA (Doc) says. Monty would caution to have a plan 'B'. i.e. be ready to lay down some grenades behind us if we have to run from them.

Sure. I am on the road now, but I am sure that these creatures have both a willpower and presence of one. I think those would be the appropriate defensive stats.

I realize that using a DS pip won't change this dice result, but she certainly gets this feeling that a DS force-user would have a much easier time of things on Dxun (and, perhaps, elsewhere!).

It's been a busy week for everyone, I see. I popped something in the right hand on Wednesday, so writing, typing, cell phone, and computer use has been at a minimum this week. Doing everything left-handed has been a struggle. It is still a little swollen, but no throbbing pain. All I did Wednesday was pull a door handle on the car, one that tends to stick from time to time. I'll be a little slow for another week (probably) but I hope to keep up.
