Rider, can you give us an idea of how many opponents there are and where they are in the initiative order?

The NPCs all act on the same initiative slot which is shown in the who's turn is it page. We are in kinda pseudo structured time as the combat hasn't really started. From what I remember of Trips description there were 4 in the hanger originally and one went up to the control booth. Sixkiller came out so that is a total of 5.

Holy moly. Are any of us PCs combat-oriented? I know the ladies aren't. Might be best to retreat, unless one of y'all can really call in backup.

Looks like the bluff brought out the bad guy. Now we KNOW he is here. Yes, we are ill-equipped to shoot it up. The group started with a Whiphid, ended up adding lesser combatants.

Worse that can happen is the Gm rescues us when/IF we all go down. They're likely minions, so gettign first shot would be nice.

They are running on their trun which puts it back into the players hands.

We could change our name from Alpha Squad to Geek Squad. 😂

The control room is a slight deviation (to the side and up some stairs) but it wont make a major difference.

Well, they exited the room, so is the factory up another level, then? Or, did they come down the stairs then flee?

The control room as I'm imagining it is elevated and oversees the large room you first entered. The guy went up the stairs and into the room then he and six killer came out all began to run. They are still in the same large bay as you. Though gaining distance if you stop to check out the control room.

Technically at this point we should be going into the chase mechanics and we can do that. The other option is that we just narrate the chase. Preferences?

No preference.

I've never run a chase, so that could be fun. Is it opposed Athletics checks or something when you're on foot?

Yes I believe it is opposed athletics checks. It also has the benefit of having an undecided outcome vs the GM just deciding how it ends. The ball is in the players hands so if you want to use the chase rules please make a simple athletics check. I will roll one set of negative dice for each set of bad guys being chases. They have broken up into three groups with sixkiller heading further into the base and the others heading for what appear to be sides of the factory (windows, doors etc...).

A Simple "Group" Athletics check? What would that be? I think we all have 2 Brawn with '0' ranks in Athletics. Or, do we all roll individually?

There's also the question of whether we should split up to pursue Sixxkiller's buddies, or just let them go and take down the big kahuna.

I was thinking individually to see how well each individual does in the chase. If you want to do a group check then I suppose you can. You will probably have more success rolling individually as there are more chances to succeed. Though at the very least you could add a boost for each individual in the chase if you do a group check. The group size will depend on whether you all pursue the same target or not.

I think the idea of a group check would make sense if we all go after the same target; narratively, we might be "herding" him toward some dead alleyway where he'll have to stop, say. But what do people think about splitting up versus all going after Sixxkiller?

chase?

Well, if we were sitting at a table, we could continually makes Athletic check rolls each round until the chase is resolved. Over PBP, it could take weeks or months for everyone to chime in over the course of a chase!

To adjust for PBP, I'd say: have each PC make 3 Athletic checks for 3R's of chase. See how it pans out. Narrate it. Let's PC's retcon if they fail some rolls and fall out of sight (i.e. they give up or turn around). Or, maybe they gain so well that they can take a shot? Retcon let them shoot. Pick up the action after 3R's of chasing.

Im fine with three checks each. I was only going to do one but the three checks fits the raw better.

Yeah, a happy compromise between RAW and PBP. "One" chase roll may resolve nothing.

Can Hell get back to the speeder and will the speeder fit in here? The factory? Or, drive below the scaffolding?

AAA is running after Sixxkiller:

AAA; Alpha Squad; Athletics Check #1:
0 Success, 3 Advantages

AAA; Alpha Squad; Athletics Check #2:
0 Success, 2 Advantages

AAA; Alpha Squad; Athletics Check #3:

...And presumably losing him.

Anjali's rolls, almost as bad, but 3rd roll will use Enhance to add an automatic success with that Light pip.

Anjali; Alpha Squad; Athletics Chase Sequence:
0 Success, 3 Advantages, 1 Dark Side

six rolls in a row with no success? that is strange.
Spoiler:
test; test; test:
6 Successes, 17 Advantages

I got some successes. I'll recheck the code to make sure that the chart is correct on when a success comes up.
