Could you describe the cage more trip.

Is it metal bars. Does it have a top and a bottom? does the door have a built in lock or a pad lock. Is it secured with chain or is is a force field.
A force cage was a device that was designed for and used to contain prisoners, the first examples of which were seen some time prior to 3956 BBY during the Jedi Civil War. Existing through to the era of the New Republic, these types of detention cells were, in essence, energy shields that took the form of a tube. The device itself consisted of a base and cap that was connected by a column at the back that also anchored it to a wall. This assemblage served as a conduit for the energy barrier, keeping it running and anchoring it in place.

It was done in a hurry so nothing is anchored and the conduit powering the device is not shielded.

Here is how I want to handle this so that it is not impossible.
Monty and the boss get 1 attempt to escape from their chairs. If they succeed then they can wake up the others. That takes 30 min.
If they fail, each player can roll a hard resilience check. The players that succeed wake up on their own with 1/X strain then can roll cool to recover additional strain. Then all the players that are awake can make another roll to try to escape the chairs\cage. Another 30 min.
Repeat the process until everyone is awake but remove 1 difficulty for the resilience check after the hard one until it is a simple check.

What is the difficulty to escape the chairs and what type of check? I am anticipating them asking.

It depends on what they want to do. I could list things but that defeats the challenge of coming up with their own ideas to get out.

Perhaps that is true, but you have no less than a 2 in any stat and therefore have a chance at succeeding at anything.

Might I suggest that you try a leadership check to inspire/guide the other awake player in their attempt. This could be represented by a boost die but I think a leadership check would be cool representing how well you help to keep them cool/inspired/ and provide useful guidance because you can see what is happening on their chair whereas they probably can not.

Trip, what does this mean?

"Anything that the team had on them that was not out is with them."

Out? Do you mean in hand?

Yes, sorry. Like if you had your weapons drawn they would be in the box. But if you had a hold out blaster tucked away, it would be safe.

They did not search you, just picked up what you dropped when you got hit.

Can we choose to use Discipline instead of Cool for the strain recovery?

If so, Monty can use Command Talent to give each person a Boost die to any Discipline checks made.

Not familiar with that use of discipline. Is there a rule or precedent for that use?

Yes, Matt! Please do something to wake the rest of us up! The fact that you're a face should make you better at something like that.

@deep Going forward, I prefer to narrate the threat generated from the rolls. The players get to pick what to use the advantages for. I am ok with leaving your post as is.

just suggestions. I always defer to the GM, of course. If I don't write something that's sometimes a GM asked me what I want to do and then that creates two or three extra posts. So I always tried to quote the rules or give a suggestion.
