Whereas 8 Successes might mean that you everything factual there is to know, 8 Advantages, IMO, means that you know some extra extraneous details about the situation. Maybe you know some hideouts, secret contacts, a 'back door' into somewhere, etc...

1 Succ (plus a few of those Advs) means that you know the Sith have tried (and failed) to conquer the Nikto for some time. Success only came when they enlisted the Mandalorians to assist them, then they succeeded. Recently, the Sith and Mandalorians broke off their alliance since the Mandalorian leader died and was replaced.

Spending the Advantages can be knowledge we have that can be useful.

I'm thinking Nikto tribes would be good. Republic probably has limited influence here, unless they have some undercover agent we can contact for information and directions.

Let's not forget to get some environmental protection, although I'm not sure what that might constitute. Shelter? Rations? Thermal Cloak? Canteen? Syntherope?

I think the thermal cloak has the most direct protection to it.

Just to touch base, the A-Squad is brainstorming IC about their approach to things.

None of us are the Master Diplomat, but we can do okay at it. Any idea is workable within the game.

Yes, scanners scan for whatever you tell them to scan for. Otherwise, they simply do passive warnings of ships or asteroids. AVG + Setback for scanning using Computers skill.

BA definitely wants to cautiously approach, try to figure out what's hiding. Kintan isn't exactly known for its friendly locals

Looks like we're not a great Survivalist group, but we can get a boost for BA's familiarity and a boost for our scanner work from the ship giving us info on the terrain. BA has Survival as a skill, but without any ranks in it.
