Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
In the time since the sacking of Coruscant, and the corresponding theft of ten million credits from the First Bank, the Galactic Republic has made peace with the Sith Empire. The Jedi Temple has been reduced to rubble and six members of the Jedi High Council have been killed. The two-day long occupation by the Sith resulted in the destruction of much of the Galactic City (Coruscant).
The controversial Treaty of Coruscant signed on Alderaan brought an end to the Great Galactic War and returned the capital to its original occupants. The Cerean Paran Am-Ris now rules as the Supreme Chancellor over a weakened state.
The treaty's highly-biased mandates set the stage for the Cold War and forced the Republic into a debilitating position of weakness within the galaxy. All Republic Forces were made to withdraw from the father reaches of the galaxy and Imperial Protocol Droids were left behind to ensure that other provisions of the treaty were adhered to. The Jedi relocated themselves to the planet of Tython.
The reconstruction of Coruscant has been slow and arduous. Bureaucracy, inefficiency, and lack of funding has left residents in the poorer areas of the ecumenopolis to survive in the ruins left behind by the Sith’s bombardment and occupation. Some of the planet's lower levels have fallen under gang control and have been largely ignored by the Republic government. Undersection 571 is one of those areas.

Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
BA, Alamy, & Monty have all heard the rumors (1 Adv each) about how it is not safe to venture far from natural daylight on Coruscant. The undersectors have turned into a somewhat lawless territory. The rebuilding has been slow and tensions are high. Some have taken the law into their own hands. Anjali is familiar with such situations to know (2 Succ, 2 Thr) that one way to navigate more safely through lawless undersectors is to have a local guide or gang member escort you where you want to go. She might have someone in mind. An old acquaintance...

Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
The group makes their way through the Coruscant Port Authority with relative ease. Since the peace treaty, tensions have died down a bit on who is coming and going on Coruscant. (A few credits don't hurt either!). Much of the immediate surface is being rebuilt while layers near the surface are respectably safe.
The constant hum of hover vehicles fills the air and activity is everywhere. Taxis and trains run in and out, up and down. Anjali's contact is at the same port authority, as expected. With all of the destruction from the Sith War, Anjali wasn't sure if the place was still standing and if her contact will had the same job (or, was alive at all). This person should be able to give precise directions to this Cantina/Sector 571. The group finds a relatively secure residence to store their wares.

Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
Anjali and the group arrive at a particular port authority near the surface. She asks to speak with a Shea Rea (SHAY-uh RAY). Shea and Anjali have shared a similar history, not fitting in and being sort of an outcast. While Shea is a Twi'lek, she was notoriously pale-skinned, almost albino, which was seen as "unattractive" in most circles. That, along with her sometimes intemperate disposition made her somewhat of a loner and strike out on her own. She is an older, female who has piercings of jewelry in her lekkus. Over time she and Anjali came to know and respect each other. Anjali appreciating the info Shea could give her and Shea enjoying the company of young loner type (despite her beauty) who reminded her of herself. They at least had that in common.
"Well, well, well...... Hello, Doll!!! It's been about two solar years since I last saw YOU. I thought maybe you had moved off-planet! Where've you been?"
("Doll" has been Shea's pet name for Anjali, given that she looks the part with her fine features, white hair and piercing blue eyes. Up to Flamiel to decide if Anjali has always 'tolerated' it or has embraced it.)

Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
Anjali gives a rare genuine smile at the sight of Shea. This twi'lek woman offered shelter and support to her when things could have so easily gone worse for Anjali, when she was out on her own and cast adrift.DeepSpacer wrote: ↑Fri Apr 19, 2019 1:19 am

"Shea, it is good to see you after all this time. I'm glad to see you're looking well. Yeah, I got mixed up in some stuff and had to take an unexpected tour around the galaxy. These beings here are friends of mine." Anjali gestures to the rest of the group. "I trust them." Given what Anjali has been through, Shea would know that means a lot. Anjali introduces them to Shea and gets the pleasantries out of the way.

Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
She gives a knowing nod of approval to all. In her old, gravelly voice she replies, "What are you in need of dear?"
Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
AAA pauses and looks at the others before speaking. "We've got some business at a bar called Cantina 571. Apparently the bloke who set us up is a regular. Likes to rub elbows with the 'riffraff,' I guess." Her sarcasm is evident. "You heard of it?"

Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
"Set you up? How horrible." Shea says in a rather dead-panned manner, as if that kind of thing happens with regularity. She also does not seem necessarily concerned or compassionate about that. "Can't say that I have heard of the place. ....a trillion beings on Coruscant.... Can you imagine the number of Cantinas?"
"571, eh? That's surely an undersector, if I remember correctly. You'll need some 'toughs' if you venture there. You got some 'toughs'? You’re gonna mark yourself unless you have some. No one gets around the undersectors without some protection these days. Even a cunning girl like you (Anjali)."

BA moves forward to show his "toughness" off.
Give me about 5 minutes after a post, I'll probably edit it a bit before it is finalized.

The undersized human (when compared to the Nikto) Monty, with a cigarra clenched in his teeth, also steps up and opens his coat to reveal a blaster rifle. "We've got some toughness, if you know what I mean."
Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
"Relax, guys," Anjali says. "She has a point. We're not trying to attract attention or trouble. What do you propose?"

Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
"Trouble may find YOU, Deary!" she warns, as her eyes open widely.
"These are your toughs? Not bad..." she says, rolling her eyes away and not making contact with the two male characters. Not overly impressed, it seems.
"The best you can do is get a public transport and then an air taxi or taxi speeder to get you close. Some types won't go too far into the undersectors for fear of their safety, but they can get you close enough. The rest you'll have to navigate on foot."
Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
"Any idea who runs 571? Our mark has to have contacts down there if he's able to move about with impunity. Who might he be working with?"

"No idea..... Streetgangs or career criminal, maybe. Like I said, Coruscant's a big place. 571? A pretty lawless place, no doubt. If your 'mark' has enough sway (or enough credits), the riffraff may give him a wide berth."
Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
AAA rolls her eyes back. "Get a taxi and be careful. Thanks. You've been a huge help." She turns to the others. "We done here?"

BA shrugs. "Guess we are. I don't know the area all that well, so I can't really help with any navigation or what not."

"No, no, we're fine now. Thanks for pointing us in the right direction. A pleasure to meet you!" replies Monty with a nod of his head.
“One last thing, do you know what a “Fo-sa” is, Doll? A fo-sa is a cop who doesn’t fly straight. Don’t trust any Coruscant Security Force types to help you out. They might just as likely turn their back on you as help you.”
“Good luck, Doll.”

Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
The sun above Coruscant penetrates down a few levels of the surface, which is as far as the hover train descends. Periods of darkness envelop the train as the natural light fades away. An endless array of pipes and conveyors shuffle up and down between layers of the surface and underworld.
Life is still robust and active here. Neon signs now provide most all of the lighting and an occasional Security Officer can be sighted. From this point, it will take a ride by hover taxi.

“5-7-1, eh? “ the cabbie responds. “80 credits, for the lot of you.”
The hover cab pulls up to a section of open, massive blast doors that appear to have been inoperable for many centuries. They may not even be functional. An emblazoned, bronze emblem beneath the dirt and grime on the ground is indicates that this is the beginning of “U-571”. Some pedestrians walk by, a Zabrak and younger Twi'lek. They ignore any overtures you make at them and keep walking past you. Without any "forced conversation, they enter and leave in the taxi you just exited from. Two humanoids to the left warm themselves from a small fire. An Ithorian watches from a balcony above. Three humanoids to the right are having a conversation and exchanging trinkets.
“This is IT. This is a far as I go. You can WALK from here.”

"Let's see if we can't find out where this cantina is, shall we?" AAA and the others canvas the area and ask around.

Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
Alamy, Anjali, Monty, and BA set out like seasoned residents of Coruscant. They're no fools and seem to blend in well with the crowd. Several people offer their assistance.
The two people warming themselves at a small fire (To the left of the picture) are a male and human female. They go by the names Kassandra and No-be. "Sure, I'll help you find your way. It's a bit of a haul, through some dangerous territory, but I can get you there. I'm going that way." says the beautiful female. She has traces of red in her hair, eyes, and clothing and obviously does not spend a lot of time roughing it in the streets. She has a curious tattoo on her left arm. Nothing you have ever seen before.
The human male also has a tattoo on his upper-left arm, the same side on which he sports a pistol in his thigh holster. He gives Kassandra a serious glare as if he's trying to usurp her offer and replies in short sentences, "Cantina 5-7-1? Yeah, I know the place. Far side of the sector. Past some Renegade territory. You got credits?" You suspect that he also is far from destitute. He has a soft helmet and wears something like flight gear. His tattoo is of a ship or speeder mirror-imaged, one facing up, one facing down.
The third cooperative person is a one-eyed, male Rodian in red leathers. He was conversing with two other humans who left when you approached. Across his back is a vibrosword. "5-7-1 is where a lot of stuff goes down. More of an upper-scale place for these parts. Some C-S-F types like to hang out there. I can get you there. The name's Zisto." (CSF: Coruscant Security Force)

Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
Anjali considers their offers. She is generally more suspicious of males of species, especially near-human ones, considering them to be more likely to try and take advantage of her. She focuses on Kassandra and reaches out with the Force, attempting to touch her mind and glean any trace of malice toward her and her team.

Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
The woman who calls herself Kassandra seems both "eager" and "resentful". You suspect the resentfulness is towards the man beside her (the 'pistoleer'). Perhaps there is a competitiveness between them for some reason.
Re: IC: "Return to Coruscant"
Anjali turns to Monty and nods toward the woman, Kassandra. "It'd be nice to have a majority over the guys for a bit." Then turning back to the human male and rodian, "No offense, boys," she says with a wink.
