"Caspo?!?! Where ARE we with regards to the T.O.C boundary? Is this Sith Territory???" [Warfare Check: 0 Succ, 2 Adv]
Caspo replies, "I have 'incomplete files' on that topic.
My most accurate assessment is that we are near the Sith-Republic border (1 Adv), perhaps in disputed territory.

Caspo's long-winded, informative reply yields no answer to Monty's question, but gives some extraneous information. BA recalls that the famed warrior-race called the Mandalorians once waged a war against the Republic nearly 300 years ago. That war probably included this sector (1 Adv). Monty shows a hint of concern on his face while Anjali is more concerned with her scanner readings. The attention of the crew goes elsewhere.

The closeness of Dxun to the surface of Onderon is obvious to all, as is the intense, temporary "merging" of the two planet's atmospheres. Alamy's shuttle dips into the atmosphere of Dxun beneath some clouds and The Vandura's scanners lose track of the ship. It is several minutes travel until reaching the convergence of the two planets. Alamy's shuttle only dipped below the normal, planetary cloud cover of Dxun. It was either descending or heading in that general direction.

[Scanner: 1 F, 3 Advs]

Visible below are what appears to be a fleet of transport freighters moving towards the convergence (1st Adv). Transports/Freighters with extended bird-shaped wings (2nd Adv). Only that.... the wings are in-motion..... moving..... flapping..... This is no fleet of freighters!!! This is a flock of giant beasts!!!! They are flying TOWARDS the convergence, as if on a mission!

Below the clouds of the surface, there are flashes of light (3rd Adv). It could reasonably be lightning (with the clouds, and all), or.....something else!!

"Can we follow that shuttle and get it back in sight?!" Anjali exclaims. I'm not sure what's going on up there, but we should probably man battle stations just to be safe. If there are hostiles, we'll probably have to make a run for it or land quickly."

"Try to re-establish visual contact? Affirmative!! Will try to enter at the same entry point." says Monty, who is piloting the ship. "Taking evasive maneuvers as we go. BA, take the wing cannon. Anjali, stay on the scanners, but be ready to man the ventral blaster cannon and shields, if needed."

A few of the enormous flying creatures have taken notice of our presence. They break off from the pack to prey upon the stranger in their midst.

The Vandura is a Silhouette 4 ship. These creatures have a wingspan of 20 meter, or more. They're wider than your average (X-Wing) starfighter.

These winged lizards possessed heavily muscled bodies covered by purple scales. Their long necks held small heads with short, wide snouts and sharp fangs. An adult drexl's largest teeth were the length of a Human arm, and the creatures had a stature similar to that of a krayt dragon when fully grown. A fully grown male specimen had a wingspan of twenty meters across.

The beasts are terrifying!!! Anjali has never seen a (flying) living creature this big coming at her ship. She will have a Setback die on all actions this encounter and takes +1 strain (1F, 1 Thr). BA and Monty are awed, but maintain their composure. Such is the advantage of seeing live combat on various battlefronts across the galaxy during the Sith War. However, for BA, it has a PTSD-effect and he takes +2 strain (2 Threats). (Feel free to narrate what that traumatic event may have been like!!)

BA grimaces. He never was a fan of flying, and these things bring back memories of various drop situations in his past. He doesn't like the idea of fighting these things in their home turf.

Monty increases speed and takes The Vandura down through the partly-cloudy skies (1 Setback to check). The ship is relatively slow as far as starships go, but lines up much better against flying creatures. Although more agile and maneuverable, the Drexl's are hindered by the cloud cover and lose track of the shuttle. Monty puts a great distance (from close to medium) between the ship and the armada of creatures (now) above them (3 Successes vs 1 Failure). Looking up, the creatures look like wave after wave of strategic bombers departing to their target. The pursuing Drexls lose interest and return to (what seems to be) their flight formation high above. The atmospheric ring of Onderon is slowly coming ever-closer to Dxun's own atmosphere. The atmospheres will be close enough that, soon, creatures may fly between the two planets.

Down below, the outline of a small shuttle is flying above the treetops (1 Adv).

Somewhere beneath the jungle canopy....

"Sir, we have an unidentified craft approaching along the same vector as Mirage One. It is NOT transmitting the clearance code."

"It is NOT another Drexl, or other native creature in flight?"

"Negative. It has an electronic signature."

"You know the procedures, Ensign. We must adhere to the STRICTEST of protocols for the sake of The Empire. Allow the targeting computer to do what it was made to do. I will notify the commander of the situation."

"Yes, sir!"

With that, two tiny specks emerge from the jungle up ahead. Two specks with fiery tails to them!! (If one were closer, it would look like this!)

As Monty speaks, the second missile speeds forward towards the shuttle on its initiative. The explosion knocked the spoofed missile off-course even more than it was (now upgraded twice). Though deterred, the missile strikes the target, but with some negative consequences for the enemy.

'WE'RE HIT!!! WE'RE HIT!!!' the command center hears as they eavesdrop on The Vandura's communications (1 Adv). The Hunter Concussion Missile strikes an oil line on the freighter, causing an inky, black cloud to fill the sky as The Vandura (temporarily) spirals downward.

The missile command console freezes and blinks for a second. Ensign Rauth looks confused for a moment, gives a slight 'bang' on the console with his fist, and the 2d monitor display blinks back into normal. It shows no sign of The Vandura (Despair).

"Destroyed, sir!!"

"Must have been colonists, pirates, or the like. Look for other possible interlopers and then allow the computer to resume the previous passive scanning routines."

"Affirmative."

Spoiler:
WE don't know this is happening, but will take an opportunity to duck-n-dive (or land) in the foliage below. It'd be common tactics to fly low to avoid any ground-to-air missiles.

"Gotta fly low to avoid those missiles!!! It's gonna be close!! Shout out if you see launches of any more missiles or aircraft."

The treetops and terrain of the Onderonian moon is difficult. The trees are clustered close together, clouds are swirling, and this interstellar phenomenon is causing all kinds of havoc!!

"Well, that's better than what I thought it'd be!!" says Monty looking at Anjali. BA is gripping his seat tightly as the ship comes to a halt. The old G9 Rigger comes to a halt in the wild undergrowth on Dxun. It's ventral extension folding over to the side. Still....the ship leans to the side as there really isn't a large enough clearing to include the ships starboard wing. Several small trees and bushes prop up part of the freighter. Altogether, a safe landing, considering the conditions.

The A-Squad studies their scanners for signs of further pursuit. Possibly enemy starfighters.... maybe even bombers.... something to track them down. They even search for ground movement ---- hovercraft, walkers, repulsor lifts, etc... No electronic signatures of any kind either in the air or on the ground. Time goes by. Five minutes, ten, twenty. There is no observable further pursuit.

The foliage is dense and difficulty to penetrate with sensors. However, there is a faint electronic signature to the West, the same direction as where the missiles were launched from. There seems to be the same kind of signal difficulty the the group encountered while coming into orbit. This faint signature probably wouldn't even be detectable from a low orbit. We must be somewhat close to it.

The jungle is thick and the atmosphere densely humid. A thick fog rolls up and down the mountains and in and between the trees. Winds are stirring from the atmospheric interaction with Onderon.

"All right crew, whatcha' packing?" asks the commander as he stands up from it his pilot position. The insinuation being that we will be leaving the ship and advancing on foot.

Anjali shoulders her backpack and checks that her surveillance and slicing equipment is packed, along her specialty weapons. No telling what they might encounter. It's heavy, but maybe she can get BA to carry their medpac.

"Hey BA, think you got room to carry this?"

The 'Tides of the Force' do, indeed, ebb and flow. Light and dark intertwine. So much LIFE!!! (3 LS Pips) The landing had unsettled the nearby lifeforms, cautioning them to be silent for a spell. Now that it's been a while, a crescendo of sounds begins to build. You don't SEE anything of note, but you HEAR everything!! Clicks and chirps, the buzzing of insects, the squawks of avian creatures. The stirring winds caused by the orbital, planetary phenomena has awakened the forest even more. But, at least the mild winds bring some comfort to the tropical heat, making it tolerable.

Monty pulls out some electro-binoculars and tries to notice something through the thick forest and difficult terrain. "We'll go this way," he says as he points forward. It seems to be in the general direction the enemy shuttle was flying (1 Success).

The terrain has paths, open space, and room to maneuver. To be sure, some of the undergrowth is treacherous, be the group avoids such hazards (1 Adv). One would think that other creatures of larger size can and do maneuver through here. A lonely bird of prey sits atop a branch in the shadows. Its red, glowing eyes peer at us from beneath the shadows of the forest canopy. It looks for its next meal, waiting to pounce on unsuspecting prey.

The navigation through jungle terrain goes on for approximately 30 minutes. Every now and then, when the scenery changes noticeably, Anjali pauses to sense for nearby lifeforms.

At times, it is ....limited (1 LS, 1 DS pip). She feels a PULL!!! There is something MORE out there. The jungle WANTS to tell her something!!! If only she would reach DEEPER!! If only she would accept what Dxun is offering! The ground itself, it seems, has life to it. It would be "easy". Just.....connect.....

This is a temptation Anjali has not felt before. Sure, she may have learned from her mentor Rahdika that hastiness, anger, and impatience are quick, but unstable, ways to manifest her powers. But THIS is something different. It is like "a calling."

"Introspection, meditation, and guidance," Rahdika said, are the ways of The Force. It is 'The Way'. It is a 'gift'. A talent to be harnessed. Yet, this 'planet' is tempting her with the unknown. Just a little 'hastiness' and she can know more secrets!! Can she afford to miss out? Must she find out?
Spoiler:
Sense gets short range with 1 pip, medium range with 2 pips used. Takes a spending of the Darkside pip to know more.
