"I feel kinda bad for the guy," BA laments.

He gets up and heads to follow Luke.

"Hey, if you wanna show me around town after all this is done, and if I have a chance. If it makes ya' feel better."

BA gives what he hopes is a smile that says he may not be interested in everything but isn't trying to make Luke feel bad.

"Maybe, but with what you guys have in mind I doubt you will want to hang around long."

"We'll see," BA says, before giving an awkward pat on Luke's shoulder, and heading back to the group.

For the next two days, the team takes up stations near Captain Greckel's house to stake the place out. AAA and BA take one twelve-hour shift, while Monty and Anjali take another. The strategy borrows heavily from Monty's police training, with hefty doses of input from Alamy, interjecting insights from her investigative journalism classes back on Devaron. Anjali offers her own take on the scheme, one that draws on a life that has forced her to be more familiar with criminals and their tactics than she'd probably like. BA for his part stays vigilant and remarkably tolerant of AAA's incessant stories about college parties and popular music.

The team observes a rather ornate single story structure outfitted with modern amenities. The residence appears to feature a relatively modern security system, though it would hardly be considered top of the line. Most notably, however, is the small amount of time the captain spends at the house. He arrives late in the afternoon and leaves early in the morning each day, leaving the house mostly unattended. During your watch you find no indication that anyone else lives at the residence.

Spending some time reviewing the captains house reveals the man spends little time there. Many of his neighbors are in the same situation though a few appear to have more reasonable hours. A review of the exterior reveals a back door mostly obscured form the neighbors view. After the first day one of you decided to tail the Captain and find that he does not spend more than a normal day at work. When he leaves he moves first to a major bank and then to the outskirts of town where a large luxury building appears to be under construction. The building itself nearly complete on the outside, though work is clearly underway on the inside. An ornate landscaping endeavor is underway along with the construction of a security wall and security system.

Captain Greckel's security system amounts to something that detects the opening of doors or breaking of windows, appropriately modern, but modestly affordable for a captain's salary. Some sort of magnetic passkey is what Greckel uses to enter and exit the home, which he takes (the key) with him. (1 Success, 2 Adv on previous Skulduggery check.) The residence sits alone, like most residences in this town on Lannik. Still, there is always a chance for detection.
Spoiler:
The approach to the home requires a group Stealth check.
= YGG vs C (Spent DS Point for any random bystander who notices something. Combined Agility is YGG.)
+ 2 Boosts for darkness
+ 1 Boost for nearby landscaping

Bypassing a door/window requires an individual Skulduggery check or the use of the Electronic Lockbreaker by Anjali (which would be automatic).

What everyone does, they do quickly......and a bit clumsily.
Spoiler:
Adv's: "Decrease time taken to perform action while hidden" (or not hidden).
Normally, the electronic lock breaker could take up valuable minutes, but this time it takes mere seconds. The Nikto, Devaronian, Arkanian, and Human enter the Captain's domicile with ease.

The captain's domicile, as viewed from the food preparation area, is rather spartan, yet mildly elegant. We have entered from the front-left of the picture. (There is daylight on the left from where we've opened the door. The bay window faces the front. There is a doorway leading to a sleeping area off-screen to the right, at the back of the small home. To the lower left of the photo is the beginning of the kitchen area. The only furnishings include a table, chair, and a small statue to the right by the curtains. Center-picture are storage compartments built into the wall. Smaller gray ones and then a medium-sized door to the left of that.

Alamy can't help but feel a bit inspired by Monty's quip. "Look for anything that might tell us what he's plotting. Datapads, data tapes, code cylinders, flimsyplasts, or anything else." With that, the Devaronian moves to investigate the gray storage compartments in the captain's wall.

Peppard will walk to the table and glance at what is on there. Advertisements for a luxury building (the same as noted before by Swrider) are on the table with some soiled dining ware.

The gray storage compartments don't appear to be the lockable type. At first glance, they appear to contain normal, everyday living items, and the like.
Spoiler:
AVG Perception check for Alamy to pick out something minor, yet possibly useful.

Alamy rummages through the six storage compartments almost faster than her allies can commence to searching. "Slow down, you might miss something!" says Monty. The Captain keeps supply of personal and business items here.
Spoiler:
Wall Container Search:

Work Items:
2 Comlinks, slug thrower pistol (w/ slugs), 4 Stimpacks, an Emergency Medpack, Scanner Goggles, two Glow Rods, a Surveillance Tagger, a Weapon Sling, a Forearm Grip, a Multi-optic Sight, 5 mod kits, two extra reloads, a Truncheon, a Stun Baton, Riot Armor, Enhanced Optics Helmet, an Emergency Repair Kit, a small package (10) of Death Sticks, extra boots and socks.

Possibly significant Personal Items:
Old admittance passes to an Grav-Ball game on Coruscant, a mini datapad with several (4) comlink frequencies, a very old bottle of liquor, a set of unopened wine glasses, a Sabacc deck,

Perception:
Successes: "reveal additional details".
Threats: "Conceal a vital detail about situation or environment", but I sort of like the Despair option, "Obtain false information about the situation or target." Given the situation, it won't be 'false' information, but maybe just useless information (i.e. a bunch of junk rolling around in a drawer).

BA moves to look over at the stuff AAA is looking at.

"Datapads an' comlinks, good. Is there a way ta copy the info on 'em quick and without leavin' evidence?

Alamy purses her lips and thinks. "That's Anjali's department." Turning to the woman, she asks, "You got the stuff to copy any files and maybe see what frequency these com links are tuned to?"
Spoiler:

Anjali stops her search to come see what Alamy found.

"Yeah, I've got my stuff right here. Let's see what we've got...." Anjali pulls out her slicer gear and datapad to go to work.

"We need to see if we can find an office or study. These guys are likely to have something stashed there, perhaps in a concealed safe."

The home appears to be two rooms, the large, open format, living area and then a rear section you assume to be a sleeping area and maybe a study. As stated before, the datapad has four comlink frequencies on it. They can be copied easily enough (either by cable or dictation). Consider it done.

Before further searching can commence, a (digital) female voice exclaims,“Master Greckel! You have returned unexpectedly soon! I am not finished with the maintenance the household requires!”

Out from the sleeping quarters walks a feminine, purple service droid.

"Oh, my....terribly sorry...didn't mean to intrude....You're not master Greckel!" she says with a look (body language-wise) of hesitation and fear.

BA puts his arm over the droid's shoulders, and leans in to speak conspiratorially. "Don't say anythin', but we're old Republic military from Coruscant, and we're here to inspect the stuff here. You might even call it a surprise inspection, all pretty secretive, and we don't want word gettin' out that could spoil the integrity of our investigation."

Trying not to lie, BA hopes his demeanor will put the droid at ease.

"You want some helpin' wit' the chores? We ain't here to make a mess o' the place."

Anjali sees the droid and approaches as well.

"You serve your master well, don't you? He'd be terribly upset if you ruined the surprise, and you wouldn't want to upset your master, right?"

Alamy cringes as BA tries to lie to the droid... sort of. The Devaronian bounds over to join the Nikto and tries to finesse the situation. "Didn't anyone inform you about Protocol AA23? It's a new directive, straight from the top brass. Spot inspections of Republic military domiciles to make sure that the Sith Empire hasn't compromised their living quarters with bugs or whatnot. Has to be done by surprise so the Sith'll be caught with their pants down. Now if you could please step aside, so we could complete our inspection."
