One of you will make five checks to start. The 3d10 applies to the skill increase check D100 not the main check...
This isn't clear to me. My skill is 3d10 + 10. What do I roll for this particular test (since you haven't specified whether we're getting any instructor help or not)?

The instructors are providing training not aiding in with the skill. To clarify the dice rolls it is as follows.

Your skill is 3d10+10 you would roll this as normal.
Your skill increase roll benefits from the "training" and adds 3d10 becoming 1d100+3d10 = x. You determine your skill increase by dividing x/ current skill level.

P.S. I know the dice roller is not set up for this. I will need to adjust it when I have time. Best I can say to do is to roll the skill first ignoring the skill increase portion, then roll a separate skill increase.
This "Training" mechanic is only being used on this round of first aid checks, and is mostly to help improve such a critical skill and teach the "training" mechanic.

indivdiual rolls
Should be "individual". This is misspelled in the roller, a carry-over from the same typo in the D&D roller.

EDIT: can you also please remove the several trailing blanks after the closing spoiler tag? I know they don't really hurt anything, but it's bugging me.

I tweaked the roller a little further to make the BBCode look a little nicer and easier to read.

Ok everyone should now be working int he Skills Day forum. Everyone has completed the rifle range.

Skills day is going to introduce a few things.
  • The "Training" Mechanic
  • Contested combat ~ hand to hand
  • Dealing damage
  • healing minor wounds/ stabilizing critical wounds/ transporting the critically injured
this may not be a comprehensive list, but they are all important concepts within the system.

Transporting the critically injured is easy. If it's one of us, throw over shoulder and go. If it's one of them, bullet to the head.

Transporting abody is easy. Keeping someone alive who is near death while doing that is not so easy.

Less joking around, more rolling! Oh, and waiting on the GM to respond to Gavin's first aid actions.

There's always time for joking around, as long as the work is getting done otherwise. Of course this may be while my general manager thinks I don't take my work seriously enough, even when I do it better than just about anyone around me.

I meant to add that the Pirates game did look pretty interesting.

It's an invite-only game, but I'll invite ya! All we need is for the GM to agree, assuming that "pretty interesting" means you'd like to join us?

Does she mean slow?
I mentions to @SavageBob a couple weeks ago we hadn't played together lately and then this game came up for which I like the concept. I also mentioned I was looking forward to a SW game that would allow me to try out a Sil 2 Dowutin...lol

Achex might get jealous if someone bigger than him came aboard. He's proud of being the tank. But I've no problem with having two meatshields.

@SavageBob, you rolled a 64 and I rolled a 66. Pretty sure neither of us hit the other, unless a mere 2 point difference is enough (in which case I grazed you). The other dice are for increasing the skill and shouldn't have any impact (pun intended) on the HTH result. @swrider hasn't explained how opposed checks work in this game, what's necessary to win a check, and how to interpret degree of success if one does manage to win.
