Thanks. I would have started sooner but the wife and I decided to wait until after it house hold goods had been packed up and the final renovations are complete.

The new job will be interesting. I will be working different hours, not only time frame but also 9 hour days with every other Friday off. I also don't know what type of internet access or time, the job will give me. As such, my posting frequency may drop way down. Add into that a longer commute to work and life will be a lot different for me in the next few months.

I know how that goes. I work 8s but have a hour drive one way. On top of that my weekend is now in the middle of the week. But take it easy and don’t get burnt out.

LOL, we all thought that "Brute" was the sergeant, not the newly-introduced goat.

Well, I'm still glad that I declined having Gavin participate. He's not into killing animals for sport, and if he was he wouldn't butcher one with a knife. He'd give it a quick, "clean" death with a gunshot.

Maybe it’s meant to be dinner? Like learning to survive on what you can find?

Then it wouldn't be penned in a corral. We'd be sent into the mountains to hunt. The poor goat is just a living, moving target that bleeds when hit. For a trained knife-fighter it wouldn't be much of a challenge, but for someone who's not it might be a fair fight ... with the edge going to the goat as it knows how to use its weapons.

It is hardly for sport. At this point, using the goat teaches to follow through with attacks and actually do damage to a living creature.
It also introduces the damage mechanics.

Please note that what my character, Gavin, thinks and what I as a player think are not the same thing. I was saying what the character thinks.

BTW, you keep misspelling the name of kanila's PC. It's "Ambrus", not "Ambrose".

Does Gavin have to attack the goat (grapple it) using HTH skill?

If you want a chance to practice that skill you may, if not you can narrate it. The medical check was the primary intent with this portion. I want you guys to see the immediate effects of a first aid check on a character >60 damage.

These stabilizing checks are the last ones in the teasing mission. I wanted to introduce what happens at higher damage levels. There is more information on this in the game rules forum.

@SavageBob go ahead and roll assuming all of the others assist. These are the last rolls so I don't want to hold things up.

Did I do that right? Adding everyone's skill bonuses together means there was no way we could fail.

I thought I answered this earlier but it must not have gone through. Nope you didn't do it right. You add the conditional dice not the skill level. There are some limitations. They are explained below

Spoiler:
When you assist you can contribute your conditional dice. The first person aiding can provide all theirs the second all of theirs -1, third -2
So if you all have 3d10 then
  • Roller 3d10
  • 1st assistant 3d10
  • 2nd assistant 2d10
  • 3rd assistant 1d10
So all four in this example would be 9d10 + rollers skill.

Only the skill of the roller is added.ote only the person rolling had a chance to increase their skill.

OK, I'll redo it. You explained it, but I couldn't find it. There are several threads where this sort of thing is being explained!
