Just starting? It's a ballsy move. Up to you if you want to give it a try! This is an audition to determine who will headline, so it doesn't mean the other group automatically headlines.

But if you start playing now that means we are allowing the other band to be the headliner.
This is just the audition to see who would be the headliner. Who goes first is less important than who makes the better impression.

Ninja’d. It be my plan if Flash doesn’t decide to start soon. Ballsy but it’s the only thing Meshel can think to do that won’t draw attention to the droids.

So outside kanil’s boost any other mods to the roll?

No, I like it from a narrative standpoint! Let's have Meshel roll Cool with ImageImage from Kanila's Deception check, representing that everyone's distracted by the drama over the camdroid.

Everyone else, please roll Vigilance with no modifiers. The Rontos aren't going to stand by while the Echoes try to take the lead!

Meshel; Hyperspace Echoes ; Audition, cool:
3 Successes, 5 Advantages

Looks like the Klatooinians are hot off the mark so far.

Kri; Hyperlight Echoes; Vigilance:
0 Success, 0 Advantage

No help from Kri. Just need a roll from @Boutrose Saba-Norr and we'll know who gets the jump!

The last throes of Christmas are tonight for me! If we don't get a roll from @Boutrose Saba-Norr by tomorrow, I'll roll for Ghaise and explain how the scene's going to play out.

Looks like @Boutrose Saba-Norr is still tied up, so here's Ghaise's Vigilance roll:

Ghaise; Hyperlight Echoes; Vigilance:
2 Successes, 2 Advantages, 1 Triumph,

ImageImageImage

Not bad!

Looks like the first slot will go to a PC. Since the jumpstart to playing was @Spiritbw's idea, I'd like him to go first. Roll as if this is a normal performance, trying to maximize Image using the normal difficulty multiplier. Let's say these rolls get ImageImage and Image and Image for the sparse crowd, concert venue, and good sound equipment respectively. Then I'll reveal a bit more mechanically about how this encounter will play out. 8-)

(BTW, @Spiritbw, I don't see any sign of XP expenditures on Meshel's character sheet. Can you add a post indicating how you spend your 20 earned XP?)

Was thinking of the xp so long I had forgotten. 😓. I’ll do that now and post in a second.

Okay, done. This first round is going to hurt a bit...

Edit: thinking after the fact, not sure if you want me using Intimidating that way. Is it alright?

Let's roll with it for now. Eventually, looks like you'll be able to roll ImageImageImageImage Coercion checks as Image, but it costs a lot of XP to get there. Probably won't be game-breaking.

Did Meshel buy any Performer's Attire?

I've also been contemplating how to run this scenario. Should it be that everyone is targeting Flash with their rolled Image, trying to whittle away at his strain threshold? If so, should your performance checks be affected by his talents? He has Nobody's Fool, for instance, which upgrades incoming Charm and Coercion checks.

I think for the purposes of simplicity, I'll rule that social talents like Nobody's Fool don't come into play when the incoming check is a performance check.

So, I need you to spend your Image, @Spiritbw. Then I can continue the encounter. Options include (but are not limited to):

Recover 1 strain.

Add Image to the next allied character's check.

Notice a single important point in the performance, such as the presence of an important person in the crowd.

The character learns something valuable and gains Image on any future checks to perform the same song until the end of the session.

Activate an item quality (Image cost may vary).

A sorry. Boost to the next performer.

Hope everyone had a good new year.

It's a jam session!

We'll do a full round and see which band generates the most net Image. The goal is to perform alongside the Rontos (harmonizing your song with theirs) but to outperform them.

Because this is a structured encounter, you can use one maneuver and action per turn. The most useful maneuver is probably Assist; this grants a Image to an engaged character's next check. Since we haven't established who's standing by whom, we'll leave it nebulous.

No one was prepared for this, so you'll have to spend a maneuver to ready your instruments. Ghaise got a Image, though, so he gets a free maneuver on his first turn and can use this to sit down at his drum set if he chooses.

Remember that you're all using provided instruments, so get Image for their professional quality. (I think Spiritbw neglected to account for this, so I didn't give Lalkan the boost to compensate.) Those of you with Performers' Attire get a Image as well, or ImageImage if Raysel did your costume and makeup in the dressing room.

A PC is up. @kanila, you can have Ryg'gos jump in any time. You'll likely want to have Ryg'gos use Deception to film the proceedings; let's say how many Image you get determines whether you missed anything good! Your Image can be used to buff the team just like any other band member, and we'll count your Image toward the tally. We'll do the same for Ellimelli.

What is the difficulty for my recording? ImageImage? Any Image?

I assume it’d be according to the performance rules in the house rules section. So the harder the difficulty, the bigger a multplyer you get but the more strain you suffer.

I’d like to remind that one of the difficulties should have been downgraded or meshal’s check should have been upgraded due to my triumph on the inspiring rhetoric check

Also what is turn order

Yeah, since you're contributing to the net successes, let's say the same rules apply to this particular Deception check. 1 Strain per Image, unconcealed Image get multiplied by the number of Image you roll. (This won't always be the case for camerawork, just for this scene.)

Ah, sorry; I forgot about the Image earlier. Let's let the next PC take it (but not Ghaise himself).

Nijor Pitor of the Rontos is up next, then it's two PCs. See the Whose Turn Is It? for the order so far.

Yes, downgrading a check is not reducing the difficulty. Without any Challenge dice to downgrade, and upgrade may be the only option (with the dice).

Cool, I can finish things up for this round after the last pc slot, and then do an inspiring rhetoric to start the next round.
