I am reading the Thrawn Trilogy at the moment.
Heir to the Empire,
Dark Force Rising,
and
The Last Command.
I am half way through Dark Force Rising and am enjoying it immensly!
I regret not being an avid reader while younger. I missed so much, I think. Catching up now, though. Love the way Zahn does the characters. Looking forward to working some Grand Admiral tactics into the games.
Any ideas what to read next (when the time comes)?

Re: SW Readings
I really enjoyed the Tales of the Jedi comics that came out in the 90s.
The XWing novel series is really good, probably some of the best EU material.
I've heard the Knights of the Old Republic comic series was really good, but I haven't had a chance to read it.

Give me about 5 minutes after a post, I'll probably edit it a bit before it is finalized.

Re: SW Readings
Zahn's duology Specter of the Past and Vision of the Future are good as well.
I agree with the choice on the X-wing series, the Wraith Squadron part gives some great ideas for characters. If you like Coran Horn from the Rogue Squadron part make sure to read I, Jedi, his continuing journey.

Re: SW Readings
I know some people don't like the retcons of Anderson's series that I, Jedi implements, but I honestly thought that it did a good job of smoothing over later issues from the EU and making it all fit together, in ways Anderson couldn't when he originally wrote his Jedi Academy series.

I never read that much into it that way. Horn became one of my all time favorite characters and I've always enjoyed how Stackpole weaves a story, whether SW or Battletech.

Yeah, Horn is probably one of my favorite post-Endor EU characters.
