Background

Background:

Entertainer: Hotshot

You may have heard of many famous pilots that have come out of Corellia, however none were more adored by locals as the “Dual Torpedoes”. Ziz and Lev Tucana, twin brothers born and raised in Coronet City, were well known for their acrobatic aerial displays and gut-wrenching dynamic manoeuvres. Born into the flight trade, their family ran a well-established shipyard and repair shop. This brought all sorts of pilots from around the galaxy passing through and it was these encounters that inspired and taught the brothers their library of inventive flying moves and daring escapades. Ziz and Lev made a living from circus-type shows and performing at celebrations and festivals. Of course, this always attracted the attention of plenty of recruiters who tried to convince the brothers that their skills could be better put to use elsewhere.

Most unusual about the twins flying was their choice of ship. Working out of their family workshop, they took a liking to a couple of old Y-Wing fighters that were sold to them one day. Not much to look at and in a terrible state, Ziz and Lev adored the old ships and worked months on restoring them. It was these ships that created the name “Dual Torpedoes” for them due to the unique proton torpedoes they carried.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Ziz and Lev always talked each other into these odd jobs where the potential for a good thrill-seeking ride was to be had. These varied from distracting blockades to escorting high-value ambassadors. Some of these jobs however, were an inconvenience to local Imperial bases and fleets. During one of their flying displays for a trade festival, the brothers were unaware they had attracted the attention of a band of Imperial Tie Fighters who were ordered there via a “routine surveillance”. Instigating hostility with a warning shot, the Ties descended on the display with an intimidating manner hoping to put an end to the “troublesome brothers”. What at first was supposed to be an afternoon of astonishing spectacles and flamboyant tricks soon turned into an exchange of laser fire and missiles as the two groups locked in battle. With one wrong turn, Lev took a critical hit and collided with an oncoming Tie.

Although he had a lucky escape, Ziz took the loss of his brother hard. He spiralled for a while, drinking heavily and accepting silly jobs where the risk was too high for any sane pilot to agree to. His path to self-destruction seemed inevitable until one fateful day loitering in the Ferro system, he met a woman who approached him with a proposal. Recognising Ziz, she talked of loss and hope. And of a cause by the name of the Ferroan Resistance. She convinced Ziz not to let his passion die with his brother but live on through the good he could do and continue the legacy of the “Dual Torpedoes”. Inspired by her words, Ziz felt a sense of belonging again and for the first time in along time, he had a purpose.

Ziz sets out with his ship, “Wishbone” (named after his lucky escape) to fill the hole in his heart, piece by piece, with every Imperial ship he destroys.

Motivation:

Conflict: Revenge

Ziz has come a long way since joining the Clawbird Squadron of the Ferroan Resistance. Although he is the most Ziz-like he has been in a long time, a pain still festers behind his confident banter and showman smile. Nothing gives him greater pleasure than to hurt the Empire's forces the way they have hurt him and if there is a chance to take that revenge, he'll be there. Some say, the pain has sharpened his abilities even more and given him courage to do the most spectacular things while others are concerned he is still looking for that bitter-sweet release.

Duty:

Placard Hunter

It has become a personal game for Ziz to hunt down and target Imperial pilots. The higher the rank, the more points he scores. Much to the annoyance and disruption of his squad and superiors, it often leads him away from the mission at hand and once he has a target in his sights, there is not a lot anyone can do or say to intervene. Ziz says it is for the people, to show them not to be afraid and face any enemy no matter how big and shiny they appear but everyone knows, deep down, it is Ziz battling his own demons that drives these daring pursuits.
