OOC Session 04: A diplomatic solution

In which you will attempt to gain access to the Silver Belt national preserve, on Isde Naha. And maybe do some shopping. And maybe name a ship. And maybe do some other stuff.

Well, first order of business would be to name the ship. ;)

After that it’s a matter I think of finding out the situation as it stands. Find out what the restrictions are on entering the Silver Belt and if there are any exceptions. See if if there is any way the trade negotiations will play not this for good or ill.

Shopping shouldn’t take up to much of our time unless someone is after something exotic?

Well I went with Knowledge Underworld 1 and Streetwise 1. Both should be useful for what I want to find/buy haha.

@SanguineAngel
A few questions did enough time pass for our ST and WT to reset to zero.

Can Chibiithii get a mentor bonus on picking up a force talent.

I don't have any wounds but would love to remove some strain, even if it is just with a cool check.

If we are going to be posing as run-of-the-mill Imperials, I suggest we give the ship the most boring name we can think of.

We are traveling for three days, I’m guessing that WT and ST recovered during that time.

Maybe call it Wreathe?

Maybe something emblematic of the emperors love. "slaughter" perhaps? "reasonable force" or "disenfranchisement"

Parabellum.

It’s Latin. Usually used in context of the phrase “Si vis pacem, para bellum,” meaning "If you want peace, prepare for war."

That is an excellent name.

@swrider @crazybirdman you can recover all strain. Over the course of the trip.

Additionally, this marks a week since your injuries, @crazybirdman so one of the first rolls I'll ask of you is resilliance against your crit. But I'll handle that in the first IC post.

I should note, if you wonder how Galvin tends to speak to the other Hands you won’t go wrong thinking of a stereotypical British butler.

@SanguineAngel Chibiithii s like is harder to conceal than a regular light saber. Since it can't be hidden can chibiithii add a standard point head to it so it will resemble and function as a regular pike? Something like adding a bayonet. I am assuming he would have to purchase material to create the head.

I’ve imagined him similar to Thrawn.

That works too. Mind I’m not that far in Rebels yet so I’ve only got the mental voice I use for him from reading the books. That proper, polite British manner.

So mission related question. Since both my character and Swriders characters are seen as less than humans should I go without the uniform markings? Could play it off as if we were hired muscle for the mission. That way we could operate more ‘loosely’ than the strict guidelines we are supposed to. Rashk isn’t above alternative ways of accomplishing the mission.... just look at the background builder for him haha.

Plus doesn’t swriders lightsaber pike resemble a force pike?

Yes I think it does. I imagine it something like a spear.

Well, this is the image on the wookieepedia.

Seems it’d function a bit like a naginata. A spear like weapon with what amounts to a short sword on the end.

As to going incognito, good question. I think it would be worth doing but alternate options are a bit limited here.

I have padded armor and I’m carrying a blaster pistol and grenades. It might work.

This is really up to you as a group. You're expected here, so your affiliations are known - if not the specifics of your role. Isde Naha is nominally a part of the empire but like most of the worlds or systems in the region are semi-autonomous, meaning that for all practical purposes they govern themselves. This does mean you are less likely to face the prejudice you'd receive on more controlled worlds. But you are about to interact with the imperial envoy so.... it's a judgement call.

Also, it's worth noting that this is a civilised world so it is safe to assume that generally speaking carrying weapons is prohibited. The stormtroopers escorting the envoy have guns but they aren't the official police force on the planet.

Probably best to stay in uniform then. Should give us some wiggle room with the authorities.
