Re: OOC Session 2: Shadow Peak Mines
Hah yeah, I frantically searched all the threads I had had open at the time to be sure.
You were ahead of me on the fear check - nice one. Unfortunate roll but I reckon it can fuel your post! It will also apply a setback for you for the remainder of the encounter.

It's a all good. I built the character I wanted to play, then I realized the character is a beast of a tank. He should still be able to hit, but he will really be able to take a hit.

Re: OOC Session 2: Shadow Peak Mines
Did you pick any force powers for the character?
Re: OOC Session 2: Shadow Peak Mines
Not yet. He has a force career and specilization because it fit with his backstory. He will take a force power but it felt like they were not something he would have discovered on his own. The talents selected focus on his becoming more powerful physically and in combat as well as gaining some knowledge abilities.
Re: OOC Session 2: Shadow Peak Mines
@SanguineAngel i hope you don't mind. I went ahead and edited the initiative tracker, to include the spot you assigned to Chibiithii. I put his name there since I wasn't sure if you wanted him to continue having a seperate rate slot or even if it will matter, as I'm not sure how much more the beat can take.

I tried not to take too many liberties with the story. Let me know if anything needs to be changed.

I just want to confirm that my crit is due to going above my wound threshold, not because of the beast advantage, right?

Yeah, that's correct. I'll post a follow up to swrider's post when I get the chance.

Re: OOC Session 2: Shadow Peak Mines
Would it be all right if I use a Destiny point to say that Tai's force heal was enough to bring me back to my wound threshold (so that I can get up )? So another one or two points of healing magic?

Re: OOC Session 2: Shadow Peak Mines
I'm happy to roll with that. In fact you'd only need 1 additional but I think it'd be fitting if I use the Control upgrade as a basis here - say that the power of the vergeance allows for a more powerful effect. I'll pop this in the thread.
By the by you all still need to roll Simple (-) Cool or Discipline to recover Strain, those of you that have any.

Chibiithii is going to keep listening to the group. He may slur it a few more incomprehensible words, but he will mostly listen and watch. My hour is he can make a knowledge education check to understand common, but no one has said anything yet.
I'm traveling today so feel free to narrate with chibiithii to move the story along.

@crazybirdman, is that the first stimpack you've used (excluding the force heal) since waking up at the mansion? I think it is but want to check.

Re: OOC Session 2: Shadow Peak Mines
Cheers, as I thought. Am I right in reading your quip to Tai that Raven is assuming Chibiithii to be the same creature as One-Foot (and that Tai has magiced his foot back on!)? If so, I applaud your Imperial trained cultural relations instincts!

Hahaha yes. In his defense, he did get hit pretty hard.
and I am totally making a nemesis level NPC in the game I GM that is the head of Imperial Cultural Relations.

He won't have an office. He will be a man of the people (Human people anyway) and will work among them.
Re: OOC Session 2: Shadow Peak Mines
@sanguine angle perhaps this would be a good time for chibiithii to make a in education check to see if he can understand the pcs. What wound the difficulty be?

Re: OOC Session 2: Shadow Peak Mines
Hey guys,
@swrider I made it a Hard () Education or Lore Check to recognise the language earlier so in this case I will do the same but the same but apply setback, as you are not a native speaker of either language, though you are well versed in your religious texts.
Additionally, this is to attempt communication so I'd suggest the degree of success, if applicable, indicates how effective that communication is. I would leave that to your judgement.
@crazybirdman yes, that encounter is complete. And the cavern is still pitch black and vast so there is little to notice. There are two exits - the doorway behind you and the giant tear in the wall on the far side.
However, instead of perception, you could try meditation as this is a place of great power. An Easy () Discipline check will tell us how long it takes.

Should I meditate or use the forsee power?

Re: OOC Session 2: Shadow Peak Mines
Hey all, hope everyone had a nice weekend.
@crazybirdman I'd personally suggest that meditation seems more fitting for the circumstance.
Foresee is useful for gaining hints of what is to come but you are not control of what you see and when you're unfamiliar with the area, locational cues wouldn't necessarily be terribly helpful.
Meditation would allow you to be a bit more intentional about what you want to try to achieve - such as when you want to unlock the secrets of a holocron, so I think this seems like a good fit here. Additionally, it's the sort of thing that people can provide assistance on.

Net zero result. Perhaps He is able to try again at a latter time after more conversation occurs.
@SanguineAngel Also I should confess, that I accidentally looked in your GM notes folder. I don't think I saw anything of importance as soon as I realized it was not the OOC thread I backed out of it. I can't remove my privileges to the file (It is impossible to remove an admins privileges to pretty much anything), so ill be more careful in the future.
