I've put up a new post in session 4.1. I am aware that pacing-wise we might be a bit out of it with the break we've had. And I suspect that even before I disappeared there was a little confusion or aimlessness. So I've tried to use this post (I consulted with @Azzranache on that post so as not to steal all his agency!) to put you guys in a position to take some affirmative action.

I'd also just like to summarise the options you guys have so far identified. This is partly for my own reference so if I have the wrong impression let me know! It is also as a reminder for you in case anything has been missed.

Current likely course of action:
Obtain a Silver Belt travel licence/visa from the black market.
Obtain a Yaw Design truck and try to get into the compound through the maintenance entrance/sneak onto the ship as crew of some kind.

Options discarded:
Join an academic expodition from the local university.
Break into the Bureau of Cultural Heritage office and fiddle the records.
Legitimately purchase a ticket for the Silver Belt cruise.
Bribe or extort any or all of the Council into authorising your request to enter the silver belt.
Sabotage the city's water supply and pin the blame of the local band of pirates. Provide assistance to the city in exchange for access to the Silver Belt.
Incite the local pirates to aggressive action on local trade and provide assistance in exchange for access to the silver belt.

Ok so my next thoughts are to do a bit of recon on this 'Boomer'.

Spend an hour or so scoping him out, watch his movements, who he interacts with etc.

See if there is anything we can use as leverage.

Might need some "muscle" if anyone wants to come along?

The Wookiee is good muscle. I’ll come along for the roughhousing!

Coming will as well he is also muscle, just small muscle.

reckon Raven will tag along also, but he'll try to hang back so and not draw attention to himself of the rest of the group

I'm thinking maybe we pose as a rag-tag band of pirates (best excuse I can think of as to why a bunch of aliens would be together doing something dodgy) and we need fake licences/visa for a tip off we have had.

My next thought is we don't have the credits that this guy will probably ask for (will no doubt be quite expensive). So we could maybe try and charm him into deferring payment, perhaps tell him he will get a cut of our "big score" from the Silver Belt. The risk here though is obviously we won't pay him after and he will most likley put bounties on our heads.

Thoughts?

Maybe we tell him that we plan on robbing one of the tours, and give him a percent of the profit? Then we only need to steal (or otherwise acquire) as much as needed to pay him back

Haha @crazybirdman I love that your go to if you fail to sneak into a building is to attempt to destabilise their economy. The nuclear option and some!

If you want to ask around town about Boomer, you could roll an Average () Streetwise Check with for being outsiders.

There are several reasons you might conceivably want to travel into the Belt illegally. Smuggling and theft spring to mind. However, whatever lie you concoct will require a Deception check.

I’ve got for streetwise unless someone else has better. I’m sure we can get boosts based on how many people are helping.

Just a reminder that any vigiliance or perception checks made while traveling with Chibiithii either get a boost or two boosts (one for short distance two for engaged). He also has a high int that he can provide for any intelligence checks and adds an extra boost if he is providing skilled asssist.

Chibiithii is all for confirming that the black market has the necessary tickets then simply killing them and taking the tickets and other loot. Additional money and funding could be useful. Since we won't be staying on the plant the threat of repercussions is not as high as it would be otherwise. We could attempt to frame it on a rival group, but that would require learning about the other group first. We could also just frame it on a member of the council who is not leaning in our favor.

I'm liking the way Chibiithii thinks!

Aren’t we the ‘good guys’? So killing a black market person would be for the greater good after all!

And of course, a chance to try out our new lightsabers!

(Be harder to frame someone but more fun)

My characters saber skills are lacking, but I like the idea of finding out who has what we need, and then eliminating them and all witnesses.

@SanguineAngel Did Chibiithii meet up with the group again before they went to Boomers or is he still doing research. He had wanted to be there, but I understand both things may not be possible.

@swrider to my mind, they're all there including chib. I intentionally left it a bit vague as I didn't want to speak for you all out of turn but gauged you would need at least a half day to get a lead and for chibiithii a similar amount of time would seem right for gleaning these details from a document in a foreign language.
