@Midwest82 the dice roller can be found using the link at the top of the page on the blue bar. use d&d dice roller. it will generate bbcode dice roll which you can include in your post. There is a history of all the rolls available through the homepage of this site. So if you accidentally move to a different page or something you can go back and get the code for the roll. see below for an example. Oh you must login to the forum before going to the dice roller. If you are not logged in you will not see a roll button.

I am updating the initiative tracker as rolls are made. Please remember to update it after you take your turn by clicking next. I know we have gotten out of the habit of using it, but since we are gearing back up I thought it was a great time to update it.

Your escort leads you up to the hanging creature then points down the only other passage. A single hall to the left perpendicular to your current path. It leads a shot distance to a room barely lit by torches. Several yuanti can be seen near what appears to be an alter. Another is chanting in their native toung and appears to be reading from a book. The light glistening from the book and of the alter reflect an ery and dark light suggesting that dragon scales have been used in the books construction and more are lying on the table.

You see several of the Yuan ti including the leader who was previously at the alter make their way down the path. the leader overhearing the last remark replies. "This is a truly acceptable offering indeed. Prepare them while our Lord here fetches the donkey."
So, I take it that no one is near the altar now? Book and scales on the altar? Yuan-ti coming down the path?

So we're at (or near) where there is a perpendicular path left to the altar?

What is the distance to the altar from where we stand?

Not far 25 feet to the beginning of the room, 35 to far side. Alters near edge at 30ft. The shaman is still holding the dragon scale book.

Ok order is at the top. I have the first slot to a PC done it was a tie. Technically the NPC would have won because they have the higher bonus, but I like to side with the pcs on things like this.

Anyone have a good AoE they can use? I have the 15ft breath attack I can use. Might be better if they are closer though.

Oh, yeah, that's why I asked about the distance. Gage will "Misty Step" to the altar (30ft) and then use my new spell "Fireball" (8d6) on that group before they advance. Also will grab a bunch of scales while there.

Nice move. Since are in a confined space. I am going to give them saving throws.

I wonder how long a fireball is...

@DeepSpacer you are 30ft from the group your targets area hallway between you. The fireball had a radius of 20 feet meaning 40 ft diameter. You can not miss worth your companions or your self.....

Nice gm suggestion. Fire ball first then Misty step into the room. That will allow you to mid all allies... However the spell does ignite flamable objects. Something to consider. At least some of the items on the altar are flamable.

Dragon scales are durable. Seemed like there were many of them, including those in the book.

That's why I asked about the distance. I guess we are in a narrow hallway? My estimate was pushing the fireball to the left or the right so it only caught those in the middle with part of the radius. But I'm okay shooting first and then jumping over.

I think you meant disadvantage on that save because of the confined space.

If we are quick, then perhaps we can be on the Run with some dragon scales before they know what happened.

Was there supposed to be a proficiency boost for the save? If it’s Wisdom I have +2, which would make it a 13.

Yes it is a wisdom Dave so you apply your wisdom save to it. You caught me before I seemed pay off my posts. I realized I shipped a player action before the others go.

Before I decide on Oomaq's or Fern's moves, where are the chains holding Sir Itchy Crotch attached at?

Wrists, and the corners of the walls and ceiling to hooks.

I forgot I had an allied NPC present. I am going to have them free @Midwest82 character so a player does not have to do it.
