@Swrider what is the possibility of purchasing magic items in general? I've noticed that with 5e that they don't seem to have any kind of standard list like previous versions or Pathfinder.

Yeah, good idea. Maybe even the mundane stuff. Potions, scrolls, etc...

Finding magic items is is difficult. They are incorporated in the game, but not yet. They will be unlocked so to say in a future mission. If people are interested in them I can guide the group to the right area in this next session.

I noticed they seemed less accessible in 5e in general. Personally wouldn't mind the occasional piece thrown in though.

Unlike previous editions 5th is balanced without magic items. When they do get brought in it is about 5 th level

With our recent infusion of GP Oomaq would like to upgrade his armor to studded leather (45 GP), is there a used armor price for the old leather armor he currently has? (normally 10 GP)
He'd also like to pick up a handaxe (5 GP)
Also his part for replacement of supplies used on the trip (i.e. food and feed).

That will pay for the Handaxe, then 45 GP for the Studded leather.

If we are staying around here for a while I can build armor with my dwarf. It’s just gonna take a while but it’ll be cheaper.

The groups intentions are up to the group. You are certainly welcome at this point by the locals. They affiliate you with lord Larimore and Shor Tay who are quite popular with the building of the temple.

Short downtime interlude?

How long does it take to make armor?

Depends on the cost of the armor and number of people (with the skill needed) are working on it.

Half base armor cost if purchased normally. Then each person working on it can make 5gp worth of progress per day towards that goal.

I can break it down based on an item if you prefer.

Short Sword 20gp (bought from a merchant)

To craft it would cost 10gp
Construction can only progress in increments of 5gp per day per person.

It would take one person 2 days to make a short sword and cost 10gp.

So 1 person 9 days for Studded Leather at a cost of 22 GP, 5 SP? Oomaq is trained in several tools, just not that. He can make you some nice jewelry or forge you some new identity papers or such though. :D

Yea it’s really only good if you have a lot of downtime between adventures. But if your character ‘works’ at their trade they can benefit from paying less to sustain their lifestyle cost.

I'm good either way. Short of upgrading to Mithral, which I'm sure is much more expensive, Studded Leather is as far as he's going for now. So after our 200 GP reward, spending the 45 GP on it isn't really a problem.

Same here. Studded leather all around! Not a whole lot to purchase once you start/acquire with a decent weapon and armor.

I've got no problem buying extra stuff, although a Handy Haver Sack or Bag of Holding would be nice. But judging what @Swrider said before, magic items really don't come into play until 5th Level.

I can start a bigger armor build for someone but it’ll just progress slowly between quests. And if better gear is found I can always sell it.

Or I can make booze haha!

Can only carry so much and can only wear light armors. Only so much to improve upon once you have the basic stuff.

Any gambling around? ;)
