Don't worry about the wagon cost. But we may need some other supplies. A barrel of water and that sort of stuff. I'll post my purchases here in the next post.ThreeBFour wrote: ↑Sun Oct 28, 2018 2:23 amOomaq will take the two Sardonyx if that works, and will pay for half the wagon if that works for you @kanila?
@swrider can we also exchange our copper and silver pieces for gold to lighten up weight of coinage? Other than using them to pay for items as well?

Meddaar's Purchases:
Wagon - 35gp, wt 400lbs
Healer's Kit - 5gp, wt 3lbs
Chest - 5gp, wt 25lbs
Sack - 1cp, wt 1/2lb
Rations x15 - 75sp, wt 30lbs
Fishing Tackle - 1gp, wt 4lbs
Tent, two person - 2gp, wt 20lbs
Lamp - 5sp, wt 1lb
Oil (flask) x10 - 10sp, wt 10lbs
Barrel - 2gp, wt 70lbs
Feed x8 - 40cp, wt 80lbs
Sold:
Carved bone statue - 25gp
Bone dice - 25gp
Cart, used and covered in dryer blood - 12gp
Funds:
Starting - 50gp, 648sp, 1142cp
Ending - 50gp, 578sp, 1101cp
Probably will want a lock for the chest. (Check Meddaar's character sheet for the weight amounts used) I'm sure another few tents and water would be helpful. I have enough rations for 6 people to last 4 days. And enough feed for the two animals for 9 days.

Re: The Darkness OOC
The way I see it Meddaar doesn't have expenses like armor and weapons like the rest of the characters do. So it's no biggie for him to eat most of the cost for this stuff.

Re: The Darkness OOC
so I am going to post Thew'Ruk's downtime description of joining the path of the ancestor totem at the end of the darkness, but also in his character page.
@swrider during the week of downtime can I be making rolls to have him further train The Storm, and can I also make survival rolls to search for the herbs that I think meddar needs for his potions?

Re: The Darkness OOC
Yes to training.
Any herbs grown in the city are going to be owned. You would have to explore the forest to find some.... Could be dangerous.

Sure give one roll for each day you are in the forest. Those days can't count towards making the potion or training storm but can as part of his spirit quest.

Re: The Darkness OOC
Oh ok, so its either roll for horse training in the city or roll for searching for herbs in the woods while on the spirit quest, that sounds good.
So I think I'll have thew'ruk spend the first 5 days of downtime in the city training The Storm and the last two days in the woods, I'll make the rolls now.

I'll write a post to narrate this in a moment. I don't recall how much I needed for the herbs but I do believe in the homebrew you said I needed to beat 15 for the training to be successful, which means I need to do 4 more successful training sessions for the storm. I'll mark in my character sheet that i used five days worth of materials for this.

Re: The Darkness OOC
I made my purchases for Meddaar but have no clue what to buy for the Paladin. Should I just save it for better weapons and armor?

Re: The Darkness OOC
I think I've decided that the Arcane Trickster is Oomaq's way forward. While I agree with @Deepspacer about Oomaq's background, I don't feel the Trickster has to act like a trickster, but could quite well act the same with different abilities.
As it stands for Cantrips (3) Mage Hand is a requirement. I also chose Fire Bolt, need a suggestion for a third.
1st Level (3) Two of them must be from Illusion and/or Enchantment so I went with Color Spray and Sleep, looking for best fit for a third for the party, although I have considered Find Familiar (Pongo from Beast Master).

Re: The Darkness OOC
I like minor illusion. A lot of GMs would ignore it, but I like to play NPCs as how they would react. Minor image can be use full for things like making fake cover to hide behind. Creating a fake copy of whatever you stole, or covering up a hole in the group you dug. I think it is versatile and fun. There are a lot of good cantrips though so take your pick. It can also mimic a sound, and is therefor great for misleading people away from where you are at. Combine that with the fact it has no verbal component and you can use it while hiding.
Re: The Darkness OOC
@DeepSpacer the book was planted because of your backstory. I went ahead and narrated that you kept it. The only person who might have objected is Shor-tay who was unconscious for the whole journey back to the city.
The aforementioned arcana checks can help you decipher the arcane scripts within it, but you will need to find someone to help translate the language, or another way of doing so if you want to read it.
For the record the language is Abyssal

I didn't see any arcana checks mentioned. I did a word search. Are there check for the scrolls, too?swrider wrote: ↑Mon Oct 29, 2018 12:05 amDeepSpacer the book was planted because of your backstory. Re: The Darkness OOC
I could have sworn I described it. Deciphering a scroll is DC 10+ spell level. The book has some arcane symbols but is written in a language you don't know. So just roll a check and I'll decide how much you figure out. If you find a way to translate it would help, but gage may not want to do that.
Re: The Darkness OOC
This was the post I was thinking of.swrider wrote: ↑Sat Oct 27, 2018 8:31 pmIt is an arcana check DC based on spell level. After which an arcane caster can cast an arcane spell or copy it to their spell book. Gage could case them, or the group could sell them. They are quite valuable.DeepSpacer wrote: ↑Sat Oct 27, 2018 7:01 pmIn that time, can we decipher/read the scrolls? How does that work in 5e?
One gem each? I'll take Zircon, 'cause it starts with a 'Z'.

@swrider can I borrow the npc’s shortay and bersk for a few lines of dialogue in the recounting of the down time. It will be nothing major, just somthing to break up the text so it not just walls of description.
