It sounds like the plan is to wait it out a minute or two and see what happens. If that is the case I will jump ahead. I just need someone to confirm.

Do you guys want to pass on our turns and see what the will-o-the-wisp and wolves do? They may attack each other. I am down to ready my action to cast the Toll the Dead cantrip if the light or wolves approach.

My answer is in game 😀
Although I know the wolves are there, Oomaq doesn't, but really has no desire to chase after a confirmed undead that is obviously "hiding" behind a tree, maybe if his intelligence was lower.... Lol

Gage has no reason to look further. He'll wait on the light to do something first.

I agree with waiting. Potentially readying for the attack itself.

@swrider I think that settles it. Everyone had agreed with waiting except Boutrose who said IC that he doesn't know how to fight it. I think that constitutes passing this turn. Can you assume we all ready attacks if since we are deferring our actions?

Waiting is the most prudent thing to do, espeacially when there is no sign we could harm it anyway.

Yes. We're wary. its like seeing a wild animal at a distance...get ready to defend yourself (or run), but if you leave it alone it may wander off.

If you wait for oomaq to shoot untill one of the wolves is next to another PC you would get sneak attack. Is that your intent l? Is there another reason you think it should be a sneak attack?

I guess I was thinking about 3.5 where 1st round combat gets sneak damage. So I guess damage is only 4, because the 1 was the 1st die +3 to damage roll.
I'd rather take the shot because I don't see a good aligned character, even a chaotic one, using teammates as bait w/o permission.

It allows you to have an attack ready to use when already in initiative play, which allows you to attack out of initiative order. But there has to be a trigger for that attack. For example Oomaq readied an attack for anything making an aggressive move towards him and as soon as the wolves started to charge the party he was able to let go with the arrow before the wolves get their attack which is before any of the PCs on the initiative board.
It also only works if you are giving up a previous action/attack. Because we were in initiative and nobody went after the light we had time to prepare for something.

Hope this helps.

What he said. Uou can loose a readied action if you loose concenttatuon so i is typicay not best to try storing thing like spells long term.

The wolf with the arrow seems badly injured.
