Evacuation OOC
Re: Evacuation OOC
Im fine with a new character being brought in.
Re: Evacuation OOC
Ok everyone. this will count as a long rest so you have a chance to heal/ prepare spells/ regain spells etc... Please feel free to narrate meeting up in the morning or whatever.
I also need the group to decide what they want to do. Are you going to stay in the Monestary? or you going to head to the capital city? are you going to inquire more of the monk? etc....
I do want to point out that they mentioned having magic that can be cast to protect an area, this magic may be valuable if you wish to protect the capital city and win back some favor to your side.

Re: Evacuation OOC
Gage would think that
- the capital city is the best place to go, both to warn it and get help from there
- if it is possible, 'magic' can be taken to the CC to help them
- the monastery says it'll be okay
- Would like to ask the monk if he's seen this type of darkness before?
Re: Evacuation OOC
I think gaining the knowledge of the protective magic and moving to the capital would be smart. Though we may be branded as traitors so they might not listen to us.

Re: Evacuation OOC
Sounds like a plan. If you inquire of the acolyte in the game I'll push this forward. You seem to be fining the intended path... Not that it really matters as I would adapt to anything, but this makes it easier.

Re: Evacuation OOC
Wasn't there a teleportation circle involved somewhere?
Re: Evacuation OOC
Yes, it was in the city that we fled from.

Re: Evacuation OOC
Teleprompter circles are a little wonky in fifth edition they act as destinations but still require the casting of a spell. I home rule that using one as a starting point makes casting the sleek faster, but besides that they offer no benefit.

Re: Evacuation OOC
I was just wondering if they could use the teleportation circle to get back to the capital city and if we needed to warn the city in case zombies started appearing downtown?
I'll post a heavy character as soon as I get some breathing room IRL.

Re: Evacuation OOC
Thinking about it, we wouldn’t need to warn the capital. The big shots used the teleportation circle to escape. But we should bring the protection magic anyways.

Re: Evacuation OOC
Nope I was already aware of it. There is a reason those things are typically guarded.

Re: Evacuation OOC
When in doubt, I'd probably say, "Yes".
It's been a SLOW month or two.
Re: Evacuation OOC
Yeah I'm trying to pick things up in my various games. Need to get things rolling so we can try and bring people back or get new people.
This part was really funny when I was with my live group. Their faces were great when they realized they were supposed to talk to the rock.

Re: Evacuation OOC
I'll make a post tomorrow if no one else has. You so should start thinking of a single magic item you would like to get. It must be a common magic item and made of metal... Or mostly metal. It will come into play shortly.

Re: Evacuation OOC
That's the point, IC. We're speechless. The 'rock' may have to speak first.
We don't quite believe it.
Not finding many (any) "Common' metal items on the lists online. Even a +1 Sword is 'Uncommon'.
Gage probably likes a ring.

I'm thinking maybe the Clockwork Amulet from Xanthar's Guide to Everything (pg 137)DeepSpacer wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 1:22 amThat's the point, IC. We're speechless. The 'rock' may have to speak first.

Re: Evacuation OOC
Could I take a Lantern of Revealing? Or Gauntlets of Ogre Power? I’m guessing a Bag of Holding is out of the question.

Re: Evacuation OOC
As long as they are uncommon that should work. I am not familar with the clockwork amulet off the top of my head.ThreeBFour wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 2:36 amSo Clockwork Amulet or +1 to either the Greataxe or Maul?
Also I don't expect him to start out with any real money, but what amount should I give him?
Let's have you roll 3d4 x 100 for pocket money.
Re: Evacuation OOC
If they are uncommon I would allow the first two. A bag of holding would not qualify, there is simply not enough metal in it. The reason for the metal stipulation will become apparent. Mostly I just like things to make sense within the game realm.
The gauntlets would definitely be a prized possession, anything that increases a stat like that definitely is. I would be careful who you mention them too.

This is the site I used. You can filter by rarity.
Meddaar will take the Lantern of Revealing
Rurik will take the Gauntlets of Ogre Power
I will definitely keep that in mind. Are they something noticeable to the common person if they saw them?
