I just rolled one intative for both groups. The animals will ignore you the first round so we are onto player actions. The animals and insects will continue doing what they have planned until player action occurs.

Sorry I missed @kanila's post. Wouldn't burning the tree tick off our Ent friend? Not to mention possibly starting a bigger fire?

@Swrider How close is the Ent to us and the tree with the with the bugs? Does that tree look dead, sick or just damaged from the bugs?

The tree worth the bugs is completely stripped. The went is traveling with you.

Lol. Nothing is set in stone. Forest fires are a part of nature. In fact there are some trees which do not release seeds until there is a forest fire. I am not recommending a forest fire, but feel free to use your imagination.

Okay, Gage can begin to pepper this bug queen from long ranges (up to 120ft). I was just waiting to see if there's any GM intervention beforehand. Otherwise, he'll start. Should I just shoot once and then see what happens? Otherwise, it'll be pretty anti-climactic to pulverize it without a fight.

@DeepSpacer Thanks for the reminder. I had forgotten I just declared the intiative order. Yes NPCs then all PCs go. The first NPC slot was taken to attack the eagle/ fallen queen. We are now onto PC turns.

Before I go, how far is away is the queen from our group now? And is she actually dead or is she moving?

She is dead and being eaten by other insects.

Once the whole swarm is in range I’ll use my breath attack, should I post something to that effect IC?

The whole swarm will never be in range. It is quite large and insects are flying in every which direction. Additionally be insects are stil coming to this area because they don't know the queen is dead yet.

I believe we are still in structured time, so this would be a good time for Rurik to go and approach the eagle before they have a chance to flee.

Yes neither group has left structured time yet. Though I took liberties in having the wolf go "out of turn" so you could see the effects of the PC action.

Distance? Could I make it in 1 round?

I have decided to push ahead. This is in part because things are stalling, but mostly because I am excited to reach the festival.

Go ahead an make your post. Also fee free to narrate the ending of the battles. I.e. rescuing the two eagles (mated pair, though they are both injured badly) and chasing away the remaining bugs. Also if anyone wants the can post about reuniting where you originally meet Okenstalk.

Just looked back and didn’t see where payment was discussed. I could have missed it but who knows.
