Ok so there are going to be several stops you need to make in town for your purchases and speaking to people. This is all role play.

My question to the group is how much detail do you want to go into. I can make a post with all the relevant information and we can move on to you leaving the city, I can post to the next significant event, or something else.

What is everyone preference?

Usually, I prefer to make a set of rolls for finding buyers, negotiations, and the like. Then, have it narrated back to us to tell us how we did. Especially in PBP where a conversation back and forth with an apple cider vendor can take two weeks of real time. Tabletop-time, it takes only 3-4 minutes and everyone has something to do.

But, I understand that some people like to RP such things out more than I do and we need to ask around to get a feel for the city. My recommendation would be to limit such encounters to no more than two stop-n-talk, buy-n-sell, encounters. Give us a chance to negotiate, pick up rumors, make allies, and enjoy the setting.

I was more thinning of the major events of being here. The buying and selling can be handled like we did last time. I understand how pbp can get bogged down and I don't want to take away from the rich story.

I need a persuasion check. It can be made with advantage since you are helping each other. I don't care who makes it. DC 10 gets you a chance to make your arguments to the temple master. Nat 20 means you get what you want immediately.

@DeepSpacer

You have a +5 Persuasion. Don't forget advantage! May the dice God's smile on you!

I can rig the roller :)

lol I have actually considered adding in a weighting mechanism that would tilt roll results in player favor. This would better mimic real life dice. Real dice are not weighted perfectly and players usually keep going until they find a set weighted in their favor. lol
I haven't done it though because, I would have to run it by all the GMs and then do the programming.

I've never seen that at all in RL. We have old, favorite dice, but they're comfortable and old, not lucky. I say keep it the same.

Really one of my players actually did a water balance test to identify the best dive out of a five pound bag of dice.

Another persuasion check is required. This time without advantage. I am not going to specify the DC, because there are multiples that would apply at different levels of benefit to you.

Could I get advantage by using Rurik to make the roll because he is a Noble?

No. The reason is because I already gave you advantage for a group check but also disadvantage because of the omen. The two cancel each other out. I should have specified, but didn't.

Smart (i.e. Dumb) Phone was not letting me log into the site from the phone. Said I reached maximum attempts to log in, was giving me Captcha letter to enter in but it wasn't even taking that when I typed it in. So, I couldn't log in all day from my phone. :x :x :x That never happened before. But all last week, it seemed to require re-login each time I switched a page. That was new, too.

We have not done any upgrades to the software. I haven't even been tinkering with the code. I hate to say it, but it sound like something on your end.

I just thought of a solution to our problem. Though it might be too late now.

The parchment that guarantees the gold... Is it written so that it can only be given to a certain person? If not couldn't we just give that to the people we need to pay the gold to? They could then retrieve the gold after this bad omen has been handled. That way we aren't delayed here in the Capital.

The parchment is a ledger of wealth being held. It is not uncommon for a wealthy indivdual to have multiples. So the short answer is that it would have to be signed over by the knights to the new owners. That is a possibility if you can bring the new owners to the nights the nights will issue them a scroll and modify the one you carry/issue you a new one if it is too cluttered.

This is in fact the solution that the Temple maser was going to provide on a successful check. that is a DC between the check difficulty and less than 20. on a DC of twenty or above he was going to do exactly what you requested.
