The stun shot almost seems to stagger the Devaronian, but he stays standing.

the droids point their weapons at ST-3R and unleash a barrage against him.

Arca closes on the Devaronian and opens himself up to the Force. Sweat breaks out on his forehead as he is nearly overwhelmed by a flood of negative feelings emanating from the fallen Jedi. He quickly cuts off his connection lest his control slip further and takes a few stumbling steps back.

In his haze, he is unable to block Zyla's swing, although he is still able to avoid a deadly injury. He looks nearly worn out, tired, although there is fight in his eyes as he struggles to come out of the haze Trixie placed him in.

Varc's slash cuts straight down the Devaronians side, and the opponent is unable to protect his left arm from getting sliced clean enough that it hangs limply from his side. The lightsaber falls from his hand. He crumples to the ground.

The last two crystals around his neck flash and then go dim as he falls.

Arca kneels down next to the Devaronian, pulls an injector from his medkit, and presses it against the most accessible artery. He informs the rest of the group, "I have administered a strong sedative. That should keep him from causing further mischief until we are ready to deal with him. I will tend to his wounds in a moment."

Waz'aru is grateful that the Devorian is currently down, but remembers they still have the droids to deal with and a stun pistol won't do anything to them, neither will his ability to distract the mind. "Seeing that he's not using it at the moment, can someone toss me his saber? As much as I like this pistol it won't do anything against inorganics."

During the large droid and Jarkyc's vicious firing exchanges, ST-3R charges the foe from the side, and thrusts the ignited staff upward into the ancient chassis. As the droid collapses and immediately ceases to threaten harm, ST-3R starts to confirm there are no other assailants within the room.

The droid crumples, falling to the ground.

The electric hum of the lights fills the room.

For a brief moment, it seems like the group will have a chance to rest.

Suddenly, from the entrance to the cave, the group hears a high pitch whine and crackle.

Three glowing, crackling, red and black orbs fly through the air towards the group.

The soldiers take aim and fire at the things, but the energy blasts seem to almost burn out when they hit the orbs, as if there's not enough energy in a single blast to disrupt whatever these things are.

As the orbs quickly approached the group Varc reached down and attempted to remove the tainted necklace. But grabbing it and removing it proved to be the wrong idea as he began to have a mental battle with the object.

As Varc grabs the necklace, he suddenly feels every doubt and every fear he's ever had storm into his mind at once, intrusively butting in to his normal thought pattern. He thinks about his desire to prove himself, to show his bravery, his trouble with his anger, but he's able to control his own thoughts, drawing on the Force.

He blinks several times as his head clears, and he notices that the amulet is now glowing in his hand, and one of the orbs appears to have stopped moving.

Shaking his head to clear any remaining fog, he looks at the now glowing necklace. Throwing the necklace against the ground, shards of it scattered throughout the area. He hoped that it would get rid of the orbs.

"Varc! The crystals stop the orbs!" yells Trixie, knowing perhaps that the crystals had an unpleasant effect on Varc but hopeful something remains to stop these things. She uses the GP Scanner to detect lifeforms again towards the orbs. 'They didn't appear on my scanner before! Maybe they weren't HERE before when I scanned!' she thinks to herself.

Waz'aru concentrates as hard as he can trying to stretch out with the Force to grab the unattended Lightsaber. The saber doesn't even twitch, not that he really expected it to. Waz'aru had realized a while ago he had not yet developed a talent for telekinesis, but he had hoped that in dire circumstances it might come to him. He was just going to get it the way those without any Force abilities normally did, pick it up.

The Orb that had briefly stopped when Varc had grabbed the jewel turns tail and bolts out of the cave, passing out of sight.

The other two Orbs move forward. They ignore ST-3R and move straight ahead.

The first attacks Zyla, charging straight at her.

Zyla gasps, and for a brief moment she twitches, then the orb launches out of her and everyone can hear her gasping for breath. The orb angrily buzzes around her, looking like it will try it again.

Jarkyc, seeing that guns weren't working, decides to let the Jedi handle it. He grabs the hoversled and pulls it closer to the wreckage, moving himself away from the Orbs.

Arca reaches out with his feelings and senses the thoughts going through the Devaronian's mind. Then, not unaware of the other events going on nearby, he picks up the lightsaber that the Devaronian had dropped and holds it out for Waz'aru to take while he assumes a guarded stance.

If he's properly sedated to the level that Arca has been assuming that he should be at then there shouldn't be any thoughts for him to sense. OTOH, if he's not as deeply asleep as he ought to be then Arca will sense that.
