The door swishes open, and a rush of temperature-controlled air hits the group, much warmer than the ambient air in the cave and outside.

As they're looking in, to the left is a bank of computer screens and controls. Straight ahead, in the middle of the room, is Lyriss's cell.

I couldn't find one I liked with the small door in the front that I wanted, so there is a small door in the front of this one

To the right there are some lab tables, operating tables, and other things like that, all currently empty save for a few datapads being hastily collected by a lab tech (not the one Lyriss recognizes), who turns around startled to see the Jedi. Behind the cell is a wall that mostly separates this entry area and lab space from a room you all cannot make out, with an open doorway connecting the areas.


Near the doorway to the other area, 4 of the guards stand, guns trained on the Jedi. Behind them, in the doorway, the cloaked figure turns and drops their robe as they do. They ignite two yellow bladed lightsabers.

The entire base seems to shake, as if something incredibly heavy impacted the surface of the mountain.

The lightsaber hits the guard, Varc spinning his blade in an arc that cuts the individual's hand off and causes them to fall over in pain.

As the guard falls, something in the lightsaber user's ['strange Jedi' from now on for ease of typing] pocket starts to glow.

The other guards open fire on Varc.

Varc manages to reflect some of the shots, but a few still graze his suit. thankfully, the blaster shots cauterize the material after impact, leaving the suit sealed.

The strange Jedi glances at his pocket and growls a command at the lab tech.

"Activate the control device!"

The lab tech fumbles with one of the datapads, and the thing in the strange Jedi's pocket flashes red, and some kind of hologram emerges from it.

The padawans all recognize it as a holocron, but something is clearly wrong with it. The guardian looks... tortured? Altered? You all have never seen something like it before.

The image crackles, looking like it's being ripped apart, and the holocron guardian screams.

The lab tech mumbles, "Help, uh, catch these intruders."

The Holocron guardian moves a hand torturously to gesture towards Varc. Varc feels a pressure on his throat.

If I remember it right, one Pip to do at short range, one Pip to add a Failure to his roll, causing his check to fail since he only had one success........make that two pips for two failures. Committing a Force Die to sustain that for all allies within short range of her. Two failures to any Force check against them.

Wary of this two-bladed adversary, Trixie takes a Guarded Stance (Maneuver: +1 Defense) and uses her Action to Commit a Force Die to sustain the incidental she just took (+2 failures to any hostile power targeting allies within short range).

Waz'aru cringes slightly as he sees the red holocron and the box flies at him, memories of that night years ago flashed through his mind, fear suddenly raising itself within him. Fear that his fellow Padawans, his friends, might get hurt leads him to react.
Waz'aru reaches within and tries to accomplish what failed before. Using the fear for his power of Misdirect, he reaches out to the strange Jedi to make Varc disappear from his vision.

Lyriss and ST-3R advance on the guards to help Varc.

"Drop your weapons, you don't need to fight us," She adopts a stance that clearly shows that she is ready if they attack, but won't act just yet.

Two strain to activate defensive stance 2, upgraded incoming attack checks by 2. Taking a strain to use the second maneuver to activate that.

ST-3R, not caring as much about defusing the situation as Lyriss, backs up Varc and takes a swing at one of the guards.

Next PC to act will get a boost from those advantages, and will also get their check upgraded once. Since this is Zyla, I'll use it for her and we'll see what happens.
The guards, despite the two Jedi and droid in their faces, are able to avoid getting hit by ST-3R.


Jarkyc, sticking in the back, lets off a quick shot at the technician after moving through the doorway. He uses a rifle that none of you have seen him use before.

She thrusts her blade towards the strange Jedi's left arm, seeking to potentially disarm him. He is able to counter her attack fairly well, redirecting her thrust. Zyla easily recovers, though, and turns her thrust into what looks like a Soresu defensive position, masking her own lightsaber style.

Gasping for air after the feeling of his throat being constricted finally released, he eyed the twisted holocron. Not wanting to give the guards a chance to catch their breathes he continued to press the attack.

The strange Jedi growls, seeing Trixie using the Force to inhibit them and the holocron.

The strange Jedi spins their blades towards Zyla, their whole body moving fluidly, spinning along with the attack.

Her false shift to a Soresu-appearing defense keeps the strange Jedi offguard, allowing Zyla to easily block both blades.

The strange Jedi growls at the holocron, "Disable her, we just need her and that Mirialan."

The hologram releases a blast of what appears to be blue fire out of its hands. Thanks to Trixie's efforts it mostly dissipates before impacting Zyla. However, Zyla starts to cough, and you all can see her start to visibly convulse, but she retains her composure and stays on her feet.

The courage of the Falleen (Zyla) emboldens the young, aqua-blue-skinned Twi'lek. Trixie bounds forward, behind the guards, to engage with the lightsaber-wielding adversary. Despite the tough circumstances, Trixie's blade strikes home!

Waz'aru takes a deep breath letting the Light-side flow back through him. He realized he had tapped the Dark-side to use his power, no matter that he was trying to save a friend, he still used it and would meditate on it later. Using the Light-side this time he switched his power of Misdirection to cover Trixie and make her disappear from the Dark Jedi's vision.
