No reason it wouldn’t work.

That’s the plan as I was thinking it. Once we got the two lists we can see what we can do and where we can go.

I think so. @Spiritbw suggested he'd call Mal, but he never posted a specific comm call in character. He's been busy I think, so we could wait on him or just assume he called, I guess.

I’ll post tomorrow if I don’t hear anything. I was waiting for someone to make the call. I should have said something sooner.

So much for that idea? I suppose we could snoop around and see if there are any known off-books races near Dralt. Or just abandon the idea and choose Eriadu or Borgo Prime.

You could always try searching the station for delivery jobs....

I guess I'm suffering from analysis paralysis. We don't have any obvious hooks to choose from except for the locations of two races. I'd be perfectly fine with the GM "railroading" us into an adventure, or perhaps giving us a few hooks to choose from. Do you have some stuff in mind, Kanila?

Word on the street there are a few shipments going more towards the Core Worlds. Some are on the level some not so much.

As far as races go, the Outer Rim races don’t have the biggest prizes, but the competition is generally ‘easier’. You’ve also heard word of a Mid Rim race that is fairly close, about 8 days away with your hyperdrive. (That location wasn’t listed) You could search for more information about it.

Sorry I kinda left it hanging there for a bit. Part busy but also part felt I was doing to much and not giving other folks a chance. We’ve been pretty negotiation centric for a while here.

I think another problem is that Boutrose and ThreeBFour seem to have gotten really busy in real life. They've not been very active in their various games. (Although still checking in, thankfully! They both bring a lot to the games they're in.)

I think I'm open to more non-race stuff in addition to the race stuff. We all have skills and talents that don't really apply to flying and racing, so it's fun to get a chance to use them. I just don't know what that looks like.

Could always run some deliveries so you can save up for more ship mods. Maybe try to do some bounty hunter stuff? What skill sets were you wanting to play around with?

Maybe a side quest to locate a prototype maneuver thruster designed for ships? Same profile as the one for the speeders.

Hmm, good question. Got to admit, Tarko currently is a rather specific type of smuggler being a charmer. I might have to consider a second specialization to branch out a bit if we were doing bounty hunting.

Doing deliveries wouldn’t be bad or trying to hunt specific parts. We upgraded the ship but that didn’t leave us a lot of cash. Deliveries are going to have to be high end items or small shipments that are time critical. The Exile doesn’t have a big hold after all.

Yeah, I agree that courier services seem more up our alley. I've never considered Buimo much of a martial type, although he would hold his own in a bar brawl. I like the idea of hunting down a prototype ship upgrade.

My current 12-13 hours days are a bit of a killer at the moment, but I am trying to keep up, at least before falling asleep with my hand on the mouse. I agree with @SavageBob about hunting down prototype upgrades, that would be right up Runt's alley. Otherwise maybe head towards the Mid-rim race, hopefully a courier job can get us there?

sup guys, sorry i've been busy but i'm on break now and just got done with like a 30 hour flight. I will catch up on the in character posts and get back to you, I will say that Vo's feelings are going to be a bit of a mixed bag, he is starting to feel more confident in himself again but he might want to play it safe and stick with the easier outer rim races for now, unless the compensation is good enough.

as for shipping, vo has already made it clear he is willing to do both legitimate and less than legitimate shipping, so if we want to do shipping, personnel transport, smuggling, or a combination of all three, vo is up for it. He will likely seek the legitimate ones first because he knows you guys are apprehensive but he will also keep his ear to the ground for other stuff.

@kanila can vo install smuggling compartments without the rest of the crew knowing?

That’s possible but would still eat up HP on the ship. Let me look through gear.... I believe there is something that has hidden compartments that you could buy. Granted it would not hold large amounts.

@Boutrose Saba-Norr

Page 49 of Fly Casual

The Shift Coffer - 2,500 cr, Enc 5, Rarity 7; holds up to a total of 5 encumbrance in items. Requires a successful ImageImageImageImageImage Perception check to find. The lock is broken by a ImageImageImage Skulduggery check.

cool, cool, ok that is something that vo might look into getting in the future when he has some more personal credits.

Hahaha! I love the idea of Vo installing a personal safe. I think installing smuggling compartments would be too suspicious, but a safe in his own quarters? Who would know? No one—until one of his deals went bad and we were chased by bounty hunters or something. :)

@kanila, how would you like us to set the story in motion for the prototype quest? Maybe it involves giving a lift to a mad scientist type who needs to go to some location where a race is happening?

@SavageBob yea, it could be a lot of fun, he might even wait to figure out what legitimate shipping we are doing and then do a streetwise to see if anyone would be willing to let him do smuggling along that rout under the condition that they compensate him and pay for the safe.

and encumbrances 5 is pretty big, you could keep a person in a safe that size

posted this to the correct board this time lol

Haha all good buddy! Also they did mention something about size of the items. I’ll grab the book and update here.
