@kanilla Trust me I understand I was having issues yesterday. Had to take off my glasses at work yesterday because they were fogged up after 5 minutes in the walk-in freezer then it took me 15 minutes to figure out what was missing from my face. Of course it didn't end there, got home got into the shower and then realized I still had my glasses on a minute later......I think I'm loosing it.

Alright guys, so luckily those of us in the uprising game recently got a bit of experience with space flight so this should be a bit easier, we need a navigator and a co-pilot. Copilot can make rolls at 2 difficulty to decrease the difficulty of my piloting checks. I can’t remwber what the navigator can do, @SavageBob you were doing navigation with vesper right? Also if we take any damage then runt should be able to do a damage control roll to mitigate it for the moment.

I’m going to review the list of options and as soon as someone does a copiloting and navigation check, if we decide to do navigations, I’ll make my roll.

Edit: just reviewed what bonuses we got from the map and it is one boost to all piloting checks and a one time use shortcut.

So I think Buimo's going to be most useful as a copilot unless we hit difficult terrain. Astrogation (Plot Course action) only reduces setbacks on the check due to terrain, but Copilot (Piloting: Space action) downgrades the pilot's action once per success. If we get into a situation where both copiloting and navigating are necessary, Runt can pinch hit as navigator, I think.

@kanila, does the boost on all piloting checks mean for the pilot only, or would it apply to the copiloting action, as well?

Just the pilot, you guys would be totally nerfed if it was for both I think.

Unless of course you can give a good argument why they would both get the boost.

The race had started, you had earned the initiative from your previous roll. If you all want to wait for them to go first that's up to you.

Essentially everyoneis reacting at the same time, you guys are just faster.... Fur now.

alright, then I think I will likely "punch it," and make a "gain the advantage" piloting role in order to maintain our edge on the group. what would the role dificulty be.

Ok that is a lot of strain penalty, I’m at a wedding tonight, but I don’t think it would be prudent to burn ourselves out so quickly, or we could end up with a very real story of the tortoise and the hare lol.

I think the better option would be to accelerate slowly while using the one time short cut to gain the lead. What does everyone think, I’ll check back after the wedding tonight.

The penalty is from the maneuver: 1 stain for every point of speed increased from current.

0 speed to it's max of 4.

The choice is ultimately yours...

Plus the matter of the, as of yet, unresolved threat...

Just out of curiosity, what's the difficulty determined by? Is it the rival racers (as an opposed check)? And is that difficulty before or after the downgrades from the copiloting check?

Based it on silhouette size and speed. My thought process is that smaller ships are easier to handle than larger ones, so at higher speeds would be magnified.

Difficulty is raw before the piloting check. I'll update the dice here with the adjustment.
