Episode II: Mountains of Eriadu

Tarko waits for the duo picking up the droids to load up and take off before speaking.

“Nice to see the hospitality of this world hasn’t suffered under the Empire.” He mutters sarcastically.

[ThreeBFour]

Runt is aghast at Buimo's words, running over and hugging the droid's leg. "6low gift from Tarko. Me never slag gift. Me spend lot of time fixing."

[kanila]

Buimo recalls that Teor is a relatively low level figure. (). Also there were rumors that he was climbing the so called ‘ladder’. Perhaps the droids has something to do with it? ()

[SavageBob]

"From what I hear, Teor's virtually a nobody. Maybe the droids are part of some ploy to climb the corporate ladder a bit.… Kind of like Runt here!"

[SavageBob]

Buimo shrugs. "S'pose we should register for the race?" He heads toward the gangplank to see if there's a protocol droid waiting for them.

[Spiritbw]

Tarko nods in agreement and leans against the side of the ship,“Probably a good idea. We could check with our inspection crew once they finish their job to find out we’re to go.”

[kanila]

Looking out at the landing pad you can see a portly human wearing a fancier GRC jumpsuit. It appears that he might be the one in charge of signups.

[SavageBob]

"Guess he's our man!" He approaches him. "Good day to you, Sir. Are you the right person to see about registering for a race?"

[kanila]

The man looks at you as you approach and announce yourselves. ”That’s correct, I’m Arnon. You guys are pretty early, the race isn’t for two days. I’ll get you registered and then you’ll be free to do whatever you need to before the race.” The registration process is quick since you have already in the GRC registered racers.

[SavageBob]

"Anyone else signed up yet?" Buimo asks Arnon.

[kanila]

”Hmm? You’re the first off worlders to sign up. Some of the local talent has been signed up since the date was set. But they usually don’t stick around here long. These races are a good way for them to get out of here.”

[Spiritbw]

Tarko perks up slightly on hearing there are other racers.

"Oh? mind if we have a look?" He asks the official,"It'd be interesting to see who we're up against."

[SavageBob]

While Tarko checks out the datapad, Buimo shoots a look at the departing droid buyers. "No idea why folks would want to get outta here. Everyone's so friendly!"

[kanila]

”I’m not supposed to release that information until the roster has been finalized. Gotta protect people’s privacy.”

Tarko puts on his best smile,” Come now my friend, it’s not like we won’t know who’s racing when the time comes. What harm could it do to know a bit ahead of time?”

Removed one setback with “Kill with kindness”

The official squints at Tarko as he thinks. He then looks through his datapad before answering. ”I’ll give you the names and nothing more. Can’t have other racers attempting to sabotage their competitors. Jita Amarr, Tama Minmatar, and Tenal Gallente. Now if you are done registering I have other duties to attend to.”

[Spiritbw]

”Thank you sir, best of luck in your duties.” Tarko says as they head off again. The race official had already mentioned the racers registered so far were locals. He wondered if they’d get better reception if they bought folks a drink around here to hear the local rumor mill.

[SavageBob]

"Maybe we look up Ryko Gallath, eh, Vo? Guy's a real pice of work, but maybe he's heard of these people?"

[ThreeBFour]

Runt comes down the ramp to the ship in time to catch the conversation. "Me's come too? Do's yous want 6Low to comes or stays here on ship?"

[Boutrose Saba-Norr]

"Maybe we look up Ryko Gallath, eh, Vo? Guy's a real pice of work, but maybe he's heard of these people?"

Vo's face contorts into a grimace in the way that it did when he knew something was a bad idea but that they would do it anyway, "Well I don't see what other options we have at this point."

[Spiritbw]

"Well, failing that we can see about finding a cantina to patronize and lubricate the locals lips." Tarko suggests with a shrug,"If these guys think they are hot enough with the stick to race, chances are they have a reputation around here."

He gives a symbathetic smile to Vo's,"Plus it'd probably sooth the pain of haivng to deal with this fellow afterwards."

[SavageBob]

"Knowing Gallath, he's probably in the cantina. Let's ask around." Buimo leads the way through the spaceport and asks a few people about their contact. They point him to the Earl of Eriadu, a dingy watering hole not far from the main gate into the city.

"There's the guy. Funny hat at the bar, talking to that spacer with the breath mask on."

[kanila]

Gallath seemed to almost sense the group as they approached. ”Oi! I never expected to see you lot out in my neck of the galaxy! Come, come! Let’s have a drink!” As Gallath was beckoning the group over the spacer, seeing a perfect opportunity, quickly disappeared into the crowd. No doubt he was looking for a way out of the conversation, and your arrival gave him that escape.

[SavageBob]

Buimo claps the man on the back. "Gallath! Long time, no seas, buddy." After the drinks are ordered and some small talk out of the way, Buim asks, "What do you know about this Galactic Racing Circuit around here?"

Runt tries to sit patiently as Bumio, Vo, and Tarko talk, but there are so many different people in the bar that his attention was constantly wandering.
