Post is up. Hopefully that will work for you. Assuming that both of them beat feet to get out of dodge. If you need anything edited let me know.

Same here.

I've only seen a few Clone Trooper cartoons, so most of it is new, but somewhat familiar. I like the quick-hitting episode version we're playing out. A mission, a few tasks, apply our skills, be innovative, adapt, then move out. I think it's a good recipe for PBP. ;)

Definitely enjoying the fact that we are able to work well together. We have already come up with some.... Interesting ways to overcome the issues we have come across already.

If you want to see how this mission was designed go rewatch the clone wars movie. It is on netflix. You are running through the clone slash Jedi portion of the battle shown in that movie. It is interesting to see the changes based off of the dice rolls and the decisions you made.

XP awards.

Post by swrider » Sat Mar 17, 2018 6:29 pm

All. It is my intention to award xp at the end of each episode we are copying. My question is would you guys prefer a fast progression or a slower progression. The base xp for an episode would be either 10 or 20 for an episode with me making adjustments as I see fit.

Higher xp means you develop your characters faster, but it also can make a game burn out a bit faster. Though with PbP that doesn't seem to be an issue as games tend to burn out "quickly" anyways.

I'm fine with a slow burn for xp. But I'll be fine either way.

Faster, higher end, for me. Started Feb 3rd, now March 17th. Month and a half sounds right for something in the 10-20 range. The only problem I've seen with faster progression (25+) is not having enough time or game to appreciate the gains. Then, people forget they have Talents and neglect to use them. Too little and it doesn't feel like we're making progress (i.e. 10xp is ONE 2nd rank in ONE skill, or ONE talent, like Grit +1 strain.) It makes little difference from one session to another, causing player to become bored with their characters. That's been my experience, anyways.

You won't be getting the base xp for this adventure. It will be adjusted upwards. I just needed to know what peoples thoughts were before moving forward. We are not done yet though so please feel free to continue IC.

Stimpaks don't require a medicine check correct? Mainly asking because I'll have more I can add if there is a check that's required.

Either way I can heal 7 wounds without rolling if it's just a stab and go.

No check. They just get less effective the more you use in a single day.

Would have posted earlier today, but ended up at work. It's always fun when management begs you to come in on your day off so you can repackage 3,000 lbs of 4 oz fish portions from 40 lb boxes into 10 lb boxes.

As for how we play and run the XP I am fine any which way. I'm enjoying this game quite a bit and I do agree that we seem to work well together.

I do have a question advancement-wise. Under the Recruit Specialization two of the top row Talents are Basic Combat Training and Tactical Combat Training which make certain skills Career Skills. The Soldier Career starts with all of those as skills, do we have to purchase those to advance down the tiers?

I don't believe so. I believe you count it as purchased.

Ill go with what deep said or you can choose two other skills with gm approval that one would learn in basic training.

I had to look it up, but something like "Spare Clip" (do not run out of ammo on a Despair). There's no ranks to take, it simply works. If you have it in one, then you can bypass it in another spec. There's a handful of such talents.

I remember that being discussed (FFG I think), but I didn't know about other Talents that are useless for particular character(s).

If you didn't see (like me), we were awarded 40xp under the Whose Turn Is It page.

Swrider, we'll be getting a new IC & OOC (please) for the next adventure?

BTW, I picked up talents:
Outdoorsmen (overland travel decreased by 1/2)

For vehicle riding...
Let's Ride
Defensive Driving (+1 Defense for the vehicle)
&
Situational Awareness (says if the vehicle has communications, that all within close range (planetary range) gain +2 Boosts to Perception and Vigilance checks.)

Yea I saw, just kinda debating what exactly to get. Kinda want to scroll back through and see what I used to fix issues.

There will be a new IC and OOC. I am just letting people add any finishing touches they want to the IC and do what they need to with spending XP.
